CPU: The NES utilizes an 8-bit microprocessor (Ricoh 2A03) with a MOS Technology 6502 core, clocked at 1.79 MHz for NTSC and 1.66 MHz for PAL systems.
Memory: It has 2KB of work RAM, 2KB of video RAM, and 256 bytes of sprite RAM.
The NES featured a custom sound chip (APU) with 5 channels, including 2 pulse wave, triangle wave, noise, and DPCM channels, allowing for a variety of audio effects and music.
It came with two wired controllers featuring a directional pad and two action buttons (A and B), along with a reset button and the ability to switch between games.
The original NES had a front-loading cartridge slot with a hinged cover, while a later top-loading version was also released.
