Picked this Norelco 5500 beard trimmer because I wanted a cordless trimmer to hopefully make shaving my beard and head easier. The 5500 is very compact and lightweight making it easy to handle and it is very quiet compared to my old corded buzzer. The included guards easily attach to the trimmer by sliding into a groove on each side. Adjusting the height is also very easy by turning the adjustment knob just above the power switch. My first use was without any guard on to shave my beard down. Was very pleased that the 5500 shaved it down to a barely there stubble. It took only 1 pass in some areas but more in others. Second use was to shave my head. This is where I say to look over the 5500 or even look over the manual. Coming from an old school buzzer I assumed the guards were a certain length. First pass and the 5500 shaved my hair as if no guard was attached! This is when I realized that you use the adjustment knob to raise the guard to your desired height! Hahaha which if I had looked at the package closer I would have known that. Oh well lesson learned. For the most part it only took 1 pass but again some areas took 1 or 2 more but overall was way faster than the old buzzer. The 5500 is a little narrower than my old buzzer which took some getting used to the feel for getting the back of my head. Overall the 5500 performed great! Easy to use and adjust (when you pay attention) and the lightweight and cordless use make it a very good trimmer!

Works good no need to worry about charging last several beard trims

Easy to use, and the adjustable guards are awesome. Really lowers the amount of accessories these trimmers usually come with. Only downside is I wish it had a stand.

Barbers stores are closed because of the epidemic, so I tried to make self haircut. After watching youtube I tried to buy other models, but most were out of stock so I purchased Philips Norelco - 5500. It did a decent job, the only problem - the cutted hair accumulates in the machine and prevent cutting, so you need to very often to remove the accumulated hair. Even my wife was impressed by the job,

Does what it’s intended to do, beard attachment was useless. Great battery life! Time will tell if it’s going to last, last one only lasted just over years with very minimal use.

I was doubting buying this because I didn't know if ot would get a close enough cut like I want. I cut my hair to a really low buzz cut and I haven't found one until I found this one and I'm happy! You can adjust the different lengths and it cuts clean!

Trimmer very nice to use. Battery lasts long after full charge. One thing not happy with is that hair stayed in the gap of the comb, forcing me to remove the comb frequently when giving my son a hair cut.

Definitely gets the job done when it comes to trimming. Works great and comes with accessories to achieve desired lengthes.

Brought this during the lockdown. First time user and was able to manage a haircut perfectly. PS , it works both corded and uncorded which is awesome

Cuts fine however I miss the previous modals with the built suction and hair trap.
