This game is god awful. I'll start with the "tutorial". There is no actual defined tutorial, but the period of time in which your hand is held and you are not allowed to freely play the game is literally HOURS long. Tedious and excessive aren't even the words for how painstakingly boring this is. Second, the damage calculations are utter nonsense. It seems the numbers are just randomly generated and never in my favor. My pokemon are constantly being 1-shot by moves that aren't even super effective against them. With that being said, the game incentivized your play in contradictory ways. For instance, because of the aforementioned 1-sided damage calculations, you often have to use several pokemon to defeat 1 opponent's pokemon. But the game also makes you do "research tasks" to progress, making you have to use moves with and battle with useless pokemon. This creates a formula where opponents wipe out your strong pokemon that you care about, forcing you to clean them up with your worthless pokemon so that they get the xp, but your strong pokemon get none because they are fainted. There is no clear objective to the game (you literally fall from the sky and instantly become and entire village's right hand man dealing with random events that keep popping up as you move along) and no direction. Quests don't feel meaningful, the characters are annoying, and there are MOUNTAINS of NEVER-ENDING dialogue to read. The game is saturated with filler content just to hit that 40 hours of content eye-catcher in a deceitful way. 0/10, if i could go negative i would, i don't recommend this game to anyone.

The graphics in this game are just unbearable. There is no reason Nintendo should make a game this bad at this point in a system’s lifetime. The graphics are honestly worse than PlayStation one. I don’t even know how this is possible, and how this game was massively sold like this. It blows my mind that people don’t care how bad this game is.

I have shopped at Beat Buy for 25 years and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. They were more worried about me stealing than helping me buy the item. There were 5 or 6 employees watching from a distance as I was the only person in the store. They kept there distance and as I walked towards them they would turn their backs on me rather then helping me. I was trying to check out and I couldn’t find the register and it took me a while to find a person that would respond to me and give me directions. I think it was a manager, I am not sure but he finally gave me the location so I could leave. Terrible experience. That is my last buy from Best Buy. Unbelievable as it was a favorite site to browse and buy but those days are long gone.

Really boring and not true to the spirit of Pokemon at all. The gameplay loop was unfun and tedious. Battles were a chore, just like every other action. I put this down after 5 or 6 hours and never picked it back up.

Preorderrd the Game back in November. They decide to Ship it on the release date, so i wont get until Tuesday which is 4days after release date. It just does not make sense to preorder when you wont even get it that day like they said i would.

I cant believe I am forces to catch these pokemons? I miss the days were i could load up the game and have it all unlocked for me. Also why are there no voiceovers? Im getting real tired or reading.

Ordered this as a pre order. Guaranteed day it comes out. Ordered one for myself and one for myself. They both didnt even ship till days after release. I will never pre order again.

this product was purchased by someone who hacked our credit card. and after we called and told best buy, they said there was nothing they could do. so it went to someone, somewhere, who is sometimes enjoying it.

I Love Pokémon glad they made it kinda open world now. Preordered it months ago and ended up showing up 4 days late. Was not happy.. other than being late love the game.

The box was empty no game was in there. Just the box was there. Bought this for my niece for her birthday and set it to her(in germany) without opening. Now i cannot even say or complain about this as i have no empty box

I’m sure the game is fine, the review is just on Best Buy. I tried returning the game unopened on the last day and was denied and told to purchase the upgrade to their membership in order to increase the return window. At that point, I might as well not even bother.

When researching whether to preorder from best buy they claim to ship games to arrive on release day or atleast close to it. and yet when i check the day before the game is released it is not even shipped. When I try to cancel it claims that I cannot cancel once the label has printed despite not shipping yet. Possibly the worst place I have preordered from out of every major website. The game arrived 5 days after release day btw with not option for priority shipping.

Cant stand this game. Theres not a traditional pokemone storeyline. Its a weird research game to fight and capture so many of certain pokemon. I pre-ordered it, unfortunately opened it, and was let down by the gameplay. Omce opened you cant return it, so now im stuck with it.

I pre-ordered this game under the assumption that I would get it on release day like how pre-orders are SUPPOSED to work. However, bestbuy seems to think the best time to send out the game is late evening of release day from several states away. Never buying a single thing from bestbuy again and just going with Amazon because as bad as amazon is at least they get the packages to you on the promised date.

Placed the order which specifically claimed arrival on release day. Come release day I got notification it will ship and arrive Tuesday the 1st. Immediately cancelled all other pre-orders with BB and will walk into the store Tuesday with the game still in it's shipping bubblewrap envelope and return it for a full refund. For the record I ended up going digital thru the e-shop on release day.

The game is amazing just wish Best Buy would of gave me my pre order bonuses for the 3 pokemon games I bought with the initial purchase because i pre-ordered Legend of Arceus, Brilliant Diamond, and Shinning Pearl all at the same time. Besides that I love the games

Preordered as soon as available so I would get it on release, now expected to arrive Feb 01 because they didnt ship it until after release. For sure going to be getting games from Gamestop/Amazon from now on.

Dont pre prder games from Best buy is the worst I pre ordered this game on 22 august. the same day of the launch they told me to wait 4 more days, they are liars, I feel cheated. NEVER AGAIN.
