The RackSolutions 3U Horizontal Fan Panel moves hot air out of a rack that is not getting enough help from the room. Three 120mm fans deliver 290 CFM at a rated 3000 RPM, with a noise level of 47 dBA, which is audible but reasonable for a machine room. The panel occupies 3U and fits any EIA standard 19in 2Post or 4Post rack. A front-mounted switch controls the fans from the rack face rather than requiring access to the outlet. Installation is a matter of plugging the 6 ft cable with its NEMA 5-15P plug into a rack-mounted PDU, so no electrical work is involved. It suits racks where equipment density has outrun the passive airflow available.
