So first, the good; as sunglasses they're comfortable and they do the job. The AI is actually really good, and you can choose a couple of different voices for responses. With the recent updates, the AI is a bit more intuitive and sounds like you're having a conversation with the real human sometimes. Battery life seems to be pretty good and sound quality is very good when either using ai, listening to music or on phone calls. You can do everything hand free by just saying "hey meta" including taking pictures and video. You can also have meta upload your last picture or video taken directly to Instagram or to whatsapp. Camera quality is actually quite good and somebody's recent updates have increased the low light picture quality as well. It's really nice having the ability to take video from a POV without having a break out your phone or a camera. It makes life a lot easier if you like to do stuff like that. Now the bad; I am currently on my 4th set of meta Wayfarers. (More on that in a few minutes.) I started with a Gen 1 set, used them heavily and about 6 months later they shut off and never turned back on. Yes they were fully charged, they just powered off and died. I'm a total member so I was able to get a replacement, and I opted for the Gen 2 Wayfarers. Fun fact; with the Gen 1's you can do live video directly to Instagram or Whatsapp. (I think you can do it with Facebook live as well but I'm not 100%). I discovered after spending the extra money on the Gen2's that they had removed the ability to live feed to social media. Not a big deal but still a bit irritating. Apparently the Gen 2 have a better battery and subsequent better life, but I haven't really noticed anything yet. Photo quality is much better as well as video and you have the ability to shoot in 30 FPS or 60 FPS. Low light quality is much better than the Gen 1,'s. My first pair of gen 2s started acting up at the two months mark. Even when fully charged, they would randomly shut off. Again, total reward member so swapping them out was easy peasy. My third pair lasted for another 2 months, and then the same issue started happening; random shutdowns and stay off for a while, and power back up. rinse and repeat. Swapped them out yet again and I am now on my fourth set. We'll see how long these last. I'm at a month and a half, without issues but that doesn't mean anything. Stay tuned.

I bought these matte black clear lenses. I decided to buy the transition lense through VR Wave $92.00, since the transition lens's on the 2 generation meta’s always get horrible reviews. I love the VR Wave. The AI on these glasses are basically brain dead, cobbled together on a moments notice. It does work sometimes. I have excellent hearing, I live in the Loop which is quite busy. I can not go for a walk and still hear any thing coming from the the glasses. Underpowered speakers, although inside they work well. The language’s are random, they don’t include the Thai language. My spouse is from Thailand and we are going to Bangkok this summer. People look at you like your a creep, even though my blind brother uses them, there are many uses for them in the blind community. An influencer mad me angry because she made the blanket statement Meta=Creeps. There kinda fun making videos but you get 3 minutes.

These are pretty amazing at what they do. They make it so easy to catch the lil moments in life, or just answering quick questions. The problem that I’ve learned is that these moments are shared with real people in Nairob, Kenya. So if you don’t care about the privacy violations, have fun

They disconnect alot. I can ask Meta to call or text someone in my contacts and it will say i dont have any contact, it can't do that at this time meaning it doesn't have the ability to. When I get a text message and I ask it to read it. It lets me I dont have any. But it just told me I did.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced with Meta AI on your glasses.
A great first step is to unpair and repair the glasses to your phone to establish a clean connection. Additionally, please double-check that the app has all the necessary permissions to access your media.
If the issue persists, please reach out through any of our support channels and we will be happy to look into this further for you.

Meta Glasses are okay in very controlled situations, but they fall short in real-world use. In a quiet environment, the translation feature works reasonably well. Speech is picked up clearly, and the translations are generally accurate enough to follow a conversation, although there is a noticeable delay that can disrupt natural back-and-forth dialogue. Where the glasses really struggle is anywhere with background noise. In noisy environments—such as cafés, offices, or public spaces—the microphone has difficulty isolating speech, making translations unreliable or unusable. They are especially hopeless when walking on the road. Traffic noise, wind, and movement almost completely break the experience, to the point where the translation feature becomes ineffective. Overall, Meta Glasses feel more like a proof of concept than a polished product. They can work if you are standing still in a quiet room, but they are not practical for travel, outdoor use, or everyday situations where noise and movement are unavoidable.

I feel like the glasses do what they were intended to do—but not completely. The photos and videos are cool, but that’s not the only reason I purchased them. I tried to use the live translation feature and was told I needed to download another app. Honestly, who has time for extra apps? That defeats the purpose for me. Another issue I’ve run into is with video length. Even though I have the 2-minute option selected, the glasses only record for 1 minute. That’s frustrating and not what I expected based on the settings.

Hi BrigittaB,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
We want all of our users to have the best experience possible, therefore, your feedback is valued.
You've mentioned about needing another app to use the live translation feature - it is likely that the app you are referring to is the Meta AI app. This app is needed to ensure that you can access all of the fantastic features that the AI glasses have to offer.

The item is good but I’m not sure if it’s kinda defective, when I record myself, the mouth movement doesn’t match or synchronize with the audio, besides that the audio and quality are pretty good

The glasses themselves are pretty good, audio is greatt. I love being able to hear what is going on around me and still be able to hear the audio from the glasses. The downfall is I have seen two family members glasses stop working after a few months for no reason. No accident, no damange, just stopped working. It's pretty concerning for something fairly expensive.

Audio quality is decent, calls work fine, and the camera is handy for quick pics. But honestly? They're not groundbreaking. Battery life is just okay and the features feel more like a novelty than a necessity. Cool tech, but don't expect them to change your life

So far have not seen a major difference from gen 1 to gen 2. However they are more “sleek” you could say. Gen 1s broke previously and have been more careful with these so I can’t say how durable they are.

A novelty item that is cooler in theory than in practice. There is a noticeable delay from when you push the button to take a picture or video to when it actually captures the shot. The battery life is below average. The automation for syncing is helpful but still not seamless. There's a lot that could be improved.

The features on the glasses are very limited, and having to connect to the app instead of it being able to connect to the phone Bluetooth directly really sucks. Clarity also is really bad. The over all aspect of speakers in your glasses is cool and the recording is only 3 mins long.

The arms on these felt cheap were they molded two pieces together - made a sharp corner and cut into my ear. I returned for the Oakley Vanguards.

I like my old ones better, they werevisually more appealing. This much money for a pair of sunglasses, i should like how they look on me. All the technology is great but at the end od the day they are still sunglasses.
