Can you add a bigger screen to this system
The screen on the R4-RD dash cam is built directly into the unit and cannot be upgraded, added, or swapped for a larger physical screen. However, because this system features built-in Wi-Fi, you can easily connect the dash cam to your smartphone via the Rexing Connect app when the car is parked. This allows you to use your phone's much larger screen to view recorded videos, change settings, and download your recordings.

Does this record while car is off?
Yes, the REXING R4-RD records while the car is off by automatically switching to Parking Mode when using the included OBD hardwire kit. Once parked and off it will record and lock a recording clip whenever it detects motion or a physical impact around your vehicle. It also features built-in battery protection to automatically shut down if your car's battery voltage drops too low.
My garage does not provide access to the internet. Can the system perform on its own internal WiFi ?
Yes, the R4-RD can function normally without an internet connection. Its built-in Wi-Fi is only needed when you want to connect your phone to the camera to access, view, or download recordings through the REXING Connect app. Otherwise, it will continue recording normally to the memory card.
Do I have to install the 24/7 parking monitor. I don't want to drain the battery
Hello, Thank you for contacting REXING. Once powered by the hardwire kit, the R4-RD's parking monitor motion and vibration detection will function normally while the car is off and parked. Additionally, the kit automatically cuts power if voltage drops below a safe level, preventing battery drain.
