The RIG R8 SPECTRE PRO HX Dual Wireless Gaming Headset with Graphene Drivers and Base Station for Xbox is an excellent gaming headset. They have a great sound to them, especially after you dial in the EQ to your preferences via the RIG R-PRO NAVIGATOR app. They are very comfortable. The included charging base stand is a nice touch that you normally don't get with gaming headsets. You usually just get a charge cord. The R8 Pro's come with lifetime Dolby ATMOS headphones subscription. It works very well to give you precise 3d audio. It also depends on the game. Some games sound great with it on. Some sound better with it off. It's one of those try it and see what you think things. Battery life is impressive with up to 60 hours of charge. The included base station helps make them never run out of power during your sessions because you always have a spot to put them when not in use. The stand also has customizable RGB lighting. The full range mic works amazing. The flip to mute is a great feature I use regularly while gaming. The sidetone is adjustable, and works very well. The R8's have dual mode USB/wireless and Bluetooth. This means you can game and take calls at the same time. You can also listen to music. This headset is very comfortable. I wear glasses, and have never experienced any pain or fatigue from the earcups. The snap and lock ear plates are interesting. Under the left side is a removable battery. There's nothing under the right side. I did a search for custom plates and was not able to find anything. Maybe that's something coming down the road, or maybe even a 3D printable part would be pretty cool. Overall I really enjoy using the R8 PRO HX headset to game. I really enjoy being able to take calls with them on.

The RIG R8 Pro HX has quickly become my favorite XBOX headset thus far. It provides functionality with performance, enhancing my competitive edge significantly and providing hi-fi spatial sound. It also includes a docking station that keeps it charged up at all times and ready to go. *What’s included?* Included with the headset are a docking station, a USB-C wireless adapter, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a quick start guide. *Set-Up* Setting up the headset was quick and simple. I used the docking station, so I placed the wireless adapter on the base and connected the base using the cable to my XBOX. The headset began charging on the base and once I turned it on, they paired automatically. I also paired it with my phone, which showed up and paired immediately. There is also the option to put the wireless adapter directly into the XBOX and charge the headset using a cable without using the base if that is preferred. *Quality of Construction* The headset is hefty in weight but feels light on the head. The headband contains springy, soft, fabric-lined padding, while the earcups have deep cushion akin to memory foam with velvety rubber lining on the outside but is lined with fabric on the part that touches the head and face. I appreciate this addition as it helps with sweat control during prolonged wear plus prevents me from the feeling of peeling it off my face as is the case with other headsets. This headset is so comfortable to wear, and I have not experienced any fatigue after long hours. The mic is flip-to-mute and is entirely bendable. The docking station base is such a great accessory to have. It makes keeping it charged a no-brainer, it has two RGB light strips that add a ambiance at night, and they help keep my headset upright and tidy in my living room. In addition, the headset will automatically turn on when I take it off the base and scan for USB followed by Bluetooth to connect to. *Snap+Lock Mod-Plates * This customization feature works fantastically. The ear cup cover pates are held by strong magnets, so they are quite easy to remove and snap back with full force. They are totally inconspicuous and there is not risk of accidental removal when handling it. *Intuitiveness* The buttons and volume on this headset are intuitively placed and spaced apart well. I am able to find and remember their location and have not had any issue clicking the wrong buttons or having to constantly take off the headset to see which button is where. *Sound* This headset delivers a competitive advantage by providing hi-fi and spatial audio. I am able to listen to sounds I was not aware where part of the game previously and I can accurately pinpoint the location of enemy footsteps and gunfire in fps games. They also provide full noise cancelation, deep bass, and a great soundstage, creating an immersive experience free from outer world distraction. *Mic* The flip-to-mute mic picks up my voice crisply and clearly but also catches background noises close to me clearly as well. It does not pick up on voices that are not within feet of me though. *App* The headset can be paired with the RIG Navigator app, but I haven’t had much success with it. I was able to pair and update the headset when I first got it, but the app no longer finds it and instructs me to pair it with my device, which it already is. I have tried repairing it to no avail. *Battery Life* The battery life is stated to last over 60 hours. I keep it docked when not in use, so battery life has not gone below high for me. I truly enjoy not having to think about charging it whatsoever. *Conclusion* I am incredibly impressed by the RIG R8 Pro HX headset. It gives me a competitive edge, is intuitive to use, provides amazing sound, meanwhile resolving the issue of charging and storing it by providing a functional dock. It is definitely my new go-to headset when playing my XBOX X.

I’d been wanting a new headset that would work with my PC, Xbox, and Mobile. Ideally, I wanted one with that would support dual audio sources at the same time, so I could play a game while listening for notifications from my phone. That’s when I saw that RIG was releasing the new R8 Spectre Pro headset, which supported dual audio sources! Pros: - Simple Plug & Play. - Flip to Mute Microphone. - Clear and Crisp Audio. Cons: - Navigator App only for Mobile or Emulators. - Flat sound lacks depth, better with EQ Settings. Out of the Box: The R8 Spectre Pro is as Plug-&-Play as it gets for PC and Xbox. Just plug-in the provided cable to a USB-A port on your device, then the USB-C end into the base station, then the dongle into the base stations. Just make sure that the dongle is switch to the appropriate platform, either Xbox or PC. Then switch to the new audio source, and you should be good to go! I was up and running in just a few minutes after taking the headset outside of the box. There was an update for the R8 Spectre Pro, but I only found out after I had been using the headset for a while as the Navigator App is only for mobile devices. RIG included a QR code to download the mobile app with the headset, which I ignored initially as I thought I could find a download for the app on PC. The main reason I wanted the app was to adjust the default EQ settings as the audio was very flat and empty, which was greatly improved by a simple adjustment to one of the preset EQ settings. Navigator App: As mentioned, the Navigator App is only for mobile devices or emulator if you know how to work it. I did the simple thing and just downloaded the app via my mobile phone. One thing the app does do very well is keeping it simple, with only the needed settings. At the top of the Home page you can select 1 of 3 profiles that can be saved, then at the bottom can be selected Update, Customize, or Settings. Update works via Bluetooth, with specific instructions on how to perform the update. Customize provides a basic mode by default and an Expert Mode. Expert mode allows more fine tuned options, just smaller intervals on each setting instead of 3 main points of adjustment. This is very helpful, as it doesn’t hide or limit the adjustments between the two modes, just how detailed you want to be when making the adjustments. Customization allows the adjustment of Microphone Gain (how sensitive the microphone is), Microphone Monitoring (if you can heard yourself from the microphone), and EQ adjustments. The pre-set EQ option were plenty for what I wanted, with a FPS setting for gaming and a Bass Boost for listening to music. Under the Additional settings is the ability to adjust the Headset Default Mode (Dual/Game/Bluetooth), Enable/Disable Voice Prompts, and the Game/Chat balance. Additional power settings and tutorials can be found under the Settings section. Build & Feel: The R8 Spectre Pro is built mainly of matte lightweight plastic with a fabric coved memory foam cushion along the headband. Like the headband, the ear cushions are memory foam lined with fabric along the edges that will sit on your head and leather along the outer edge. The ear cushions are magnetically held in place for easy removal to clean or customize. The headset is very lightweight at only ~13oz (0.8lbs), which I found great for those long gaming sessions to prevent fatigue in my neck. Controls: The control buttons are all on the same ear cup as the Microphone, the Right ear. The microphone is flip to mute, which I found worked flawlessly with a clear tone to indicate when the microphone turned on and off. On the bottom of the Right earphone of the headset is a USB-C port for charging without the base station. Similarly, on the Left earphone is connection point for the base station charging. On the back of the Right earphone from top to bottom is Power Button, with an LED light right above it, Volume scroll wheel, Mode button to cycle between modes, and Bluetooth pairing button. The only complaint I have about button placement is that the Mode and Bluetooth buttons are right where I tend to grab the headset when taking it off or putting it on, which often causes me to cycle between modes re enable Bluetooth pairing. Base Station: The Base Station is heavier than the headset, weighing about 1lb (15.5oz). The headset fits right into the Base Station, though it only slots in one way for charging, which makes it easy. Plus, the Base Station has a USB-C slot right in the center for the Dongle to slot-in, for easy access and clear view of the headset. The provided cable is short, about 3ft, which limits the placement of the Base Station, but you can use a longer USB-C cable if needed. Audio: The quality of sound is very evident, even without any EQ settings by just how crisp and clear all ranges of sound are. They’re not kidding about being able to hear footsteps, I tried it out in Fortnite and Call of Duty and could literally hear every footstep! It was amazing. The 40mm drivers paired with the FPS EQ setting and Dolby Access made for one of the best gaming audio experiences I’ve ever had. It has definitely provided me a competitive edge over my old headset with the clarity of game sounds and improved my spatial awareness in game. I did find myself switching to the Bass Boost while not gaming to provide deeper sound for watching movies or listening to music. Microphone: I tend to worry about flip to mute microphones, as they tend to be the part that breaks on a headset. Though RIG has made me less concerned, as there is a very distinctive switch when flipping the microphone that doesn’t feel as if I could break it. Like the difference between a screen door lock and a deadbolt, you know which one by feel will stop someone from getting in. The R8 Spectre Pro microphone isn’t going to break anytime soon. I found both the sound quality of the microphone and noise cancelation to be excellent for a headset. The microphone could easily pickup whispers with the gain up, while similarly not distorting due to loud talking/yelling. The noise cancellation worked well enough to cut out most background noise, though loud or consistent sounds could get through or distort the sound some but not enough to be an issue. For a headset microphone, this was more than I expected. Dual Mode: At first, I thought I was having issues with the dual mode but then realized I had the volume turned way down on my phone! After turning up the volume on my phone, I was able to hear the notification sounds over my audio easily. I wanted to be able to play while still being able to hear my notifications, just in case I got a text/call/door notification and missed it because of noise canceling. Battery: With the Base Station making charging so easy, I never had a chance to push the limits of the battery life of the headset as I always returned the headset to charging when I was done gaming. The 60 hours would be more than enough to keep it charged for a multi-day of gaming. Even better is that the battery is fully replaceable, just remove the earphone shell and the battery can be popped out. This is great for a gaming headset, as often the headset needs to be replaced due to not holding a charger anymore, but when the R8 Spectre Pro gets to that point, hopefully I can just pop a new battery into it and keep going! Conclusion: If you’re looking for a lightweight gaming headset that can support dual audio inputs while providing both PC and Xbox compatibility, the RIG R8 Spectre Pro is a solid consideration. The audio clarity makes hearing every footstep as easy as adjusting the preset EQ settings in the companion app. The Base Station paired with a 60+ hour battery life makes sure you never run out of power, plus a replaceable battery makes it easy to repair when the inevitable death of the battery occurs. I’ll be keeping the R8 Spectre docked and ready on my desk for the foreseeable future as one of my favorite competitive gaming headsets.

The R8 Spectre Pro is a well-rounded package. The headset delivers clear and balanced audio, provides excellent comfort during extended use, and features an intuitive smartphone application that enables straightforward customization. The inclusion of a charging base station enhances convenience, while the microphone stands out for its clarity and effective voice isolation. Wireless range is reliable, and the battery life supports prolonged gaming sessions with minimal recharging required. Although the audio could benefit from greater richness and in-game sound complexity may occasionally result in minor distortion, these are minor drawbacks. Overall, the R8 Spectre Pro is a strong contender in its category and can be recommended with confidence. The RIG series has recently undergone a design update, and the R8 Spectre Pro continues the aesthetic established in recent RIG models. The transition from metal to durable plastic helps with weight and durability. Distinguishing itself from the R5, the R8 Spectre Pro features dual wireless connectivity and is equipped with an RGB equipped charging base station. Unboxing: RIG includes the headset, a USB-C wireless adapter for XBOX or PC with toggle, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, A USB-C to USB-A cable, and the charging base station with USB-C port to plug in the wireless adapter. Experience: First thing I should talk about is audio quality. I thought they sounded good. I think the sound could be richer. The EQ is customizable with the “RIG R-Pro Navigator” application. Tweaking the EQ with the smartphone application helped, but I did notice a tiny bit of distortion if too many sounds were going off at the same time. It was not deal breaking and it could just be me, but it is there. My go-to gaming test now is “Arc Raiders.” Sound is incredibly important in that game to keep the player aware of Arc robots and enemy player locations. And the spatial audio is quite convincing. Again, it sounds good, but I felt like some of the bass and the treble could be punched up a bit. But listening to music on my phone sounded good. Movies sound good. One of the things that caught me off guard is that this headset has smaller earpieces than I was used to. But it fits my fat head very well. In addition, I was afraid my head would get hot, but it did not. These are extremely comfortable for those extended gaming sessions. Microphone is on the right side of the headset. This is one of the better gaming microphones. Microphone audio is clear. My voice is properly isolated. I love the customization you get in the smartphone application. The microphone has active noise isolation, but I did not detect noise cancellation from the speakers. Battery life is very impressive. Twenty odd hours of usage only used about 15 percent of the available battery. That is great battery life. The docking station for the headset is big and has limited RGB lighting. While the headset was charging, the docking station glowed red. When it was finished charging, the station went back to a rainbow RGB effect. There is a USB-C slot in the middle of the charging station, and the wireless dongle can attach here if you want. I guess I should talk about the wireless dongle for a minute. It is angled to fit the charging station. If you want to plug the dongle into your PC, RIG includes a USB-C to USB-A adapter, or you could just plug the dongle straight into a USB-C port on your PC. But, unlike most wireless dongles I have scene, this dongle is on a right angle and could potentially block other ports on your PC depending on the placement of USB ports on your PC. I would have preferred a smaller dongle, but that is me. Customization: The speaker cups and outer plates are attached magnetically to the headset. Both the plates and the cups could be swapped out and customized for streamers or esports players. I wish the RGB lights on the base station had a bit more customization options. It would be nice to match the lighting to other devices on the desktop. Bluetooth 5.2 is an excellent feature and gaming and phone conversations sounded great. Bluetooth range is excellent and covers my entire house. Conclusion: This is a good headset. I feel like audio quality could be a bit richer, but these do sound good. The EQ customizations within the smartphone application help. RIG has packed a lot of features into this headset. Battery life is great. Comfort really surprised me. This is a smaller headset, but even on my head, the fit is comfortable. Buyers looking for a solid wireless headset with a charging base station should check it out. 4.5/5

I've tried several Xbox/Win headsets. Some were good while others not so much. I'm enjoying this Rig R8 Pro headset a lot. It ships with a USB charging base, detachable USB cable for base or headset use, and a USB receiver with adapter. Device connection options are Bluetooth or USB receiver. There is a toggle switch on the receiver for switching between PC-USB or Xbox use. I've had issues in the past with similarly designed adapters on other headsets, but this one has been problem-free so far and works reliably when switching between Windows PC and Xbox. The primary receiver is UBS-C but incudes an adapter for USB-A ports. I've tried it with and without the adapter and both options work well without issue. A white illuminated LED strip on the receiver displays the operating status. The headset can be charged via the docking base or directly from the USB cable. The docking base has adjustable RGB lighting that also displays the battery charging status during charging. The headset fits me comfortably. It doesn't feel heavy or constricting. The foam ear cups are soft and fit over my ears without any pinching or pressure, nor are they too shallow. The adjustable padded headband doesn't cause any discomfort to the top of my head. The cups also don't get overly warm with extended use. The ear cup controls are physical rather than touch and consist of three buttons and a volume dial. The three buttons are for Bluetooth, power, and a multifunction button that handles features like calls, game/chat balance, and voice commands through services like Siri. All are easy to access and operate during wear. The R8 has great sound quality during gaming. It is Dolby Atmos compatible on Xbox and Windows PCs. Sounds are accurately reproduced and I don't hear any distortion. The headset is also suitable for listening to music on my phone. It's not quite on par with my dedicated music headphones, but more than sufficient if I want to listen to music on my console or PC during use. The low end was a little loose and flat at first, but tweaking the EQ quickly fixed that. Noise cancellation is passive but effective unless in a really loud environment. The R8 has a non-detachable flexible boom microphone that is distortion-free and captures my voice well when speaking. It isn't the best at blocking out background noise, but my voice remains clear and decipherable even with moderate background noise. I've used it for calls and online chat without complaints from parties on the other end. My only complaint with the mic is the lack of a physical mute button. The only way I've found to mute the mic is to swing it fully into the upright position which disables it. The Rig Pro Navigator app is available for download on iOS or Android. It allows applying firmware updates, testing the headset and mic, customizing sound options and has tutorials on how to use the headset and the different buttons and features. The headset connects to the app through Bluetooth. The app has an equalizer that is three-band by default but turns into eight-band when switched to expert mode. There are also EQ presets available. The R8 ticks most of the boxes I look for in a for a decent headset: - It has great sound and a decent mic - Controls are easy to use - It's easy and convenient to charge with the base or cable - It's lightweight - Has solid construction - Has a nicely designed and user-friendly companion app - Good charging times and battery life - The battery and foam ear pads are easily user-replaceable (The backs of the ear cups attach magnetically and easily detach to allow changing the cushions or battery. However, they don't easily detach unintentionally). Overall, the R8 has several features that are actually useful and convenient, yet is one of the more user-friendly headsets I've tried. Other than the lack of a mute button, I have no other complaints.

The RIG R8 Pro HX is a good headset for Xbox or PC. It has great sound, the microphone quality is excellent, and the charging/communication dock is something you don’t often see unless you’re spending twice the amount. I was a little let down by the build quality and the design, but overall it’s a nice bang for buck headset. With the headset, you receive a charging dock, a 2.4 GHz USB-C receiver, a 3ft USB-C to USB-A cable, and a USB-C to USB-A adapter for connecting the dongle to devices that don’t have USB-C. The dock has built-in cable routing through the bottom and a passthrough port where the dongle can live. Being able to use the receiver outside of the dock adds some nice flexibility, which I appreciate. The receiver isn’t the most compact I’ve seen, but it’s not the largest either and having the USB-C connector on the end allows you to position in a way that doesn’t block other ports. The headset itself has a plain, matte black design. I’d call it inoffensive - it looks a lot like something you’d see in a generic stock photo. It’s not bad by any means, it’s just very unremarkable. The dock has switchable RGB lighting as well, but it also feels quite generic. Fortunately, the headset does perform a lot better than it looks. The build is mostly plastic and it feels sturdy enough, but the adjustment points didn’t feel the greatest to me. The headband adjustments have a fair amount of resistance and are not particularly smooth. The boom mic is very flexible, which is nice for getting it to the best position in front of my face, but you also feel that flex when flipping the microphone up the mute position and it only smoothly goes to a 45 degree position. This does mute the microphone, but in general I prefer to put it up to the 90 degree position and this requires a fair amount of extra effort to do. The headband adjustments are mostly a minor thing since I’m really only setting that once, but I’ve noticed the microphone adjustment situation a lot. It is comfortable to wear though and the headband and earpad materials both feel great. It’s not particularly light, but not particularly heavy either. I’ve put in a few multi-hour sessions wearing them at this point and haven’t experienced any discomfort or fatigue. I tested the RIG R8 Pro HX on both PC and Xbox using the 2.4GHz connection. The receiver has a switch for Xbox and PC (or PlayStation, Switch, etc.) and that does need to be set accordingly. There is support for simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections and those connections can also be enabled individually. I didn’t see it shown in the manual, but wired USB listening is also possible. Connecting to Windows, the maximum bit depth/sample rate I could set was 16-bit/48kHz, even when wired, so this does not support high-res audio. The R8 Pro HX also includes a built-in license for Dolby Atmos, which is great especially on Xbox. I found the sound quality to be great. It’s not the best gaming headset I’ve listened to, but it’s definitely on the higher end of what I’ve experienced. The sound has a lot of detail and great bass. I was able to pick up all the important sound and position cues without feeling like any part of it was overwhelming another. The microphone is excellent and the recordings I listened to of myself sounded very natural and did not have that compressed sound that some other gaming mics have. The wireless connection has been solid on both PC and Xbox with no noticeable disruptions or latency. The battery life is listed at 60+ hours, and I doubt it’s something I’ll ever really run into since I’m just dropping these back on the dock after each session. The charging pins on the headset engage with the dock magnetically and as long as the headset is mostly in position it snaps itself into place easily. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the battery is actually removable, which is great if you’re going to hold onto this for a long time and need to replace that. So overall I think there’s a lot to like about the RIG R8 Pro HX. It feels like it punches above its weight in a lot of ways, though the issues I have with the general aesthetics and some of the build quality issues are hard to ignore. Still, if you can get past those this is a very good headset.

I'm enjoying this headset right now listening to music so let's just get straight to it so I can get back to enjoying it! - SOUND: Really, REALLY good. The sound is incredibly rich and vibrant. Games actually do feel incredibly immersive. There really isn't anything that the headset can't do. Music sound incredible as well. Mic quality is excellent and clear with no "fuzzy" background noise. - CONTROLS: Among the best I've ever experienced. Everything is right where it should be and intuitive. More "plug and play" than any other gaming headset I've ever owned. The companion app unlocks even more features and, for once, isn't a glorified marketing tool. - COMFORT: Insanely comfortable. Very, very fine-tuned adjustability (no preset "clicky" adjustments), earpads are BY FAR the best I've ever experienced, and the top pad is the perfect mix of firm/soft to actually support the headset weight. I could easily wear this headset for a whole day. - FEATURES: Excellent and feature rich. Highly recommend the companion app. No account creation needed (THANK YOU!), just pair the headset and you're ready to go and you have access to multiple sound profiles, simple or "expert" EQ adjustments. Dolby Atmos support included. I like the ability to quickly switch between Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Done working? You are literally a button press away from switching to USB and gaming/videos. Done gaming? Hit the Bluetooth button and you're right back to your phone. EASY. - AESTHETICS: Top notch. The headset feels very, very well made with high quality materials. The ability to customize the headset is pretty cool for those that have to have their own flare. The RGB lighting on the dock is a nice touch and even has brightness adjustments. OVERALL: This is BY FAR the best experience I've ever had with a gaming headset. It sounds incredible, is just effortlessly easy to use and I honestly would just be straight up lying if I told you there was something about it I didn't like. I wouldn't change a single thing. It's THAT GOOD!

The Rig Pro HX is a well balanced headset no matter if you’re gaming, watching movies, listening to music or taking calls. In addition to the headset, you get a nice charge base, USB-C wireless transmitter, USB-A transmitter and a USB-A to C charge cable. The charge base feels very substantial and well made, it also has an additional USB-C charge port on the top. This allows you to attach the base to a pc with the USB-A cable and then the wireless transmitter attaches to the charge base and it acts as passthrough, freeing up ports on your computer. The headset is very comfortable with its very soft headband and earcups, that are a nice breathable type of fabric. In terms of sound, these are some of the best gaming headphones I’ve used, especially with the addition of Dolby Atmos. You get deep clean base with great situational awareness. With the Rig app you can customize the sound and it also allows you to save three profiles. If you’re looking for a headset that allows you to swap between gaming and calls at the same time, provide deep clean bass all the while being comfortable while doing it, the Rig Pro HX is a great option.

The R8 Pro HX is a great addition to any gaming setup. It's versatile were you can use it on any console and PC. It includes a dongle that can switch from console and PC. What stands out is the charging station that is included with the headset. It has led lights that make the charging station unique. The lights on the charging station can also be changed. It is easy to dock the headset on the charging station. The headset has a dial for volume. The mic has a feature that mutes when flipped. The manufacturer states the headset can last for up to 60 hrs of gameplay. The headset can be paired to its dedicated app where additional features can be accessed. In the app you can setup profiles, tutorial videos, and additional features. You can also test the buttons and speakers through the app. The headset sound is pretty impressive. Not enough bass for my preference. Its compatible with premium sound that's available through the console app. Overall this headset seems durable and great to use everyday.

This headset–the RIG R8 Spectre Pro HX–provides a very solid and enjoyable experience, and it deserves strong consideration from anyone looking for a headset for their PC and/or Xbox. It’s comfortable to wear with plenty of padding on the earcups and headband, so extended wear should not be a problem. The microphone, non-detachable, sits on the right side (muting by flipping up) and is firm but flexible for adjustment. The overall design is subtle black, but it is customizable with separate covers (magnetically attached). Out of the box you get the headset, USB dongle, USB cable and the charging dock, which has RGB lighting. The headset arrived almost fully charged, so it doesn’t take long to have it 100%. Setup is very easy and you can get started without the Navigator app if you choose, but it does provide a lot of functionality that you’ll want (see below). Sound quality is very good, across a wide variety of uses. I preferred to use the bass boost EQ preset for a little more oomph in the low end initially. However, it’s Dolby Atmos for headphones compatible and a lifetime license is included, so with that in mind I let the Dolby Access app control EQ with my PC. The boom mic is quite clear and can be adjusted in the Navigator app for sensitivity. Connectivity is generous with both 2.4Ghz wireless and Bluetooth–the dongle has a switch for Xbox or PC mode and helpfully includes a Type-C to A adapter. It does allow for simultaneous connections, so you can have your phone connected via Bluetooth while connected to a PC via wireless, which is handy for things like incoming calls. Use of the Navigator app requires Bluetooth, and it’s here that you find all of your adjustment options like equalization, firmware updates, microphone gain/monitoring, test mode, and toggling on/off the voice prompt. You can create multiple profiles within the app as well for easy switching, which is helpful. Overall, I feel like this headset provides a lot of value. I do a lot of online work and the microphone’s clarity allows this to serve a work purpose as well as play, and as someone with both gaming PCs and an Xbox Series X, this covers me across both. I especially like the dual wireless/Bluetooth connectivity (and you can even add additional wireless dongles), which is helpful. I really can’t find anything to fault with it other than a slight learning curve keeping the control buttons straight on the headset: I occasionally clicked the wrong button. But that’s very minor and easily overcome, and so this deserves to be anyone’s short list for a new gaming headset. Recommended.

As the title implies, this is a really awesome Xbox Series S/X and PC headset. I've used it with all three devices (an Xbox Series S, a Series X, and multiple PCs). It works really well either wirelessly via Bluetooth or in wired mode. The Bluetooth 5.2 support ensures near zero latency in audio and microphone performance. With supported games and software, the Dolby Atmos 3D Audio is very noticeable with really fantastic gameplay audio and music. The advertised 60 hour+ battery life has worked as advertised so far. I've used for roughly half that amount of time so far with no issues. The longest session I've had was 8 hours with no issue as well. The base station also makes it really convenient to store and charge the headphones. You can also simply flip up the microphone to mute yourself which makes it really easy to mute quickly in a pinch. Overall, I highly recommend these headphones for gaming, music or calls and it works great on both Xbox's and PCs. The Navigator app also works really well to manage the headphones and adjust settings as needed.

I have been using the RIG R8 PRO HX Dual Wireless Gaming Headset with my Xbox Series X, and I can honestly say this is one of the best headsets I have used for gaming. The wireless connection is excellent, giving me a secure and lag-free experience while I play. I also like that it offers up to 30 feet of wireless range, so I still have freedom to move around without losing connection. The charging base station is another feature I really appreciate because it keeps the headset charged and ready to go, and the battery life is outstanding with up to 60 hours of wireless audio on a single charge. The sound quality on this headset is impressive. The high-sensitivity speaker drivers deliver powerful, detailed audio, and the bass sounds rich without being overwhelming. When using Dolby Atmos for Headphones, the 3D audio makes gaming even more immersive and helps me react faster because I can hear direction and movement with much better precision. This makes a real difference during intense gameplay, especially when every sound cue matters. Comfort is another reason I enjoy this headset so much. The Snap-Fit size adjustments and self-adjusting head strap help it fit very well, and the ear cups do a great job of blocking outside noise so I can stay focused. The microphone also performs very well, with clear voice quality and a convenient flip-up mute feature. I like having on-ear controls for volume, game, and chat balance, and mic monitoring, because they adjust quickly and easily while I am gaming. On top of that, the frame feels very durable and sturdy, so I have confidence it will last. Overall, this is a fantastic headset for Xbox gaming, and I am very happy with its performance, comfort, and sound quality.

This review is on a RIG R8 SPECTRE PRO HX Dual Wireless Gaming Headset with Graphene Drivers and Base Station for Xbox. I am totally satisfied with this headset. They sound great with included Dolby Atmos. I love the replacement design concept as most headset pads wear out. Unless you sit on them or throw them around it should last a long time. The pads are really easy to replace. The are held on by magnets so just order another set when needed and slap them on. You can design your own and replace the outer shell or buy some of their own designs. I love the RGB lights on the charging base and dongle. I would like to see some on the next headset. It feels light and is a little on the tight side so it won't fall off easily. It connected easily to my phone and XBOX. There is a USB-C dongle with adapter that can be either plugged into the base or XBOX. Signal held while walking around in the room. You can download the RIG R-PRO NAVIGATOR for customization. The app has 3 profiles to custom setup. You can do updates over Bluetooth connection with phone. There is microphone gain and monitoring so if you hear your voice while talking you can adjust it down. Volume level protection is an option. There is an equalizer to play with. Options are: No EQ, FPS, Bass Boost, Voice Boost, Clarity and Custom. Power off timer is in the app as well as other test and help functions. I would recommend this pair for anyone about to purchase a new headset.

I think the strangest thing about these is that the microphone is on the right ear instead of the left like every single other headset I have every used or owned, this has messed me up way too often as I’ll reach up with my left hand to utilize the lift to mute feature and realize there is not mic. This may be stupid and I did get used to it after a few days, but it was definitely an experience that I was like “I didn’t realize I was so set in my ways” until now. Also, the other thing I didn’t realize I would have a hard time living without is the base station, why aren’t these standard with all gaming headsets? You put it down on the base it disconnects and starts charging, when you pick it up it turns on, connects and you are good to go, you never have a dead headset. They go on comfortable and have a little bit of a tight squeeze to them but nothing uncomfortable, but also tight enough that if you bend over to pick something up they don’t just fall off your head like a few other headsets that I own. So, I really appreciate the fit. The sound quality is excellent and really gives you situational awareness for gaming. I introduced my son to headsets over speakers on the Xbox and hearing someone approach is quite the experience for those uninitiated. With the base station these are perfect to pair with the Xbox and use, however, as much as I like them, I won’t use them for my personal gaming headset because it isn’t true dual audio. You cannot stream audio from Bluetooth and wireless at the same exact time, it will cut out the Bluetooth audio, if this is something you prefer then it is perfect and there is a button to switch between Bluetooth, wireless, and duel(where cuts over to the wireless connection and interrupts the Bluetooth connection). Pros: Comfortable Wired, wireless, Bluetooth Lift to mute Button to switch between wireless and Bluetooth Docking station Awesome audio quality Cons: Duel audio cannot do simultaneous streaming Overall, these are excellent and are absolutely perfect for using with the Xbox as there is a home for them to go each and every time me or my kids are done paying on the Xbox.

My son and I are heavy gamers, and a good quality headset is a must. This device checks all the boxes and feels high quality out of the box. Setup is as simple as plugging the base into a USB port on the back of the xBox and the doogle into the Xbox on the front of the console. Initially, I left it on the base for two hours and it was fully charged. All the controls are easy to access, and the earmuffs are large and comfortable. The top band is heavily padded as well and works well for long gaming sessions. It does not get hot and the voice cancelling works very well. The mic is sturdy and I really like that it can be easily flipped up to mute. The base is a great place to store when not in use, but it can be somewhat of a challenge finding a place to place it close to your console if you have limited space. It is nice that you can easily see that it is charging correctly so you do not unexpectedly end up with a dead headset. The sound quality is amazing and makes games more immersive. If you are looking for a decently priced, high-quality headset, this will meet all your requirements.

This RIG R8 Pro HX has instantly become my favorite gaming headset for three reasons- an RGB base charging station that is also a USB pass-through hub; the headset's default duo mode whereby you automatically connect wirelessly to your gaming console/PC and phone by Bluetooth; and terrific sound clarity and separation. Focusing on the sound, the graphene drivers do make a difference- the sound clarity is outstanding! Couple that with Dolby Atmos and you get killer gaming audio with distinct sound separation and spatial awareness. A couple of notes here - Dolby Atmos may not automatically be on your gaming system/pc - you may have to download it and set it up with the RIG R8 headset. Also, for best gaming sound I recommend going to the Equalizer on the RIG app and setting it on the FPS setting. You can connect the Headset wirelessly two different ways, by plugging the USB dongle directly into your gaming system/PC or by plugging it into the RGB base charging station. The RIG quick start guide to me wasn't very clear on this point at first until I researched it a little further. Anyway, I found it very convenient to leave the base charging station plugged into my PC and plug the dongle into the base. When leaving the headphones on the charging base the RGB will be red unless the headphones are charged to 100%, in which case the RGB will revert to whatever your color setting was. There's an RGB button to change colors including a rainbow effect. The headphones can also be plugged directly into your system if you want to go wired. The mic is a noise cancelling boom mic that turns on when swinging it down into position. The duo mode is the default for the headset. The other modes are Game and Bluetooth. Change modes by pressing the Bluetooth button. I like using the Duo mode so I don't miss any important calls while gaming. Included with the headset is the RGB base/charging station, USB-C to A cable, USB-C adapter, USB-C dongle, snap lock mod plates, and quick start guide. The snap lock mod plates are simply the ear cushions that attach magnetically and custom styled ones are available but not included. Overall, the high-quality audio coupled with the RGB charging/USB pass-through base and duo connection mode makes this headset an excellent choice for gaming.

Ok, so honestly for this price point, this was not what I was expecting. Not in a good way. There are some neat futures that I do like. But one key future for me just keeps me from giving these a 5 star. That future is their dual mode future. I was expecting to be able to watch YouTube on my phone while playing games on the Xbox at the same time. But that was not the case. I could be watching YouTube on my phone no problem, but as soon as I would turn on Xbox, it would mute my phone. I can then only hear YouTube on my phone, when I would select Bluetooth mode. But if I would select dual mode, it would play Xbox sound but not YouTube on phone. I have a couple other headsets that I am able to do both at the same time. So, I thought these would be that way as well. I am also now used to the mic being on the left. These have it on the right. Not a deal breaker but just not used to it. I do love a push up mic to mute. These are a bit stiff but still has that future. The base is a nice touch and magnetic so easy to play the headset in and know it is seated correctly. Just have to make sure you put it in the right way. I like that you plug the base itself in thru the bottom and that they have a few ways to run the cord out. You then can plug it into your console or PC and on the top of the base you can plug the dongle in. This is great as it then only uses up 1 plug on your console. Or you can plug the base into the wall and the dongle directly into the console. I do have a complaint though with how the dongle is. I would prefer it to be more like a USB stick and just straight out. They have it so that it's like an L shape. If you plug dongle directly it, especially on PC, it can get in the way of using other ports. I would rather it straight out or see them provide at least an extension cord of some kind that would allow you to plug into that and allow too not interfere with other ports. I feel these are also a bit tight. Not as comfortable as other headsets I have used. Maybe over time as they get worn in, they may become more comfortable, but out of the box, not as much. They seem to sound pretty good though. Even the mic was not that bad from what others told me. You can use the app thru phone and do some tweaking. I like having mic tone on so I can hear myself and always a plus if it is a good volume. These were, granted only a couple settings to choose from but still the highest setting I had no issues hearing myself. Overall, not too bad, and I would have easily given them a 5 star had I been able to listen to YouTube on my phone while also playing games. I do this a lot, especially in between matches/rounds.

First of all, I have to say I've never had such an easy time setting up and pairing a headset to my Xbox. It recognized it and a quick download of the Dolby app (which I already have for another headset) and it worked, just as simple as that. The next thing is they feel premium and sound pretty good overall. They have a well-balanced sound with punchy bass and solid mid tones and highs. With the Dolby turned on, on games that support it, you'll notice that you can hear things all around you from behind, in front or to the side which is pretty cool and essential for FPS games. My other headset supports this too but I like the sound profile of this headset a lot better. The base station is amazing, and I have never had a headset that came with a dedicated charging station quite like this one, that makes it super easy to keep it charged and ready to go when you are. The Bluetooth connectivity is great and makes it so you can pair up to your phone so you can take calls or use another audio source so you have multiple connectivity options. In addition, it works on the PC as well and I think I may end up using it more there as well. I'd recommend giving this one a try, it was pretty good overall and what I like most is just how it just works easily right out of the box. No fussing around waiting to pair or figure out why it's not connecting.

I went into this expecting another mid-range gaming headset that looks great in the box and disappoints within a week. The RIG R8 Spectre Pro HX changed my mind pretty fast. Let's start with what actually matters: the audio. The 40mm graphene drivers are tuned for competitive gaming so individual sounds stand out more clearly rather than blurring into background noise. For FPS gaming specifically, that translates to actual competitive advantage. Footsteps, reloads, directional cues, you hear things you'd normally miss. Paired with Dolby Atmos support and the spatial awareness it brings, this headset earns its price tag on audio alone. The 2.4GHz wireless connection is rock solid with no noticeable latency or dropouts over extended use. Setup is reasonably painless. Plug the cradle base station into the Xbox, connect the USB-C dongle to the cradle, and the Xbox recognizes the headset almost instantly. The base station is a genuine highlight. The RGB charging cradle isn't just functional, it looks great sitting on a TV stand and adds a nice bit of flair while serving as a slick storage solution. I've seen similar setups on Astro A50s at nearly double the price, so having it here is a nice addition. Battery life pushes past 60 hours on a single charge. Build quality is solid without being flashy. The headset is light and comfortable, featuring a mesh fabric headband and earcups with a leather-ish outer edge and mesh fabric where it actually contacts your skin. Long sessions don't turn into cauliflower ear. The boom mic feels sturdy, moves smoothly, and operates at high resolution with a cardioid pickup which helps with outside noise suppression. Callouts come through clean. The SNAP+LOCK mod system is a nice touch. Magnetic connections let you swap out earcup mod-plates and ear cushions for both comfort tweaks and visual customization. Not essential, but the kind of thing you appreciate when you actually use it. Pros: Exceptional audio clarity for the price, bulletproof wireless connection, dead-simple setup, incredible battery life, that RGB base station charging dock, Dolby Atmos included out of the box, lightweight comfort for long sessions. Cons: The dual Bluetooth/2.4GHz connectivity works for calls while gaming, but it doesn't fully mix game audio with music playback. If you're hoping to blend Spotify into your gameplay audio, that's not happening here. The plastic construction, while light, doesn't scream premium. And the mod-plates that make it really pop are sold separately, which feels like a missed opportunity at this price point. Bottom line: This headset makes a strong case for itself against competitors like the Astro A50, delivering a large portion of that high-end experience at a fraction of the cost. For Xbox and PC gamers who want serious audio, wireless reliability, and a charging dock without taking out a second mortgage, the R8 Spectre Pro HX is a straightforward recommendation.

The RIG R8 Headphones come with either a dongle or Bluetooth setup. The dongle has a USB-C connector with a USB-C to USB-A adapter. The problem is that even when you turn off the headset your speakers are still off until you also unplug the dongle. This is not a problem with the Bluetooth setup. You can also use the headset via a wired connection. There is a USB-C connector at the bottom of the right earpiece. You must download the RIG R-Pro Navigator app to update your headset. The app allows for some customization for the headset. The battery is in the Left earpiece for easy removal and changing. A fully charged battery should last about 60 hours. Battery charging is done by placing the headset in the charging base. The base lights will turn red and go back to color after completely charging. The headset also supports the Dolby Atmos; you must purchase a subscription and download the Dolby Access app. I looked at the ratings for this application and decided not to purchase it. The headset is over the ear and fits comfortably to the head. This headset fit snuggly to my head and does not move or fall off if I bend over. The volume is controlled by a turn wheel. The noise cancellation is controlled by the button on the right headset. The playback is excellent, but probably better is the Dolby feature worked on my windows platform which is completely up to date.
