A: Hi, you can change the settings in the ring app to play different sounds for different items, but the fun part is if you have an Alexa you can train her to say stuff like Nothing important but I think your front door is opened. Everytime the front porch is opened, or a classic when my living room door is opened. Welcome to the party.....pal. And when doors and windows that are rarely opened (had break ins with those) she'll say stuff like Get out and a lot of other words that I am sure Best Buy wouldn't like me to use on here. Alexa can also open up songs in Amazon Music or Sirus XM when a door or window is opened which I'll also use when and if we go on vacation (thanks to the pandemic) .
Q: is this a 2nd generation system? i don't see that in the description.
A: A Best Buy online chat agent told me it is a 2nd Generation system.
A: Nothing - you get nothing with the basic plan and the security system. There is no reason to have a basic subscription. The only way this system as a security system works is with the Protect Plus plan - 24/7 monitoring. The alarm will be inside your house, isn't terribly loud, and won't deter a thief.
Q: I have an ADT alarm now. With this work with my existing window door sensors?

If you would like the windows and doors to be protected, you will want to replace the existing sensors with Ring Contact Sensors, of which (4) are included in the 8-Piece Security Kit. A: Yes it’s a subscription. It will ask for you to sign up but you don’t have to if you don’t want it.
Q: Does the 2nd generation contact sensors work with the 1st generation base station?
A: Yes, the gen1 and gen2 bit and pieces are interchangeable.
A: It has been work well for us. No problem so far what so ever. As long as you clean the area, wipe all the dusk of, the adhesive should work well.
Q: does it come with a camera or is the separate
A: This bundle does not come with a camera but they have a another bundle with that option

Even in 2024, this Ring Alarm kit is still great.
Even in 2024, this Ring Alarm kit is still worth it. The newer model, Ring Alarm "Pro" adds in a couple features, most notably an eero router, but if you don't need mesh coverage because you have a smaller home, you mostly get everything else you would want in a lower priced package. Setup is just as easy, and compatible with current gen Ring motion detectors, sensors, and Ring Flood and Freeze sensors.

Great value for Home Security
I’ve had a Ring Door Bell, flood light cameras, Smart Carbon Monoxide And smoke detectors in my home for a while. This product truly brings out the true potential in those smart home components and has simplified the process of Disarming and Arming my home without the need for an app. The system installed easily, it looks clean and timeless makes a pleasant sound when the doors open! I’ve accidentally tripped the alarm a few times and you can really hear it. Works with Alexa devices for added convenience! I’m truly glad I purchased this, absolutely one of my best Smart Home purchases yet! I strongly recommend!
