I upgraded from the Note II due to my old phone not working anymore. I honestly think that this phone is a bit overpriced for what you get. The camera is nice but nothing new compared with the other phones on the market. The battery lasts quite a long time, but I wonder how long before it will start losing capacity. I am not as much of a fan of the curved edge nor the elongated shape of the phone, although the display is a nice upgrade. The pen is definitely an upgrade but is not something I find myself using any more than I did before. If your current phone is working fine, I'd say hold out for the next big thing especially for the cost of this phone. If yours died, like mine, or if you get a super great deal, then its not a bad option.

I've owned a Note 4, the Note 8, this phone and now have the Note 10+. I loved the Note 4, the note 8 was great, and the Note 10+ is the best phone I've ever owned. Obviously, I like the note series except for this phone. At first it started out great. Camera was great, SPen great, battery pretty good except for the fact you could not replace it. It had a 3.5mm headphone jack, but with bluetooth headphones, I only used it once in a while. But then issues started coming up. The battery didn't last as long after only 4 months of use. I would find myself charging after lunch just so that I would have enough battery to charge again before bed. Plenty of users love the battery life on this phone. Maybe mine was defective or maybe it was my use. However, others claimed 5 to 6 hour screen time, everything on (Always on display, sync, widgets etc) and a day or 2 of battery life. I never came close to that. Maybe they have some secret that I don't know about but if I'm spending this much on a phone, I'd hope it would last the whole day with all the features on (My Note 10+ does this). The other issue I had was with the camera. I don't know if it was because of an update or some other defect ( I did not drop it or anything) but when I would zoom in, it would buzz and live focus was blurry and a mess). I googled it and other users had the same issue so I was not alone. Based on the samsung community websites, they said send it back to samsung so that it could be fixed. Pass. I traded it in for the Note 10+. I figured the trade in value from Best Buy was more than what I would get selling it especially if the buyer found out of all the issues. They'd probably want their money back. The reason I gave it 3 stars out of 5 was because it seems to be a great phone for other people and many owners love it. Mine just didn't work out and I would actually give it 2 stars for terrible battery life and camera issues. I would still recommend it to a friend that likes Samsung, Android or the Note series. It is obviously cheaper than the Note 10, but I would also recommend the Note 8 if you wanted something cheaper than the Note 9. I would just warn them to look our for the issues I had and be more proactive if they run into those same issues. I don't have the time or patience to send the phone to samsung just so that they can give me a refurb Note 9. I was fine with trading it in for the latest and greatest. If you value money more than I do lol, this is a great phone and worth it, as long as you don't have the camera issues that other users and myself have had.

Happy only with memory capacity, I don't know but I feel like each time they release new update. They make it more complicated. Especially that I am not able to connect my phone to my car over bluetooth to make a call. Maybe they think it is a safety feature or it could be a gap but either way I didn't like that. The Camera is amazing. The memory is great. One more important thing, I broke my screen and the back of the phone even with cover and protecting screen. In general I am thinking to try google phone or go back to Iphone.

This is my first Note, and this phone is definitely a step up from my Galaxy S7 Edge. The smartest thing I did was buy a Unlocked phone, therefore, I don't have wasted memory with a bunch of bloatware from my carrier. One positive side, the battery life is great, I can go 24 hours b4 needing to charge it and the camera takes great pics. On the downside, I really wish the phone was a tad bit bigger, and because I got a Unlocked phone, the wifi-calling option and visual voicemail, I'm used to from At&t doesn't seem to be available (as of yet) If you want to save a few dollars, get the S9+ because having this SPen, really doesn't seem worth it.

I am not satisfied to this product because it worked slowly after while. It is not worth to price. However, it has powerful video camera.

After using my Note 3 since it first came out, I decided to upgrade to this Note 9. Big mistake. The screen, speed and sound are much nicer but that's where it ends. You would think after several years, Samsung and others would have made some mass improvements. The new software is really bad compared to the old which was easy to get around. The old screens were flat which made for easy screen protection, the curved edges do not hold one on for long. My old Note 3 still has the original Otterbox on it that came with a free screen protector which is also still on it. The glass is very slick and is not very responsive and is really hard to type on. The interface is really a pain to get around in. Guess that is why they are changing in 2019. I will be taking this phone back and trading it in on a Google Pixel or something else with a flat screen that you can cover and protect easier. Even the cases you buy don't cover the lower corner where the pen goes.

Its a solid phone, functions just like a Samsung should but, I don't know what makes the price so high, there isn't anything new or revolutionary about it. Probably should have just bought a Note8 and saved some money

It is a nice phone but it has been much more difficult to transition from an iPhone than expected. For example, you cannot sync your Outlook contacts and calendar (after a week of beating my head against a wall, I did find a 3rd party hack ap that I am using), the biometrics while ambitious are not reliable, and there is no Find Friends ap for the family to keep up with one another. Oh, and there is no voicemail program built into the phone, you have to find a 3rd party ap if you want visual voicemail. It just seems like a pretty big phone component to have missing from a phone.

To put things in perspective... I currently have the following phones. iPhone xr, Galaxy note 9, one plus 6, Galaxy s8 active, Galaxy 7, iPhone 7, huewai 6 and 8. I love phones, it's a problem. But my point is that I know my way around settings to cure most issues I may have but this one is the worst. I'm constantly pocket dialing people, the finger print scanner is slow and inaccurate, face recognition is slow if it even works. It's uncomfortable to hold, finger print scanner is a stretch to reach and when I shop for gloves I have to buy xL so that's just wrong. I'm not even going to tell you my favorite phone cause I don't want this to look like a sales pitch. I live in Florida and I don't work for anyone of importance. Look at any my list of phones, pick any of them and you will like it better than the note 9. I've been using it since 4/4/19 trying to get used to it. I finally retired it and started using one of my old phones.

I had the original Note phone and loved it. Got it new for $50 and it worked for years. Obviously this new model is terrific, but I cannot believe I spent so much. The phone and the features are great, but because of the price I immediately had buyer's remorse.

I bought my Samsung galaxy Note 9 unlocked from Best Buy on September 15, 2018 and due to our most recent Hurricane Laura, here in Louisiana,I & my family evacuated. During evacuation my origonal Lavender stylus pen fell out of my phone & broke. I called Best buy for a replacement & was told no replacement, I called my carrier AT&T & Samsung ( told no replacement ) & tried Amazon( no lavender & no s-pen w/ bluetooth)..Where Am I supposed to get an exact replacement for my phone from?? My phone is not yet even 2 yrs. Old, yet..Reviews state that this is a well known fault of Samsungs doing. Does anyone know where I can find a lavender s-pen, with Bluetooth, for my Note 9 ??

I had a note 4 for 4 years no problems so moving to the note 9 I felt was a great idea. However, the edges are an issue. I have already had to replace a cracked screen. You can not purchase an all encompassing case because of the edges. Dear Samsung, I dont need the edges. The few features that are possible with edges are 1. Unnecessary and 2. Not worth needing to replace my screen. Thanks but no thanks. Other than that I love my note. However, I am super stressed about dropping it or even letting my 9 year old touch it because I do not want to have it to have a cracked screen again.

Had major issues with the wifi connection and went through total aggravation trying to get it repaired. There is no Samsung certified technician in my area. The geek squad was useless, so my only choice of getting the phone fixed was mailing it into Samsung to have the motherboard replaced. Luckily I had a old phone I could use while the note 9 was being repaired. After getting the phone back everything seemed to be working properly until I took some evening pictures and they have glowing light that can't be corrected.

Nice phone with some attractive features. But it misses few important user friendly. The camera preview shows all images and videos downloaded from whatsapp, etc. This annoys and not able to preview photos taken from camera. Also not able to scroll content typed for texting if content is long. You cant review what you typed until u send it.

If you buy this phone unlocked you will not get certain features that carriers offer. Example I have verizon, I was unable to video call people on verizon or other carriers. Swapped for verizon specific phone and problem solved

When I purchased Samsung Galaxy S9, I looked amazing however, when somebody called me through WhatsApp with camera, weird sound, like sizzle. So, I returned it and got iPhone XS Max.

Some phones just feel right, this is not one of those. Actually packaged this up and tried to return to store, regrettably I was past my return window.
