One of the best consumer SATA SSD's on the market, very fast and very reliable. These refurbished drives when discounted (500GB at $40 and 1TB at $70) are excellent deals (would avoid whenever not discounted to those prices or lower and just wait). I've bought multiple of these Geek Squad refurbished Samsung drives and have not had any issues and they've all had very little usage as you can see in my photos for three 500GB drives I purchased December 2021. I can confidently recommend these

Solid drive, plenty of speed and easy to install. This was a great choice for a raltively cheap SSD. While it comes with 466GB after installation, the speed handles everything I can throw at it.

Got it on sale 500gb for $30 to use as external for ps4. Wasn't able to check prior usage but it did boost load times pretty noticeably. Overall good deal for the price.

Samsung SSDs are top quality in the market. SSD comes with Samsung's migration software and makes transition to a new SSD easy and straightforward. So far, this SSD works without any problems. Samsung's Samsung Magician Software keeps it updated with the latest firmware. You can also check the warranty information using this software. I bought Geek Squad Certified Refurbished Samsung SSD and it was still under Samsung's 5 year warranty.

Great refurbished drive. No problems setting it up. Would buy again.

The ssd formats for 10 minutes and windows says it fails and Mac OS can’t even initialize it. I bet this wouldn’t happen with a new ssd. I’ve tried to reset the ssd multiple times and always gave me an error. Mac OS doesn’t do anything and sits on a loading bar in disk utility.

What a great deal! Could have been the best money I ever spent. The Samsung software worked flawlessly to clone my 1 tb (315 gb used) to this 512 gb ssd. Now my old laptop is running like a brand new one. Awesome deal on one of the few high quality 2 1/2" form factor ssd hard drives. Lighting fast.

This Samsung Geek Squad Certified Refurbished 870 EVO 500 GB SATA Solid State Drive worked just like a new one! Much faster than the old spinning hard drive in my 10 year old laptop running Windows 10 (which won't upgrade to Windows 11). A great upgrade for only $25. Was easy to clone old hard drive using Sabrent cable connecting this new SSD to laptop USB port and using free downloaded Samsung Data Migration software.

Breathed some life into an old laptop with this thing. Barely costs more than a significantly lower-grade SSD would, and I can see no impact from whatever previous use it had as a refurbished drive. Considering how increasingly rare Sata 2.5" SSDs are getting, I'd call this a good deal.

Have been solid SSD's so far. I upgraded my entire family's spinning drives to these this summer. They have inexpensive 6 year old laptops now flying on Windows 10. Can't beat the price and you can also use Samsung's Cloning software for free with any of their drive. This was a big bonus for me!

When anyone asked me about a storage drive upgrade I point them to Samsung drives. They are solid and have good value for the performance increase. This most recent order I replaced an old laptop HDD 2.5in 5400 rpm drive with one of these 870 Evo drives and the performance was night and day. Moving from 125MBps to 550MBps gave the computer more life and actually allowed the owner to get work done. I highly recommend these Samsung Evo drives!

Came packaged well, had no issues installing. Ran like new. I recommend buying it.

This drive has been perfect so far and easy to use. I've bought several of these drives and been very happy on how easy it is to copy the existing drive to this new drive. The speed is great. Things load so much faster than my previous drive.

Using daily as a cache drive in an unraid server. In service for about 600 hrs so far. Fast, reliable. It’s working so well I’m considering moving it to my primary server to replace an older SSD. Can’t go wrong with Samsung and an open box/referb drive at this price point is a great deal.

Great SSD especially for SATA and the $40 I got it for, but it doesn't come with mounting screws or a SATA cable. I had to buy a 2.5" to 3.5" dock to get the screws and had to buy a SATA cable separately.

[Employee of bestbuy] Works great as refurbished. No complaints nor loss of speed.

I bought a used HP EliteBook laptop, which is at least 10 years old, more than 18 mos ago. The old 500 GB hard drive was getting very slow at start up, not only because it is an old mechanical drive, but also because it is over 80% full. I saw this Samsung Refurbished Solid State Drive at a low price on Best Buy. After cloning and installing, the only issue I have with the new drive is that when I restart (Windows 10), I get error messages that no drive is found. I don't know if the issue is with the BIOS. I just shut down and turn it back on instead of restarting. Not a big deal. SSD drives should consume less power than mechanical hard drives. I don't notice much of a difference in how long the batteries last. There may be a slight difference though. In terms of performance, the difference is very noticeable with the new SSD. It is much faster, especially at start up. I'm posting my review after a few wks of use. I am pleased overall.

Great value, good for upgrading old laptop or desktop, solid speed for a reasonable price, compatible with all generations of SATA protocols

If you can manage to get a hold of one of these for the right price, it is not a bad way to go for cheap storage. I typically buy these certified refurbished units for rebuilds. I install them into the laptop loading OS, download the latest drivers, and install the Samsung magician software to analyze the drive. So far I have not gotten one of these geek squad units that has had more than one terabyte written, ad has been in less than good health. If you’re looking for a second drive, or to get an old computer, running better than when it was new if it shipped with a mechanical drive not a bad way to go.
