When we started looking for speakers to help us hear the TV better I had this idea of just putting a speaker or two at the back of the living room, maybe blue-tooth connected to the TV speaker. We sit about 18 feet away and have to deal with the washer etc. The sound bar gave us clearer speech and let us lower the volume. Our daughter sits about 8 feet away at the front of the room and complains about the volume we need at the back of the room. The Rear speaker kit does not provide constant TV sound as we were originally hoping. But the are really cool when watching things like the Disney channel. When a show starts and the stars or whatever fly towards the front of the screen the sound appears to continues through the room and out the rear window. It depends on how much TV you watch. They make the system close as we will get to true movie theater surround sound. So for some of our DVD's and Netflix the speakers can make a difference. To watch regular programming they make very little difference and I have found no other way to have them play louder to match the volume you get sitting close to the front speakers.

Hi Addedsurroundsound,
Thank you for purchasing the SWA-9500S and for sharing your user experience with this Samsung rear speaker kit. By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.
3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.
4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control. Press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.
I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.

I bought these wireless speakers based on the feedback I read in the reviews. I bought a new Samsung tv and soundbar and was hoping these wireless speakers would enhance the surround sound. I was wrong. I could not get the volume control to match the soundbar volume. I spoke to a tech twice and did not get the issue resolved. The tech suggested to me to make configuration changes to my Xfinity modem. I should not have to do this. I returned the speakers. I would not recommend these speakers.

Bought these speakers. I would give them a 3 out of 10. Barley can hear them. I wouldn’t buy these again unless Samsung does a firmware upgrade to make them louder

Hello DewayneD,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers. I am sorry to see the volume did not live up to your expectations.
Once the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers are connected to a compatible Samsung soundbar, the soundbar remote is then used to control the volume level of the rear kit. Press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.
Also make sure that you change the Sound Mode on the Soundbar to Surround, Game, or Adaptive Sound as these will send the rear channels to the speakers correctly. Check the Digital Audio Format within your TV. It should be set to Bitstream, Auto, or Pass-Through. If it is set to PCM then the rear channels will not play correctly.

I have the Q900a 7.1.2 soundbar and pairing was easy. I maxed out the the “rear front” and “rear top” volume in the settings on the soundbar to 6 on each. With the speakers sitting 12” away from my head, it was quiet until i turned the soundbar up to 20. By then the soundbar drowns out any other sound. I made sure to go to Netflix and make sure it was a atmos show (6underground and red notice) maybe i had a lemon.

Hi Josh,
I am sorry to hear the experience did not match your expectations with the SWA-9500S Rear Speaker Kit, and that your troubleshooting attempts did not resolve the issue. We completely understand your frustration and are here to help.
You may want to try manually adjusting the sound for each frequency band to further fine tune the audio to your liking. Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)
Additionally, you can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
I hope these tips help. For additional assistance optimizing the audio of your new soundbar to your liking, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

When powered on for the first time, the rear speakers should automatically connect wirelessly. If the auto-connection process fails, you can try manually connecting the rears to the soundbar.
1. Plug the Surround speakers’ power cord into an electrical outlet to turn on the Surround speakers. The LINK LED indicator (blue LED) on the rear of left surround speaker will blink quickly. If the LINK LED does not blink, please see step 6.

4. Connect Soundbar and Surround Speakers Press the Up button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds until the “ID SET” message appears on the Soundbar’s display. The message will disappear shortly. (If your Soundbar does not have a display window and only LED indicators, please refer to the LED information below.)
• After the ID SET process is successful, the Soundbar will turn on automatically.
5. Check the connection complete The LINK LED stops blinking and changes to solid blue when the Soundbar and surround speakers are successfully linked. Please turn off the Soundbar and turn it back on. Confirm that the LINK LED is blue. (It may take a minute depending on the environment.)
6. LED Indicator’s status LINK (Blue) On: Connected with the Soundbar.
LINK (Blue) Blinking fast (at an interval of around 0.5 second) : Surround speakers are in ID SET mode.
• Check if the Soundbar is turned on and in ID SET mode.
• Repeat steps 3 through 5. LINK (Blue) Blinking slow (at an interval of around 1 second) : Previously connected to a Soundbar but cannot currently find it.
• Check if the Soundbar is turned on.
• If the LINK LED keeps blinking slowly even when the Soundbar is turned on,

2. Repeat steps 3 through 5.

HectorP,
We are happy to help with the Samsung SWA-9500S wireless rear speaker kits issues with connecting to your soundbar.
If the LED light is solid blue, the rear speakers are connected to your soundbar.
If the LED light is blinking blue, the rear speakers are reconnecting the connection:
• Check if the power cable attached to the main soundbar unit is properly connected or wait about 5 minutes
• Turn off the soundbar by pressing the power button on the main soundbar unit. Configure "ID SET" using the soundbar's remote control, then turn the soundbar back on.
If the LED light is blinking red and blue, there is a malfunction and will require service.
If the above troubleshooting steps do not resolve this issue, please contact Samsung soundbar support so that we can better troubleshoot this issue and provide further steps towards a solution at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST (Ask for Soundbars), 7 days a week. Speakers would not play after connecting to soundbar.

Hello TnTMDB,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers. I am sorry that your setup has been less than ideal.
If your rear speakers each have a SOLID BLUE LED on the back then you are connected. If you see a blinking BLUE LED then they have not been paired completely. If you see a RED LED then they haven't started the pairing process.
I would do a hard reset on your Soundbar then re-pair your rear speakers. With the Soundbar powered ON, press and hold the - & + (VOLUME UP/DOWN) buttons on the soundbar unit itself. After roughly 5 seconds, you will see "INIT OK" scroll across the LED display.

I am so disappointed with the SWA-9500S/ZA. I wasn’t told by any of the employees that I would have to purchase another sound-bar to get the wireless speakers to connect. I was under the impression they would connect to my new Samsung Tv and or the Samsung sound-bar that I have already. Went back to the store to purchase a sound-bar that would connect. It took the employee a while to determine which sound-bar would be compatible with SWA-9500S/ZA. Purchased the Q600B and could not get the speakers to connect to the sound-bar. I’ve been researching online trying to find a compatible sound-bar and I really can’t find any information.
