I believed the rear speakers would be a good addition to my soundbar and subwoofer. I am somewhat torn however. The Good: They are truly wireless speakers and only require a cable for electricity which is a huge plus! Setup takes just minutes after mounting to a decent stand and system recognized them almost instantly. In major movie scenes and in video games that support surround, they really stand out and makes you feel as you are at the center of the action. Dolby atmos supported movies and apps do work as advertised The Not so Good: My main gripe and reason for not giving 4 stars is that in between big movie scenes they seem rather quiet, even when I turned their volume to the max. I put my ear to them while a movie was playing and they were both playing sounds during quiet scenes, just not enough to be noticeable on my couch not even 2 feet away. They are a bit heavy so make sure to get a good stand. Also the cable to connect to the outlet is a measly 4-5 feet. Not really ideal for a large open living room like mine. In conclusion I would recommend these only if you can overlook its slight drawbacks.

the speakers allows 5.1.4 when added to some of the supported 3.1.2 Samsung soundbars. unfortunately the rear speakers sound levels are relatively weaker compared to soundbar right/left channels. even when set to maximum adjust levels they are barely noticeable and drowned out by much louder front channel sounds. for a small bedroom where the front channel overpowers the rear spears seem to be useless. for bigger rooms ( and living rooms etc) it might work when volumes are raised up very loud and one can hear the rear speakers. brand new prices are too expensive but refurbished prices might justify getting it for some situations where rear speaker sound can be heard with high volume. also the speakers are quite big and traditional rear speaker stand might not be able to support it.

Got these to pair with my HW-S61D soundbar. Unfortunately they will not pair with the soundbar which is a shame because they are much better speaker than the SWA-9200S. These are true Dolby Atmos speakers with an upfiring speaker which the SWA-9200S does not have. A real bummer since I got these for a good price open box in Excellent condition. Too bad Samsung doesn't have a more unified open use ecosystem for their wireless subwoofers and speakers.

Bought these rear speakers to complete my Dolby Atmos surround sound system with my HW-Q700A soundbar setup. Tried every configuration and setting possible but can get no more than a whisper of sound from these speakers. You can tell that they are quality built and they look great but performance is almost nil. I would expect that there could be some kind of firmware update that would solve this issue but, thus far, have not been able to find one.

HI PSRick,
Thank you for purchasing the Samsung SWA-9500S Rear Speaker Kit. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the surround sound system. By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.
3) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control. Press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.
I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment. Should you need further assistance with this issue or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

Hello AJay,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers. I am sorry to see that your time with them has not been ideal.
There are multiple ways you can adjust your rear speakers for a better overall experience. Using the Soundbar remote press the CH LEVEL button until you see REAR LEVEL or REAR TOP LEVEL. Use the UP/DOWN buttons on the same remote to adjust the volume of each channel between -6 to +6.
Make sure you are using Surround, Adaptive, or Game Sound mode on your Soundbar. If you are using Standard it will not properly send audio to the rear speakers. Additionally, check the Digital Audio Format of your TV to make sure it is on Auto, Pass-Through or Bitstream. If it is set to PCM then it will only play in stereo and the rear speakers will not play properly.
