Category 6a standard was defined in February 2008 in TIA/EIA-568-B.2-10. Cat6a can currently support 10 Gbit/s applications up to a maximum distance of 100 meters (330 ft). Improved specifications, particularly in the area of Alien Cross-talk (AXT) as compared to category 6 which exhibited high alien noise in high frequencies.
