I was expecting a little more from Seinheisser if I am being quite honest. The sound is clear but there is not enough bass for me. Bass does not feel punchy enough for me. If you are a bass lover I would recommend the Skullcandy Crusher Evo. Does rattle your head like crazy!

I am a member of Best Buy’s Technical Insider Network, TIN for short. Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews. Summary: The 450BT sound is crisp, clean, and bright. So bright that I had to turn down the treble and boost the base in the Sennheiser application. The ANC reduces constant ambient noise, such as a computer fan, to a little more than half. Sounds such as typing, doors closing, or cars driving by is reduced by a little but not enough to make my listening experience truly immersive. Hands free calling works well. The people I spoke with over the phone did not realize I was wearing a wireless headset that did not have a dedicated microphone boom. The controls on the right ear cup are useful, well placed, and responsive while connected too my phone over Bluetooth. Only ANC is functional when connected over the included stereo cable. The headphones are attractive and low profile. You can get away with walking with these on the street without looking like a dork. Construction is plastic, light weight, with stiff cushioning. The ear cups can accommodate any size head up to 9 inches from ear to ear. The head band is flexible and is covered with soft padding. The ear cups are smaller than on other headphones I have used at this price point. I have two issues with these headphones. First, the ear cups are too small for my ears. I am forced to push my ears into the back of the ear cups and then fold the ear cups forward to towards the front of my head to get a correct fit. Second, the ear cup padding is very stuff. I have TMJ. The padding puts enough pressure on my jaw that I cannot wear these headphones for more than an hour without discomfort. Please read on for the details. Sound: I started off with the K-Pop single “Pop/Stars” by K/DA, Madison Beer & (G)I-DLE. The very first thing I noticed was how weak the bass was and how bright the highs were. I immediately loaded up Sennheiser’s control app, boosted the base, and dropped the treble. This evened out the sound and brought it more in line with my personal tastes. I followed up with Momoland’s, “Boom Boom”. The base was punchy and fun. Next is a little-known track, “Train Wreck of Electro Swing” from the video game A Hat in Time. This piece if electronica and base heavy. Every sound was crisp, clear, and the base was punchy. I then switched over to Mega Death’s, “Holy Wars… Punishment Due” and “In my Darkest Hour”. The 450BT’s did a great job of representing the guitars, drums, bass guitar, and the vocals. These headphones held their own at all volume levels. Finally, I threw some classical to get a feel for how lengthy homework sessions may go. For this I chose Bach’s “Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins and Orchestra BMW 1043: III.” The violins high pitched violins were distinct and present. The 450BT’s did a good job of representing the orchestra in the background. Overall, I think these headphones did a good of reproducing a rather complicated piece of music. Setup: Setting up the earphones was easy. The very first thig I did was make sure they charged for two hours. Holding the power button for a few seconds put the headphones into sync mode. My iPhone had no issues picking up the 450BT and adding it to the Bluetooth wireless device list. A few seconds later I was listening to my favorite iTunes. I also set these up for use with my Windows 10 laptop. The headphones did protest a bit jumping connection from the iPhone to the computer over Bluetooth. The solution was to turn the iPhone’s Bluetooth off. I have other Bluetooth enabled headphones that swap easily between devices. The 450BT is inconsistent. I never have issues with the iPhone. It is switching devices that give me issues. Sennheiser’s Smart Control app allows for a single configuration item, the Equalizer. The 450BT allows for three adjustments: Bass, Mid, and Treble. There are two presets: Movie and Neutral. You can adjust the three sliders to your personal taste and then save that as a new preset. Personally, I think Sennheiser should have taken a little extra effort here to add a few other presets such as Rock, Jazz, and Classical. The app also reports the 450BT’s battery level and firmware version. Controls: First, the good. The button layout on the right ear cup will take a little practice to get used to. Everything works as advertised. The power button performs triple duty with the Bluetooth sync activation and the noise cancelation, or ANC. Then there is the volume control rocker button, forward/skip/pause switch, and the voice assistance switch. The right ear cup also houses two microphones, the stereo jack, and the USB charging port. The buttons are easily accessible, have good travel when pressed, and are responsive. Pressing any of the buttons immediately activate the corresponding feature on my phone. The same is true with my Windows 10 laptop. However, unlike my iPhone, I can only control the features available through the app I am using. For example, I cannot skip from one YouTube video to another using the skip forward/back features on the right ear cup. Finally, the only 450BT feature you can control while using the headphone jack is the ANC. Construction: The headphones are light weight plastic construction. Even the extension arms and ear cup holders are plastic. The ear cups are soft vinyl covering stiff foam. The head band is stiff enough to hold its shape and flexible enough to allow for larger heads. The head band expands to accommodate a space of about 9 inches from ear to ear. The ear cups are also on a swivel along the Y axis to allow for use with big hair or hats. You can get about 7 inches of clearance from the middle of the ear cup to the top of the head band in the right situation. The ear cups also swivel about 10 degrees forward and back to accommodate different head shapes. Finally, they have a little “L” and “R” molded into the decorative molding on the head band. They are hard to see unless you are looking straight at them. The controls are on the right ear cup. Why I cannot recommend these: The ear cups are too small. The padding is too stiff. The opening is 1-inch wide front to back and 2 ½ inches long from top to bottom. A child will probably do fine with the size and fit. Certainly not your average teenager or adult. If Sennheiser hallowed out the earcups then the comfort issues would vanish. As designed, the padding partially covers the speakers, forces the ear into an unnatural position, and puts undue pressure directly to my jaw’s joint which causes fatigue and pain. To illustrated the point, I load my ears starting from the back of my head, catch the back edge of my ears inside the ear cup, and then fold the earcups over my ears until the earcups rest flat against my head. The tips of my ears touch the speakers. I could wear these flat against my ears, however, these are marketed as over the ear and not on the ear. Also, wearing them flat is equally uncomfortable. I gave these to my youngest. This is most likely the age group these headphones are marketed towards. She gave me similar feedback to what I wrote above. She does not want to wear these headphones. All the positives of these headphones become irrelevant if no one in my household is willing to use them. I own other Sennheiser headphones and am very satisfied with them. The 450BT is not one of them. Human comfort needs to be front and center for headphones at this price point. And then everything else. Thank you for reading this review.

So about a month shy of having these 2 years. Sound quality is very nice as long as I don't have another electronic device between me and the source then there is some distortion and breaking up of the signal. I don't usually wander too far away so not a big issue. My biggest issue is the material covering the head phones it's nice enough but appears to only be glued together on the inside of the part that goes over your ears. A few months ago the one side started to come apart so I stitched it back together. Now the other side is doing the same thing. For the price I wouldn't expect to have to stitch the cover back together on both sides in just under owning these for 2 years. Due to the built in mic not working well for streaming I got another brand headset for half this price and the inside of the ears is stitched. This will be something I pay attention to if I ever look to buy another Sennheiser headset or any headset in the future

bought 2 of these as gifts during Black Friday.. the noise canceling is amazing but it falls short because both sets the right ear seems more powerful than the left year even when we’re placed at store three straight times the same thing happens I kept them, but they are back up headphones for family

As others commented, these are not over the ear. They are on the ear. Ears get smashed, jaw feels pressure. Very good sound, but MOMENTUMS ARE 10X BETTER! I bought a 2nd set for my son, but returning both sets. Both sets purchased at 50% off.... oh well.

[Employee of bestbuy] They’re pretty decent headphones. They clamp on tight so if you have glasses they will be uncomfortable after about 10 minutes but if you take your glasses off then they’re super comfortable for about 2 hours. The Active Noise Cancellation is hit or miss, sometimes it makes a big difference and sometimes I feel like it doesn’t have ANC at all. The actual sound quality is pretty solid, super clear and crisp audio. The volume is decently loud but could stand to be increased, I have bad hearing so these sound about as loud as someone talking to you from 3 feet away when they’re at max volume. Not enough bass, I get that not everyone likes bass but for a $200 pair of headphones it should have at least decent bass, but it’s so low that it makes me sad when the beat drops. Microphone isn’t great, they just put one on because they felt like they had to. Bluetooth connectivity has been a very poor experience, it struggles so hard to function correctly with Windows, if I run any kind of game while listening to music then there’s a 70% chance that something will break. No game audio, but still music, or no music but still got game audio, OR no audio works and you have to shut the headset off and turn it back on again AND restart the apps AND there’s no desktop app, smartphone app only. Works best with your phone. Battery life is awesome though, they last almost all day.

I like these headphones a lot. Just want get that out of the way. They're comfortable, sound great and they look good. There's easily 33 hours of listening / talk time in each complete charge. I had no problems wearing them for long periods of time. I used then for a light workout( I don't recommend using these to workout in.) and they did well, for that session. The noise cancelling is pretty top notch, so I can't be mad at that. There's a little carrying pouch to stuff your muffs in when they're not in use. Not too protective yet effective. There's also 3.5mm aux cord available if you for some reason or another , run out of juice. And hopefully, you'll have a music player with a headphone jack to use it. But it's there if you need it. There's no real ambient noise option or noise pass through like other headphones in this price range. That's where I start my gripes. These are, for the most part, really good and well made headphones. Unfortunately, if you can shell out $200 for some headphones, you should go for a more complete brand. If you're giving them as a gift, don't tell them how much you spent and the recipient should be more than satisfied with them. And hopefully They aren't into name brands. All in all, these are a solid pair of bluetooth noise cancelling headphones, but they just simply cost too much. So, in good conscience, I can't recommend them.

I bought these headphones to replace my Sony XBB950B1 headphones which broke recently. True, the Sony XB950B1 headphones came with heavy bass while the Sennheiser HD 450BT was design for more accurate sound and less bass. However, the bass and loudness on the Sennheiser HD 450BT's is massively weaker in comparison. The Sennheiser HD 450BT are not a good replacement for my Sony headphones. It is almost a night and day situation. Both headphones have their weaknesses and strengths. The Sennheiser HD 450 BT is more durable and offers noise cancelation. They come with a carrying case and can be folded up for easy transport. My old Sony headphones had none of these features. Comfort of the Sennheiser HD 450BT is tight and can be uncomfortable for long periods of time. The Sony headphones were more comfortable but had a larger profile. At the end of the day, I am rebuying the Sony XB95B1 as my primary pair of headphones and keeping the Sennheiser HD450BT as my secondary pair of headphones. The Sony XB95B1 are not good for workouts or for walking around the house. The Sennheiser HD450BT are much better if you are on the move doing other things while listing to music. So now I have two different types of wireless headphones doing two different jobs for me. The Sennheiser HD 450BT headphones would have been perfect if it were one or two levels louder and had richer bass. Also comfort needs to be improved.

pros Range is great connection is fast battery last long cons 1.volume on this is about the same as a 70 dollar "off brand" from amazon. The bass is actually less than that. 2.ears get warm faster than other brands 3.the noise canceling works some, not anything like WOW!. Its expected not to be the best at this price range, but you have so many other budget friendly ones that do the same. conclusion At the black Friday deal of 50% off ill keep it as a spare to lend a friend for a plane ride, but for full price of $200 never. You are better off to wait for Best Buy to put a deal on the Bose. That way you wont be disappointed.

This is a decent headset at a good price if you are realistic about what you need them to do. Listen to music and make calls on your phone only? Fantastic! There are, however, a few things you should know up front. This is a good headset for listening to music or talking on the phone as long as it won't be an extended session. It isn't great for games on PC and doesn't work with the Xbox Series X. The dual connect feature has only caused the headset to disconnect from my PC every 30 seconds or so. As there is no way to control the connection from the headset, I have to turn off BT on my phone. If you aren't listening to lossless music, not much difference in quality between these and my Logitech headset. These are ON EAR, not over ear phones. I have small ears that fit inside the cups, but not comfortably for more than an hour tops. The real problem is that the noise cancelling is terrible. I still hear my keyboard. I still hear my housemate coughing. The active noise cancellation just can't handle short sharp sounds. On the upside, I can't hear my PC fan when gaming. On the downside, I can still hear the traffic outside. Again, the sound quality is great if you are playing music and the noise cancelling problems aren't as noticeable. If you, like me, suffer from sensory overstimulation and need the quiet, pass on these.

Comfortable and decent sound, but were a little weird in the 20-30% volume range. No idea why. I didn't like that they beep when changing the volume. The mic does not work when using them wired. One of the product images shows a 4-pole 2.5-mm plug, which is the end that goes into the headset. The other end of the cord is a 3-pole 3.5-mm plug. I also didn't like that transparency mode was on while using teleconference software even while I was muted. Decided to return them.

Maybe I have an odd shaped head, but these were heavy and pinched my head and I only lasted 10 minutes wearing them. I purchased these to replace the Sennheiser 4.50BT, which, while comfortable and sounded great had the annoying problem of beeping when switching tracks on my iPhone and when I scrolled through a few apps. I was drawn to these by the fast charge usb-c and the 30 hour battery, smart assistant I doubt I will use as I almost never use Siri on my iPhone. I wish my store had had a demo (seriously, Best Buy add more headphone demos to more stores!) so I didn’t have to order the headphones just to try them. They paired quickly, have excellent noise cancellation and amazing sound quality and luckily, it did not beep after every track like the previous generation did! I was seriously wishing for these to be as comfortable as the 4.50 were because I love Sennheiser’s sound quality. I just wish I could wear them without pain.

sound quality is pretty good and you can slightly change the EQ settings through the sennheiser app but that doesn't compensate for the uncomfortable fit. My ears are small and I still felt the ear cups were too small. Also the headphones would heat up my ears really fast. About 30mins of listening to music and my ears were already sweating. If it weren't for the ear cups and the sweat that I would get from wearing these headphones I would give these 4 stars because of the sound quality and mid range ANC that these headphones offer.

Really liked these at first. They have great sound, nice and clear with good separation, and punchy but not overpowering bass. Keeps a charge for a long time, and keeps a solid connection. And the active noise cancelation does a decent job on lower droning sounds like fans and road noise. However, After wearing for a while though they became uncomfortable and a little painful. The earpads, while very soft, are more like half on ear. The headband has very little padding on it and the weight of the headset makes the top of my head sore as well. The microphone is pretty poor quality also. Maybe these would work if you have small ears, and thick cushiony hair, otherwise they need some work.

The sound is fantastic, balanced and has that signature Sennheiser sound profile. Clarity and separation are wonderful. The noise cancelling is decisively budget headphones quality, having experienced better at half the price. It's hard to even tell if it is turned on or not. No ambient mode. The issue is the comfort, namely the band, which is basically just a piece of plastic with fake leather wrapped around it. If you have a sensitive scalp, it is instantly uncomfortable. There is no padding and they really don't adjust out far enough for tall heads. The feel pretty good against the ears, but are quite hot with a fair amount of clamp. The controls are complicated and not intuitive at all.

I've been a big fan of Sennheiser's headphones for a few years. I purchased these instead of the Sony equivalent, because these were half the price. The sound quality is very good for bluetooth headphones. The ear cups could be a bit bigger, but are otherwise comfortable and the construction is good, they don't have a cheap plastic feel to them. The reason I returned them is the active noise cancelling. When turned on, it felt like a white noise generator had been placed inside my skull. This can be a very personal reaction to ANC, so I would recommend trying these out before purchasing if possible.

Pros: For 8 months these have been amazing! Super comfortable Good sound Good noise cancellation 8 months and no visible or feelable wear on the leather Easy to fold into little bag to take to office Great connectivity to my laptop Con: After 8 months there is crackling in the right headphone, still in manufacturer warranty so more annoying than anything else

These headphones sound amazing, and they have some of the best connectivity that I have seen. However, they are uncomfortable for someone like me who has big and misshapen ears. For the first two hours they feel great, but anything after that they hurt my ears to a point where I needed to take them off. They were mostly plastic which made me question the quality. But they were surprisingly durable. Good buy if you have small ears, otherwise go for a better set with bigger cups.

The page says that the product is over-the-ear, but the one I received was on-ear. On-ear hurts my ears, however, due to the pressure on my ears against the wired sides of my glasses. I tried them anyway, since I've heard great things about Sennheiser, but unfortunately it caused pain within the first half hour. I was going to give them to my friend, but she also found them painful and the lack of cushion on the top to be an extra con. In addition, the controls were difficult to figure out, even with the instruction manual. This product was returned shortly after received, and I invested in another headset.

Not as good as the older model. Not much of the bass effect. It's tight that may make you feel uncomfortable.
