This version II lens is 14% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor—it is 3.75" long and weighs 1.2 lb, while the previous generation lens was 4.4" long and weighed 1.4 lb—thanks to more effective mechanical and optical designs.
By correcting chromatic aberrations, the design also contributes to cleaner, smoother bokeh quality. Additionally, an 11-blade rounded diaphragm maintains rounded out-of-focus highlights and an overall clean, natural image quality.
