The DualSense Edge controller is a definitively “cool” first-party controller with an above-average experience, relative to Sony’s basic controllers. The two extra paddles frequently leave me wanting for the four provided by Xbox’s Elite controller, but they are serviceable and feel good to use like the rest of the controller. The battery life, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Within a matter of two hours of gameplay, the battery is already on its last leg. This controller lands squarely within the “cool to have” category in which most of my electronic gadgets reside. If you don’t mind the Xbox stick layout, the Nacon Revolution 5 controller has better value, else this controller will fill the void.

Great customization and handfeel. Love this in black as with white you had to content with it getting kind of less than pristine looking after a while. Analog sticks continue to be drift magnets, but at least you can replace them. Being able to deadzone away stick drift for a while before a replacement is needed is pretty nice too. The rubber on the hand grips tends to start peeling off from the back after lots of use, but I feel like I get decent value for the price on these. All the per-game control scheme stuff is super handy. Not the best pro controller I've ever used, but for a first party one it is solid.

The DualSense Edge feels premium and plays like a dream. Custom profiles, swappable sticks, and back buttons give it a pro-level edge. Battery life is shorter than the standard controller, but the features make up for it. Pricey, but worth it if you’re serious about gaming.
Coming from a customer who normally buys a scuf controller, the dualsense edge is a really good product. It comes with a carrying case, extra paddles, charger and even comes with extra joy sticks so you can customize the feel of the controller. I had purchased this controller not knowing what to expect and boyyy was I satisfied. It was quick and easy to set up along with the different profiles you can customize. My only complaint with this controller would be the battery life. The battery life on this controller isn’t the best with minimal settings you can probably get up to 6 yes I said 6 hours of gameplay. Which isn’t much when you’re playing games like call of duty, battlefield etc. for the price I recommend it. However take into account the battery life I would spend a little extra and purchase a scuf controller but this controller is solid. Would recommend if you don’t have the money to invest into a different brand of controllers. And also this controller is sleek and elegant as well.

Great controller. I had an elite Xbox controller for a while and got used to the paddles. After switching back to PlayStation and finding out PS had a similar controller I had to invest. Controller feels great, haven’t had an issues. Only thing I would change is the battery life could be more, after a long session of playing it almost always needs to be charged.

love the controller! i have all three colors. in my opinion, overall, the dualsense edge is the greatest controller of all time. only reason i didn’t give this specific one 5 stars is because for some reason with this new midnight black release there was something wrong with the triggers; either one of the triggers were making a clicking sound when the triggers were set to their their shortest setting, or when i pulled them back all the way, one of the triggers would stop earlier than the other one. i had to go back to best buy and exchange it for a new one multiple times, after the 4th exchange i finally got one that was close enough to a perfectly functioning dualsense edge like my other ones. this is an ideal controller, just make sure both the triggers feel and sound the same when you use them.

Have had this for about 7months now and has been good to me. Only thing is the paint coating starts to peel on the side of the on controller and the grips under the controller start to bubble up and get weaker overtime causing some to pop out. Mine just started shaking and feeling week already so i might have to warranty mine soon.

Really like this product, i hope it holds up for the price, regular controllers always get stick drift

Overall I highly recomend this controller over all. You have so many options which means more then a specific type of player can use thing controller. You can make presets for different games which comes in handy especially when you play lots of different games

good but too pricey and needs more back buttons, 2 isnt enough. the replaceable thmbstics are nuce, and the ability t switch out the whole stick box is cool, but needs more for 200 plus dollars

I play a lot of FPS games- mainly cod and apex and was looking for a more premium controller, as well as an alternative to getting a scuf. It definitely has a great feel, love the customization and overall look to it. The addition of the paddles in the back feel great and definitely is a game changer. There is one thing that makes me mad though and thats the battery life. Sometimes it dies just sitting there on my desk without even using it. If it had better battery life- like even just the standard dualsense controller it would be an almost perfect controller.

They knocked it out of the park with this controller. It feels premium in the hand. The inter-swappable thumb sticks and back paddles are very high quality. So is the carrying case with a cable port for charging your controller while inside. The cable has a lock mechanism and is long. The only gripes I have are the battery life, which is slightly worse than a standard DualSense and the plastic faceplate over the bottom half of the controller where the joysticks are. It feels easy to scratch. The same plastic as the body of the ps5. I wish it were matte or a different material.

I purchased this controller back in October 2025, I have two other regular dual sense 5 controllers that have been good but was looking for some extra buttons to map for particular games. I have to say, I really love the overall feel, it’s perfectly balanced weight has a very premium feel, and my favorite part being the triggers are adjustable to engage at short pull/push. Only issue I’ve had so far is battery life, which is much shorter than the normal dual sense 5 controller.

This is the best controller you can get on the PS5, especially if you're looking for a solution to the stick drift issues that plague the regular Dualsense controllers. I've already gone through 2 Dualsense controllers before I finally settled with the Edge variant. There are other controller options in the market, but this was the only one that retains all the Dualsense features while also being able to wake the PS5 console. On top of that, it adds remappable back buttons, customizable stick sensitivity, and the ability to create custom controller profiles for different playstyles. That being said, this controller is still far from perfect. For example, the solution it offers for stick drift is simply to make the sticks themselves easily replaceable from the end user. This sounds consumer friendly on paper, but at the end of the day, this is simply replacing a stick with another that will eventually suffer the same fate over time. In other words, this is a band aid solution rather than an actual fix to the problem at hand. Another problem this controller has is the battery life. The battery capacity on this controller is actually smaller than the regular Dualsense. If you think this sounds unacceptable, that's because it is. Especially considering the price as well. So, while I say this is the best controller you can get on the PS5, it's really only because there's no other choice to begin with.

I purchased the DualSense Edge in Midnight Black from BestBuy as a Christmas gift for my son, and it has quickly become his favorite present. The sleek and professional Midnight Black finish is something he greatly prefers over the standard white. He mainly uses it for competitive shooters, and the ability to swap the back paddles and adjust the trigger sensitivity has significantly enhanced his gameplay. Additionally, the replaceable analog stick modules are a major plus for me, as it means we won't need to buy an entirely new controller if he experiences stick drift. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the battery life. It depletes faster than the standard controller (typically lasting around 5–6 hours), which means he often has to play with the included cable connected. Fortunately, the cable is long and of high quality, so it’s not a major issue. All in all, it’s a premium, high-performance upgrade that any PS5 player would truly appreciate.
