Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy came out in the days of the Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, and Dreamcast -- though the Dreamcast was long gone by the time it released. This game was quickly forgotten because there were a lot of platformers back then, especially of the "mid-tier" variety (Voodoo Vince, Vexx, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Kao the Kangaroo, and on and on). It was tough back in those days to compete with the likes of Mario, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, etc. That didn't mean that Sphinx was a bad game -- quite the opposite! And since the genre isn't as alive as it once was, it's nice to see a forgotten gem like this brought back. While it shows its age, this is definitely the best looking version in existence. If you like the platforming genre & have never played Sphinx, I'd recommend giving it a go. It doesn't have voice acting, or even odd noises like a Banjo & Kazooie, but it doesn't need it. It's a fun game for all ages.

The graphics look really good. Nice colors. However game play felt dated. The camera was too sensitive. No voice acting. Subtitles while character mouth moved. I can only recommend on sale.

As far as Gamecube platforms go, Sphinx was one of the better ones on the system. A solid 20 hours that offers unique gameplay mechanics and intricate puzzle-solving.

This is a port of a ps2 game. It's fun but the controls are kinda cluncky. If you like platformers you'll like this game but it feels kinda dated.

I've owned this game three times now Having owned the Ps2 and Gamecube versions, I was excited when I heard this way on the way to Switch. I've never gotten a chance to play it through till the end till now. Something about being able to pick the game up and play wherever has made it accessible. It's got it's frustrating moments, but well worth the journey if you stick with it.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a must play classic that acts as a great example of how to make a timeless title. Despite having a few quirks that remind us of its age, this Egyptian escapade is just as enjoyable as it was back in 2003, if not even more so on the Switch. Not only does it manage to nail the essence of a good adventure title, but it provides us with entertaining abilities and puzzles that are truly a fun experience.

This is a port of an old Xbox/PS2/GameCube game that has a small cult following. It isn’t anything that will blow your socks off and does suffer from some older game issues such as no lock on camera for enemies. But if you are a casual gamer looking for something new and interesting while sticking to the affordable side, this game is for you. And if you remember this game from back in the day, there is no better way to play it than this!

So first off this was the first time I played this game, I guess it flew under my radar back in the day. Recently it caught my attention being a steal at $9.99. I looked a some reviews on YouTube and it immediately looked like something I would’ve played growing up. There’s something about these older action adventure games that hit home for me. If you’re going into this one for the first time know that this isn’t some passionate remaster like the recent Spyro. It’s still very much the same game as it was in 2003, but don’t let that detour you. Yes, the controls can be a little clunky at times and sure the puzzles can be a little frustrating but for me that’s apart of its charm. It doesn’t hold your hand either, so if you’re used to games that keep you on training wheels this one probably isn’t for you. Like I said, I snagged it for $10 at the time and for me that was without a doubt worth it.

A very nice remaster of the original Sphinx which debuted on the Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2 and original Xbox. The graphics have been upgraded to high definition and the gameplay have been modernized as well. If you missed the chance to played it when it came out now is the best time to play it looking better than ever.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this game but I had heard the game was actually good so I decided to try it. I am so glad this game is in my collection! It turns out it was way better than I thought it would be and I think more people should give this game a shot. A really great game that holds up very well to today’s standards.

I bought this game because I had it for a previous system some years ago and enjoyed it very much! It aged rather well. My only complaint is that some of the camera angles are slightly off. I believe that this was the same issue I had with the game before, but I still loved it then, and love the game now!

This game is incredibly fun. It runs well on the Switch and is a great nostalgic trip back to the early 2000's. If you see this in the store, buy it! Fun story, fun gameplay, great graphics for a game that came out over a decade ago, and just fun all around!!

This is a game I enjoyed with my oldest back in the day on the original Xbox. Now I get to play it again and share it with my younger kids on the Switch. It's still a fun action adventure puzzler - the gameplay holds up and the improved graphics are great.

A gem from a bygone era of 3D platformers given new life on the Nintendo Switch. With gameplay mechanics akin to that of classic 3D Legend of Zelda titles, this game is sure to strike a chord with both those who grew up in the era and the youth of today.

Haven't played this game since the N64, but it is so worth picking up on the Switch. This game plays and looks as good as you would think an N64 game would be. A blast from the past!

This is surprisingly a really fun 3d platformer which we don’t get much of anymore. The puzzles are pretty simple but the visuals and gameplay play nicely for being a older port.
