This title took me approximately 30 hours to complete on the standard "Action" difficulty. The gameplay and graphics are solid, and made for a fun beat-em-up experience. The story was hard to follow if I'm being honest, but if you are a big FF fan, this game references a lot of past titles. I also really enjoyed the job system, and branching skill trees. Your party members will also have access to certain classes to keep it fresh and customizable. Probably the biggest pain point is inventory management - you are constantly being thrown new gear drops and can only carry 500 at a time. Highly recommend setting auto-dismantle rules in the settings early on, as it gets annoying to clear out items when you're in a mission, or just in general. Overall, this was a fun game. Check it out if interested!

Awesome graphics and story line. Gameplay and battles are amazing and different to what I'm used to but fun.

This game is a souls style game but it is very easy compared to them. The gameplay is done well and the main character is really funny. The only reason i docked a star is because the game textures look like they are from a ps3 or xbox 360. It runs smoothly and is really fun though.

Fun action, “souls like” game set in the final fantasy universe.

After playing Final Fantasy 15 and Final Fantasy 7 remake I have been dying for a new Final Fantasy game. This game will quench your thirst but falls vastly short of what we have seen. I know the argument will be that this had a different developer and it was meant to be more violent and action packed, and it was, but it was still an average showing overall. The game looks and feels like a last gen game, or a game I would play on X Box 360. Not the graphics but the gameplay. It was not open world, the levels are linear and just have you progress down a path. Worse is the side quests make you do the same thing or just go reverse through the levels. For the record I am playing on a Series X in Resolution Mode. Very ugly and janky, but the action displays nicely. The best part of this game is the combat which every review outlines. Essentially you keep gaining new "jobs" which allow you a deeper progression of a class. There are almost 20 without doing the exact math and they do offered a slightly varied combat experience. My final take on this after beating the game less then a week after launch is that this may be worth a play through, but wait till it is discounted as this has minimal to zero replayability.

The company/team thats name is deservedly synonymous with masocore games (Ninja Gaiden, Nioh, etc) has made a AA fun and deeply satisfying gameplay experience. Many people wrote this game off due to 'memes' or 'ps2 graphics' but it is one of the best action RPGs to come out since Metal Gear Rising. The story itself is pretty good, which was done by Nojima (FFX, Crisis Core, FF7, Kingdom Hearts) and the DLC content for the game lives up to the quality expected from Team Ninja's Nioh and Nioh 2 DLCs. On its surface it seems like a very simple game, but under the surface and on online communities for it, you'll see the game 30+ page PDFs detailing how the game's mechanics work for those that want to really min-max their gameplay and see what high-level gameplay hold for you.

Stranger of Paradise is the strangest Final Fantasy game that I’ve played yet. It is wildly fantastic. This game has excellently crafted combat that is worth a look. You may come to this game for the story and experience, but it’s all about the combat.

The first RPG I ever played was the original Final Fantasy on the NES. When I found out that the story for this game takes place in the world of the original FF, I was very excited! The story is cool, but the dialogue and characters are campy & a little corny…think Resident Evil, but not as well done, if that makes sense. Graphics are ok, but nothing mind blowing. My biggest gripe was that there was no in-game map. Not too much of an issue most of the time, but definitely a major annoyance in some of the more maze-like levels. Overall, I would recommend waiting for a sale if you feel the need to get this as it is definitely for a very specific audience.

Gameplay is solid and very enjoyable to the end. Story is very chaotic and doesn't make much sense until you get to the last few missions. However it isn't without its own issues for someone who is a diehard FF fan. Pick it up on sale and its a good buy.
love this game its highly underated for fans of the series
Fun game with friends lots of combos and cool action to be had!

Not bad for a linear experience. Combat and job systems were fun. Little replayabilty
