Make every shot count with the world's first 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD lens for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. This fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom lens offers an unprecedented brightness of constant F2.8, combined with exceptional portability, making it a game-changer in the photography world. The lens's F2.8 maximum aperture, a first in its category for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, allows you to maintain a high shutter speed even in low-light conditions. This feature ensures sharp, clear images with minimal hand shake. The lens's special elements are optimally arranged to suppress optical aberrations, resulting in high-resolution performance and crystal-clear images.Despite its advanced features, this lens is surprisingly lightweight and compact, making it ideal for everyday use and travel. The lens's Minimum Object Distance (MOD) ranges from 0.15m at the widest end to 0.24m at the 20mm end, allowing you to get up close and personal with your subjects. The lens also features a fast precision AF drive system with an RXD (Rapid-eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit. Its Moisture-Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coating provide additional protection when shooting outdoors. The 11-20mm F2.8 lens offers a unique perspective and soft bokeh effects, thanks to its fast-aperture. It excels in various scenarios, including architecture, landscape, indoor environmental portraits, and interior photography. Despite its ultra wide-angle capabilities, the lens is compact and lightweight, measuring just 86.2mm in length and weighing 335g. When used with a compatible Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless camera body, you can enjoy carefree handheld shooting of still images or video using a compact tripod or gimbal. The lens's optical construction includes 12 elements in 10 groups, with two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements, two LD (Low Dispersion), and one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) lens elements. These features combine to render clear, crisp images, while suppressing chromatic aberrations that often occur when shooting at wide-open apertures. The lens's MOD of just 0.15m at the widest end allows for powerful wide-angle macro shooting. The maximum magnification ratio is 1:4, enabling unique, distinctive images with soft bokeh in the background. When combined with the 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD lens, these two lenses cover an extreme range of focal lengths from 11mm to 70mm, with a fast, wide-open aperture of F2.8. The combined weight of the two lenses is only approximately 860g, making them ideal for travel. The lens's AF drive includes an RXD motor unit, ensuring high-speed and accurate AF, ideal for shooting moving subjects or recording video. The lens also features a 7-blade diaphragm, configured to retain a smooth, circular-shaped aperture opening even when stopped down by two stops from the wide-open aperture. This produces a smooth-edged bokeh in background highlights. The lens is coated with second-generation BBAR-G2 Coating, providing improved performance compared to the original BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating. This coating corrects for ghosting and flare, rendering fine subject detail with true clarity and stunning contrast even under backlit conditions. The lens's Moisture-Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coating provide additional protection when shooting outdoors. The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellant, making the lens easier to clean and less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture, and fingerprints. In conclusion, the 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD lens for Sony E is a versatile, high-performance lens that offers a unique perspective and exceptional image quality. Whether you're shooting architecture, landscapes, or portraits, this lens will help you capture the world in stunning detail.
