I mainly use the Tamron 28-200mm lens for hiking and landscape photography, and it has become one of my favorite lenses to carry outdoors. When I’m hiking, I don’t want to constantly change lenses or carry too much weight, and this lens gives me a very useful range in one compact setup. The 28mm wide end is great for capturing landscapes, mountains, trails, and wide scenic views, while the 200mm reach is perfect for isolating details in the distance, like mountain layers, trees, wildlife, or compressed landscape shots. That flexibility makes it ideal for travel and hiking because I can react quickly to different scenes without missing the moment. I also appreciate how lightweight and practical it feels for such a versatile zoom range. Image quality has been very good for my needs, with sharp details, nice color, and strong contrast. It gives me the freedom to focus more on the experience and composition instead of worrying about gear. Overall, the Tamron 28-200mm is an excellent all-in-one lens for anyone who loves hiking, travel, and landscape photography. It’s versatile, reliable, and easy to carry, which makes it a lens I reach for again and again.

This is one of the best versatile lens on the market. My first lens was the 28-75mm f2.8 from Tamron. I was impressed with that lens but am even more impressed with the 28-200. You’re able to get great texture/detail shots as well as wide landscapes. It’s my go-to lens now. The lens is lightweight which is nice but it doesn’t have the quality feel like you would get on a Sony G or GM lens. But that’s just a minor thing to consider.

I absolutely love this lens! It's the best lens for the price. I used the kit lens (28-70mm) that came with my Sony A7iii. Since getting this lens, I haven't switched back. I watched many YouTube videos and read many articles before purchasing it. All of them gave this lens a super high rating! This is also a great travel lens! From Aug-Sept 2023. I went to Michigan, Ohio, and Chicago. I only brought this lens. I walked a lot while in Chi and had my camera with me about 98% of the time. Because of how light the lens is, I forgot I had the camera a couple of times, haha. Pros: There are a lot of pros, but my main ones are that it's super lightweight and the little lock button. Cons: Most of the time, I have the camera on a strap and as I'm heading to my destination, it's hanging down. Sometimes, the lens will extend, maybe because it's rubbing against something on me. But I've never had that issue with the kit lens. Other than that one con, it's a fantastic lens for the price.

I have been told about this lens time and time again from my photographer friends and man, I should've jumped on this sooner! The 2.8 aperture is just too good making low-light a non-issue. The 200mm zoom makes concert photography much easier. The images are crisp and I can't enough great things about the lens. This is paired with my Sony A7iv.

This lens is in great demand because of it’s 28-200mm zoom range and Sony E-Mount attachment capability. Once ordered, Best Buy notified us when it was available to obtain and whether it was in stock or ready for pickup. Great service & great price! It is lightweight, easy to use, and as you can see by the very first photo taken, it really enhanced the image. This is of Kaneohe Bay on Oahu which was originally a volcano. The island you see is now a research ctr for the Univ. of HI to help save the wonderful turtles that are in the bay, varieties of sharks and other fish, as well as coral reefs. It was the the island that you saw (if you are old enough or like goofy comedies) that was right at the beginning of Gillian’s Island TV show. It is actually called “Coconut Island.”

This is a great all rounder lens for Sony e-Mount. Covers a lot of ground and doesn’t require the sale of body parts to acquire. Takes really good photos, especially for its price point. I owned this lens once before and sold it, but after trying a lot of other more expensive lenses, I repurchased this one because it’s hard to beat as a take anywhere lens.

The lens is awesome! 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD. I use it mostly for nature photography and landscape photography. It is very light and the auto focus from my camera works amazingly well with it. The 2.8 aperture works great indoors at 28mm and zoomed to 100 to 200 the 5.6 is more than enough to get a detailed shot late in the afternoon during sunset. The egret shot below was taken on a cloudy morning changing format on camera to APSC so it could convert 200mm to 300mm, you get that extra reach with it. I am very happy with this lens and would recommend it for travel, portrait, landscape and nature photography.

[Employee of bestbuy] I love this lens. Especially for travel it’s great. Fast apature with a good zoom range under 1000. I actually used this on an a6700 which is Apsc and it was honestly more useful to me. I liked having a tighter lense. Like a 42-300 equivalent a believe. Smooth zoom ring. Withstood the rain. I wish it was a little wider but that’s because I was on Apsc if your on full frame it will be perfect. If there was a version of this that was like 20-200 it would be my perfect lens. Me taking a selfie with the box should be proof enough that I liked it

I feel this lense probably gets overlooked and u unfortunately I think it's successor is launching soon. But this is a fantastic lense that's fast enough that really allows to get a whole slee or shots that would be out of reach with the Sony box lense.

This is a very versatile lens and takes very sharp pictures. The AF works very quickly just like it should. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be.

Compactness , 2.8 , 200mm are the main selling points here. I really do like this lens. I’ve just had some issues with autofocus on an older sony body (7r3). I updated the fw with a supposed fix for some autofocus issues but still having ~30% missing in faster/tracking situations. May just be a sony body limitation for non first party lenses, my 85 does not have these issues. Hoping another update may fix the issue.
