I did a lot of homework on if this lens was comparable to the Canon 24mm-70mm 2.8. After thinking long and hard I decided to buy this lens. I am extremely happy. It is sharp, focuses quickly and works so amazing in low light. I would definitely recommend it to others. If you are considering buying it, it is worth every penny. It also has a 6 year warranty through the manufacturer which is an extra bonus.

well worth the money, at a fraction of the cost of canon equivalent. very sharp, and lasted me years without issues. After a couple years of tough use the rubber zoom grip started to come off a little, but very easily repaired.

So there is a huge issue with Tamron and their lenses not working with certain canon cameras so check on their website first before purchase. And as a heads up it does not work with the 5d Mark IV

I bought this lens over six years ago. I am very pleased with it not much difference in the performance of this one and the G2 so I just decided not to upgrade. It’s an excellent lens by Tamron

I have this lens and I'll say that it's a fantastic lens! I've had it for about 1 year now and it's still working well. I think the other person who gave a review must have had a defective one or he might've drop it. I'm not sure but I like it! I think it's better than the 24-105mm canon L series. Especially at a f4! At a 2.8 you do get a lot of vignetting but I enjoy that! I use this lens to blog, shoot weddings, and just use it as a walk around. Perfect lens!

I have a Nikon D810 and needed a 24-70 lens....not this one!, I am sorry I purchased this lens. Wasted, $1,200. Now I am forced to purchase the Nikon version anyway. The Tamaron seemed to work for the first six months and then I started having focus problems. Under some light situations it will not focus or take a picture over 24mm. The zoom is useless in bright light. I use back focus and it still does not work. Rockwell told me after I paid him $5 that the Tamaron people have not designed this lens to work properly with Nikon products. He told me to purchase the Nikon version right away to avoid damaging my camera. Please do not try to save money, because it will cost you double in the long run. If any one wants to buy my Tamaron for $500 if you have compatible produces, it's your's.
