One of the best games that came out in 2022 hands down. A must play game.

Like any decent horror movie or game, they all have their moments. Visually this looks great! As far as the gameplay and the overall story/setting, it had so much potential. Unfortunately, it gets boring. It’s tough to recommend this one.

This game is very emmersive. Dark Horse really makes good games...especially in the decisions making genre of game. The graphics are sick...u can see the pores on the skin. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to make decisions that affects the games outcome.

I’ve bought the past games from the The dark anthology and this one didn’t disappoint. I ended up just saving the two of them. Perhaps with accessibility I can slow down the QT events and get them all saved in the next playthrough. One thing that bothered me was the minor lags.

I was a huge fan of the first three in this series and also the Quarry. So fair to say I’m a Supermassive fanboy. I waited like many others over the past year in anticipation of this game. Unfortunately, this game was so bad I couldn’t even force myself to finish it. Some highlights/lowlights below: - I got soft locked twice in the first couple hours of gameplay where I couldn’t move my character anywhere - Characters are trope’ish, unlikeable and unrelatable; while Supermassive tends to use characatures, the set they used here seem to be shoe horns for what politically oriented people believe certain races/archetypes should be, rather than what they are - Forced romance between two unattractive women right at the beginning of the game that there wasn’t any choice to just avoid; if you’re going to force a romance at least make the characters attractive (either personality wise or looks wise) otherwise it just makes you want to vomit Also, unlike previous games, there’s no “mystery” here. It’s a face value, jump scare horror game (no nuances/twists or wonderment like all the previous games). You’re trapped in a house with a run of the mill serial killer type trying to scare you / do bad things to you. I’ll give Supermassive another chance after this one…maybe The Quarry consumed their A-team and this was written by the B-team, but overall the game is very lazy, very boring, and has none of the charm, good story elements that Supermassive has built its brand on. But if this is their future then there probably won’t be too many more of Supermassive games and that won’t be a bad thing.

The 4th game in the Dark Pictures series is a fun game even though it feels like a step down from House of Ashes. The story is okay, but the unkillable killer thing doesn't really work for me. New additions like items feel like an afterthought to be honest and certain characters having plot armor for most of the game feels lame too. I still enjoyed the game, but it feels like a step down from that last one.

The game is functionally similar to the rest of the Dark Pictures Anthology but features a tie-in to a real-life serial killer, which makes its story unique when compared to the others. A performance mode allows for smoother movement in gameplay. It's a ~7 hour experience, with some exploration used as padding and I preferred the 4-5 hour sweet spot of its predecessor when playing the Movie Night mode in one sitting, with friends. Otherwise, a solid experience.

My friend and I are a fan of this series. We buy the new game each year to play together in the online co-op mode. I don't want to go too in-depth and spoil the story, because the story is the main reason to play these types of games. I will say that the story might be one the best of the series so far and it's the Season 1 finale. My gripes with the game come not from the story or gameplay, but the amount of bugs in the game. This shouldn't have been released in the state it was in. My friend and I bought this on release date and it was literally unplayable for the first 24 hours because we couldn't connect to each other. This wasn't due to internet problems, it was due to the developers not having the day one patch out in time for the PlayStation 5 version. Throughout the rest of the game are various other inexcusable bugs, including at one point a character appearing in a cutscene despite said character having died earlier in the playthrough. Honestly, the game released as a mess. The story was good, and if you're patient enough they should have it patched up and hopefully glitch-free before the holidays, but for day one buyers like my friend and I, it's hard not to feel at least a little let down.

I own all supermassive games. While house of ashes i found to be better, this was a good game, especially at its price point
