I'm very hesitant to give less than 3 stars to anything, but these did not work. I had heard something about Powerline adapters not working on different floors, but I couldn't even get these to work on the same floor. I will give a star for quality and another star for the price.

All my research indicated that this would be the best solution. In actuality it did not work in my scenario. Not sure why, possibly the backup battery on the circuit(?) I returned this product and purchased a wireless LAN extender ... that worked perfectly.

It worked at first but after a few days the connection breaks for a few seconds and then will reestablish, but that few seconds makes life a hassle if you need to be on the internet when it decides to act up.

Hi Tammy,
Please bear in mind that the theoretical maximum channel data transfer rate of Powerline Adapters is derived from HomePlug AV specifications. Actual data transfer rate will vary from network environment variables including: distance between adapters, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, building material and construction, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.
We recommend following the suggestions outlined in our FAQ here to help optimize the performance of your Powerline connection: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-409.html
We’d love to follow up with you and answer any questions you might have. Please send an e-mail with your contact information and a copy of this review to USSupportTeam@TP-Link.com and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
Best Regards,

Hi,
Thank you for your review. Powerline connectivity and data transfer rates will vary due to network environment variables including: distance between adapters, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, building material and construction, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.
First, please ensure both Powerline adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets - no surge protectors or power strips as these will directly interfere with the connection. We recommend following the suggestions outlined in our FAQ here to help optimize the performance of your Powerline connection: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-409.html

This adapter works. It allows an internet connection through house outlets; however, it advertises 600 Mbps speeds but provides similar sppeds as wireless (30 Mbps).

A good device if you are looking for slow speeds, but cannot pump out anything over 500mb. If you need high speed, a mesh system is recommended.

Hi,
Thank you for your review. The TL-PA4010 Powerline Kit is designed and advertised for wired/Ethernet network expansion - not WiFi. If you are looking for a Powerline + WiFi solution, we would recommend considering one of our Powerline WiFi combination kits instead, such as the TL-WPA7510 Gigabit Ethernet + WiFi Powerline Kit. If you have any questions about which TP-Link products are best for your needs, please feel free to reach out to our support team and an agent will gladly assist you.
Thank you,
TP-Link Support

This product does allow you to use as described but the speed of the internet link is not as fast as it is with the higher priced wireless wifi extenders.
