How bright are these outside on the roof line as compared to a normal string of lights? The lights also appear to be uni-directional like the light will only be brightest straight out from the bulb, is that true or are they multi-directional?
Answered by twinkly TeamThank you for your interest! Below are the Lumen measurements for the 600 leds RGB strings: white:188lm, power 23.3W red:40lm, power 27.8W green: 125lm, power 26.9W blue:21lm, power 26.6W And they are uni-directional. Hope this helps!
I live in California can I leave them up on my house outside all year long? Also there is a preset for American flag. How do I string lights for this to work?
Answered by twinkly TeamHi! This product is IP44 which means that is certified and suitable for outdoor use The temperature range is from -15 °C to 40 °C or 14°F to 104°F Moreover, I'm glad to give you some pieces of advice to protect both the plug and the controller so that you can enjoy it for a long, long time: Consider placing the plug and the controller in a proof location, and to avoid plunges into the water for a long time. if you don't have any safe place near the string, consider to buy a waterproof box for plugs, which stores both the controller and the plug itself. For the other question, Yes there is a an effect with the American flag in the Twinkly App! Thanks to the mapping feature, You can place your lights as you prefer, there is not a rule! you will be able to create a precise layout of your LEDs and apply the effect with the maximum impact! The only suggestion is more LEDs you have richer the effect will be! Hope this is helpful!
Do these lights get hot to the touch? I am thinking about stringing these up on my ceiling underneath Polyester fiber fill to look like light-up clouds, but I'm worried about them heating up too much and becoming a fire hazard with the poly fill.
Answered by WillCNo. Mine are room temperature to the touch after running for several hours. The plug and controller do get warm to the touch.
Do these lights have a still mode ?
Answered by RyanYou can program these lights to have virtually whatever pattern you want. If you want still, these can do that too.
are they cuttable? what is the maximum number of bulbs that can we connected together?
Answered by TwinklyRepresentativeMultiple Twinkly light strings can be synchronized in groups, up to 4000 LED lights and up to 10 strings, under a strong Wi-Fi connection. No physical connection is needed, the whole process is managed by mapping the lights on the Twinkly app through your Wi-Fi network. Twinkly lights cannot be modified or cut.
