I always have to have a soundboard and coupled this one with a 65 Vizio tv. Great sound and decent bass. No complaints at all.

This Vizio 3.1.2 soundbar setup with Dolby Atmos is said to be a budget soundbar for those new to Dolby Atmos. But to me this is high end sound for a solid enough price. Now it’s not cheap by any means. But compared to other brands this is at where it should be. If you have owned Vizio soundbars in the past you will know right off the bat that they make great sound products. I had the first ever soundbar when they had the 99$ price tag. That is when I fell in love with the sound quality and their emphasis on vocal clarity and all around balanced sound. This is no different. Only 10 times better. I personally can’t believe how clear the vocals/midrange are. It’s really amazing. It’s my personal preference to love the mids more than all other. But it’s like a movie theater. Highs are good to as well no worries there. But the bass while clear and hard is a bit too loud for my semi small apartment. Tho for those of you that have bigger places, y’all will be happy. The sub is in a new slim sub box. This is 100% a great idea. As some of us don’t like the big box subs. With these you can literally hide anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Great job on Vizio for that. I ran audio through both HDMI(ARC) and Digital Optical cable. Both sound great though I prefer ARC. Just sounds better. Also this soundbar supports Dolby digital Plus. I believe it’s a better sound output than regular I can hear a difference at least. Clear sound either way.i didn’t set up Bluetooth as I don’t really use these to listen to music. But you can cast everything anyhow so there’s that. Now Dolby Atmos is very cool. Kinda like 3D. But with sound. The 2 up fire speakers work well. Certain movies I could hear above me and over and past my head as well. Pretty cool. While playing video games is where I liked it the most as i am a big gamer. Adds something new and should take us into the future. Helps games That much more fun. You feel immersed! Note: I highly recommend downloading the Vizio SmartCast app from the google play store or apple store. It will make all the difference in tuning and setting up WiFi. The remote is the same remote we all love or kinda love. It has that tiny Screen that only works if you have light. Vizio should have made it backlit. But the smartcast app lets you tune EVERYTHING(see pic). You can even update the soundbar through the app as well. Awesome feature. Maybe I’m biased because I started off with Vizio. But I loved and love the time and effort they put into their products. This is an amazing set up for sure. Just buy it and thank me later. PS- I haven’t found any real downsides to this set up. Fingers crossed tho.Vizio has a winner here! Good luck and happy shopping.

This sound bar delivers what it promises. The voices from the center speaker are clear and get plenty loud. There are no dedicated surround sound speakers but the upward firing speakers do their job well. Even though there aren't true rear speakers, the sound still gets around and behind you somehow. We will be watching TV and my wife will look at me because a whistle or dog bark comes from behind us. The absolute best feature of this sound system is the base given off by the sub. It has a self from -10 to 10 and I usually keep it at either 0 or 2. At 2 it shakes my couch and rumbles the floor a bit. Any higher than that the walls shake but in a good way. It has a subtle rumble at a lower setting and an insane boom at the higher setting. Explosions and gunfire sound amazing. The system connects to your WI-FI and you can use your phone to make adjustments to the sound. I guess really my only complaint is the remote. It is hard to read the display and kind of hard to use but like I said I just use my phone anyway The whole system works perfect together and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Highly recommend.

I bought an open box and got a great deal on it. Wanted to check out thr hype for dolby atmos. It sounds awesome. Movie theatre quality. Problem is I could never get it to connect through my HDMI ARC. Constant interruption and very buggy. Remote is outdated and useless. Unfortunately I had to return the equipment. Maybe it was just bad luck....i really wanted to keep it.

This sound system is one of the best in that price range, you will easily find a difference in Dolby digital and Dolby Atmos if you play same song on both the system simultaneously. Go for it and you wont regret. Connectivity: Bluetooth, Optical, USB and HRMI RAC (I dont think any other short of connectivity is needed) Wireless Subwoofer: Give you the best movie experience if you put it aside of your bed or couch, dont put it next to TV or soundbar.

Bought this looking for Dolby Atmos under $500. My wife hates AV equipment so this soundbar offering 3.1.2 sound from just a soundbar and a wireless subwoofer (hidden under furniture) is a major win. Decent remote with single line LCD (wish it was backlit) and companion app. My Roku remote will control soundbar volume, so the single remote eliminates clutter. Haven't checked out full Atmos experience, but movies and music sound great. Would strongly recommend for the price.

You're not going to get anything close to actual atmos. But its nice to know you 'have' it. I would say it is a step above in terms of just the bar itself compared to the standalone vizio 3.1 bar. The sub is what makes this combo. Its small and fits almost anywhere there's an outlet since it can be placed in a vertical or horizontal orientation. Good for a small to medium sized room. I would get something bigger and with more channels if you have a bigger room. If you want it get it. But get it only on sale.

The sound and bass on this is great! Sometimes it takes awhile and some tinkering to connect to my tv, however, even tho it is directly wired in. For that I give it a 4* review instead of a 5*.

I have seen a lot of reviews concerning the connectivity issues of this soundbar and I have experienced the same thing. I just returned the soundbar earlier to today, but prior to that I had owned it for only about 3 weeks. This morning, the soundbar and the subwoofer both disconnected from my tv. I tried all the troubleshooting methods of unplugging, turning off, turning back on, etc. Nothing worked so I called Vizio support (very pleasant conversation) and they were unable to determine what was wrong and wrote the soundbar off as defective. In the end, they wanted to send me a new one. I have seen other people’s reviews saying the same thing happened to them with them receiving a new one and still the same connectivity problem persisted. I didn’t want to go through the trouble of a second failure so I returned mine. THAT BEING SAID. I have gone through three soundbar now And it was by far the best. Great sound, exciting bass, and solid atmos effect. I really wish I could have kept it but first things first, you want a soundbar to work properly. Mine didn’t. If you buy this, I wish you the best of luck. If yours works, it’s going to be an awesome experience.

Was looking for a sound-bar/subwoofer combo to compliment my new 4K tv and 4K ultra HD Blu-ray player and this did not disappoint. So easy to set up and I love that it has an app you’re able to use to come top all the sound settings instantaneously. Powerful for my medium sized living room and definitely takes some trial and error to get the levels right for your size of a room. Would highly recommend for the price!

The sound system was relatively easy to set up and the sound is great. My only complaint is that I couldn’t get the HDMI (ARC) connection to work with my Vizio TV, so I had to use the Digital Audio Optical connection. I also have to turn on the sound bar manually with the remote rather than it coming on automatically, but this could just be a setup option that I haven’t researched how to fix.

The sound quality is good. The subwoofer fits underneath the sofa and is surprisingly effective. Very happy with the sound volume it can produce - and it holds the quality at higher volumes well. The Vizio SmartCast app is troublesome - I have had some setup issues. Finally seems to have held my settings and options selections on the 3rd try. Hoping Vizio updates the firmware and app soon. Overall pretty happy with it. Oh, got it on sale for $250... if I had paid the full price - I think it sells for $469.99 - I would have returned it due to the setup and app quirks.

Good overall sound quality. I love the form factor of the subwoofer, it can fit under most sofas. I live in a loft space with 20-25ft ceilings sloping upwards from right to left, so Atmos doesn't work great since the bar fires the overhead sound up and tries to bounce it off the ceiling. It would work better in a standard height ceiling setup. Still good system for the price. That third channel up front really helps to make the dialogue in movies an tv shows come out clearer. Happy with my purchase.

I honestly wasn't expecting much. But this system has pretty good sound and decent base. The display is terrible and I've had two instances not being able to get sound when switching from an Atmos signal to something else. You get hints of Atmos effects but it's definitely not very immersive. But, I wasn't expecting it to be. For sub 300 I don't think you can beat it though. Worked right out of the box with my Sony X900f via HDMI Arc. Bottom line is that I was pleasantly surprised.

Returned a Polk Audio - 2.1-Channel Soundbar System with 6-1/2" Subwoofer (inconsistent sound quality) for this and it was a major improvement. Audio quality is terrific for movies and music but you'll need Atmos all-around (movie and playback source) for true reproduction. If not, the up-firing speakers still provide a sense of space - just make sure the soundbar is below the TV and not covered.

Will need to upgrade to a new Vizio TV with atmos to get the full benefits of the soundbar but still sounds good without.

Wasn’t cheap but wanted a good sound bar for my new vizio m tv, since the speakers on tv are useless. Bass sounds pretty good as well as the three channels of the sound bar. Good ranges. Problem is when commercials come on the sounds amplifies a lot! So much I have to mute the sound bar. I’ve read everything in manual, and many you tube videos and nothing I’ve tried has worked.

Hi None. Some channels do broadcast commercials louder than There's a setting in your Sound Bar called 'TruVolume'. if you switch the setting to 'On' it should stop this problem from happening. <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/VIZIO.png" alt="VIZIO" title="VIZIO" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Dolby Atmos soundbar, great price for a home theater system. Great for small living rooms. Great sound.

First time purchasing a soundbar. I thought the stock speakers were fine but was curious on how different a soundbar would sound and compared to the stock Samsung speakers these are great. I did some research and didn’t want to go with a 2.1 soundbar since I read on reviews that the center speaker is good to have for dialogue. I also was looking for a soundbar that had chromecast audio built in and this one did. Sounds great with both music and movies. I havent been able to try the Atmos feature and I’m not sure if these upfiring speakers work with the music but I would recommend this soundbar based on my usage so far. Setup was also fairly easy, just need to make sure you put the hdmi into the correct port for the hdmi arc.

I recently changed from having a wired 5.1 system with all the speaker wires ran through the walls and yada yada yada. My wife got tired of looking at all the speakers in the room and my young twins keep yanking on them, so I agreed to find a simpler unit. I was not and am still not willing to pay $1300 for a you know what brand of system, or even Sony for that matter, but for 149.99 this was a no brainer. I don’t love the subwoofer, it does not hit as well as my previous Klipsch 12 in, but it does get the job done. I often use the Vizio Cast mobile software to turn the bass down because it just tries to hard and sounds bad. I keep it around -3 and seems to be fine. It was easy to hook up and syncs to the sub and bar just fine. I’m using a Roku Ultra running to the sound bar with HDMI and then HDMI ARC to Tv. Handles the 4K HDR passthrough well.
