The more reviews I read regarding Whirlpool top mount refrigerators, the more I regret buying this refrigerator and not purchasing the extended warranty. We purchased this refrigerator in October 2021 and it was delivered in March 2022, 2 1/2 years later we had to junk it. Whirlpool's 2-5 year limited warranty on sealed systems do not cover top mount refrigerators, only french door bottom mount and side-by-side refrigerators, so disappointing. I will no longer be purchasing Whirlpool appliances or recommending Whirlpool to my friends and family, this also goes for their other brands as well. Issues with this refrigerator started when we noticed temperature changes in the refrigerator section, with everything freezing from milk to meats, and we also noticed the temperature in the freezer section increasing, the ice cream was like a milk shake. Following the troubleshooting guide we adjusted the air control, waited the 24 hours with no change. We adjusted the temperature control, again waited the 24 hours, with only little change in the refrigerator section. After a week things got worse, both sections were warmer than normal, the refrigerator between 40 and 50 degrees (see photos), and the freezer between 20 and 30 degrees (see photos). Scheduled a Whirlpool service call to have a technician take a look at the refrigerator, the tech concluded that it was due to low charge, and most likely a leak in the sealed system. Where the coolant comes into the condenser coil was frozen over and the majority of the coil had no frost (see photos), which is all the tech needed to see to diagnose the issue. The technician estimated that the cost to fix it would be around the price of a new refrigerator. So disappointed.

My original refrigerator was delivered December 15, 2021 and stopped working in 2 days. The freezer had 2 inches of ice and the refrigerator was not cold. So I had to buy a beverage cooler to make due til my 2nd refrigerator was delivered In January 2022, When this was delivered it had a huge dent!! But this is working ok, So hopefully when my 3rd new refrigerator gets delivered in APRIL10, 2022 it will be good. Never will I go to Best Buy again!

On-line purchase. No product reviews listed when we purchased. One of the main selling points to this Frig was the interior water dispenser with filter for such a good price. This Whirlpool make and model does not have the features the Best Buy website says it has. Non of the refrigerators that Best Buy sells has a water dispenser feature for less then $1600.00. Many problems with trying to get the frig we ordered over the phone. Finally had to go into a store to take care of the problem. Not to mention that the Freezer does not seal well and in less than a month there is ice and frost forming just inside the freezer. I would NOT buy this refrigerator!

This refrigerator runs a lot. I thought perhaps when I had the freezer filled it would stop--It has not. Also, it makes water-like noises, and there is no water system in this unit. It also makes other noises. I purchased this Whirlpool because my former Whirlpool was excellent but 35 years old and ran a lot. This is disconcerting. Should this "behavior" be expected in this be particular unit?

Terrible. Arrived completely damaged with large dents, broken drawer, and scratches. The install team tracked in dirty slush and snow over carpet and kitchen floor and were rude. The range was damaged too. They dont have a replacement and it was paid for.

Meh, kept food only moderately cold on highest level. This could have been just the individual refrigerator, but I ended up going with a different brand.

It came rusted. I have requested an exchange 3 months ago and I have not received the product yet.

We bought a brand new Whirlpool WRT541SZDW in February 2022 from a dealer here in Portland Oregon. It lasted less than 2.5 years. We regretted the purchased as soon it was delivered. It is supposed to fit into a 60 inch cut-out, and it did, but the door couldn't clear our adjacent entry arch by half an inch, and we had to pull this big monster out and turn it 90 degrees to the left in order to pull out the crisper trays every time we wanted to clean under them. What a horrible piece of junk this refrigerator turned out to be. It never kept food cold enough and we'd end up with milk going sour after only a week. Lucky if it got colder than 43 degrees at the highest setting. We lost so much food that went bad with this fridge. The storage compartments are poorly designed and make for an inefficient use of door storage space. The two crisper trays are cheap in design without integrated rollers. The deli tray is half-sized: it's just a joke - you'll end up putting a lot of what won't fit into the tiny space on adjacent shelves, but you can't see the food through the shelves the way this fridge is designed, so you lose will food stored in the back because you will forget its there. Even the freezer bulb burned out every 2-3 months, and when it does require changing, you have to remove an oversized plastic light cover that is doomed to break off its fragile plastic holding tabs over time and become virtually useless. The whole refrigerator is heavily dependent on molded plastic interior parts that make it feel like planned obsolescence from the get-go. After only 30 months of ownership, this big barking dog began to fail. Even though we purchased a 10-year warranty on the compressor, we couldn't wait to get rid of it. Instead of have it repaired, we took our opportunity to get rid of it and bought a much better built comparable Frigidaire model that meets our needs perfectly. We still own Whirlpool appliances (washer and dryer) but my faith in Whirlpool as a brand name soured after this poor product experience, and we will never equate Whirlpool again with the quality it once stood for without much closer scrutiny and awareness before considering buying anything of that brand.

2 YEARS OLD AND THE INTERIOR PLASTIC BACK WALL SPLITS WIDE OPEN. LOWER REFRIGERATOR WILL NOT COOL. WHIRLPOOL TELLS TECHNICIAN TO USE GLUE AND DUCT TAPE. THAT IS THE WARRANTY. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, WHIRLPOOL OFFERS $15 OFF PURCHASE OF NEW REFRIGERATOR. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IT, I WOULDN'T EITHER. GO AHEAD AND BUY ONE.

This refrigerator is not as advertised. This fridge does not come with an interior water dispenser as listed in the produce description. I special ordered this refrigerator from the web because I wanted a water dispenser and filter. I had to return the refrigerator.
