The freezer on this unit went out after 11 months and 2 weeks. Thats important to know because i also have a best buy 2-year protection plan on this item. But apparantly, that 2 year protection plan / total tech membership IS A SCAM. Best Buy refuses to service this themselves since this issue occurred within the first year. So even though I "have" a 2 year protection plan... its really only a 1 year protection plan because they are forcing me to go thru Whirlpool directly to get this repaired. Why would I be sold a 2-year protection plan thru Best Buy if they will actually only sprovide service for one of those years?!

I like this style refrigerator. The size is good for a family of 4. On this model the freezer pull out drawer feels flimsy and is a wire pull out basket. I prefer a solid piece. The overall quality is average.

I was disappointed with the plug they use on the exterior door to cover the holes for the reversible handle.

This refrigerator works well, is quiet and keeps my food cold. However, the design is flawed- the shelves on the door are very shallow and do not hold many items. This refrigerator replaced my small 18 cubic ft., freezer on top Maytag. Because of the design flaws, this one couldn't hold nearly as much food as my smaller one.

Average refrigerator for a decent price. The unit is somewhat of a minimalists refrigerator. There is only an ice maker in the freezer and no fancy bells and whistles. This is what my wife and I wanted, simple = less to break, i.e. more reliable and lasting for the long haul. The refrigerator looks great (from a distance) and functions well. However, there are over half a dozen rust spots on the body of the fridge within a year or two. This leads me to believe that within a few to five years, this unit will become a garage fridge, as the rust spots will only grow over time. For the price point, the coating should be more durable or the body a true stainless steel. It's okay to use a cheap grade stainless steel or other materials, as long as it's properly treated/coated in order to ensure longevity. This unit is already rusting when installed inside a humidity and temperature controlled home. I consider this to not be acceptable given the price for a minimalists refrigerator.

I've owned Whirlpool appliances for 23 years, so I decided to stick with a trusted brand. When Best Buy delivered the refrigerator, it had several dents on the side. Best Buy compensated me for the damage. Then within the first week, the freezer frosted over. Again Best Buy stood by their product and delivered another refrigerator. The 2nd refrigerator had a slight flaw on the door. We solved that problem by swapping the doors. This refrigerator is louder than the 19 year old refrigerator that it replaced. Other than those issues I am fairly happy with this frig. It has taken some time to adjust to a smaller refrigerator. I went from a 26 cu. ft. to a 21.9 cu. ft. That was a mistake. I don't think I would buy this refrigerator again. On a positive note, KUDOS to Best Buy for their customer service!

I'll preface this review by saying we were EXTREMELY limited to only a few fridges that will fit under our older, too short cabinets. I had a hair over 68.5 inches available, and this fridge just fit in there. All other available fridges were 3 inches shorter and skinnier, so I wanted the biggest fridge we could fit. We "upgraded" from white to stainless, our old fridge was a Kenmore that worked great and had zero issues with for 14 years. PROs: There is a lot more space in this fridge than our last. Great. That's about it. CONs: Like many of the other reviews, the fridge door can be hard to open. The whole unit also slides easily, so while you're using all your might to open the door, you pull the whole fridge forward two inches. The little plastic tabs on the crispers are very flimsy, I'm sure I'll break them eventually. The freezer is OK, but I think we have a seal issue. Twice now I've opened it to find everything covered in frost. I take everything out, wipe it all down, and make sure the door is slammed shut every time. It's good for a few days then happens again. I can't even review the ice maker, the delivery guys couldn't hook up the water because the shutoff is in the basement and not right behind the fridge. Salespeople don't bother to mention this, of course. The biggest gripe I have about this fridge is that the door doesn't shut on its own. I would be OK with that if there was an alarm, but there is not! So, in the end, it's just OK. Not the fridge of my dreams, but I guess the best option available at the time. I'll live with it. Would not buy it again.

Refrigerator performed well but the two crisper drawers did not fit well and were sticky to open and close. It took from early March to end of May for manufacture to replace and the new drawers were little better than the first ones. The drawers on the floor model at Best Buy did not have the problem but this Whirlpool model is no longer available at Best Buy.

I must start this review by saying run, don’t walk away from this company. If the slightest thing goes wrong with your order you will NOT be able to get in touch with any live person. Even after driving to the store where I purchased this overpriced refrigerator I wasn’t able to receive any satisfactory solution. I was promised call backs that never came. There is no in store phone system anymore. It all goes through call centers. I’ve never worked so hard to get something done. They use untrained delivery people who don’t think to do something as simple as locking the wheels in place after delivery. Yes, I’ve been waiting and working towards getting someone back just to do this for me. It’s not so simple on this unit. The refrigerator itself is ok. A model like this would have sold for $899 a few years ago. Everything about the quality is cheap. I had no choice as to purchase this because everything else under $2000 is back ordered. The door doesn’t even close on its own. All I can do is warn people, if you can’t walk out with the product you’re purchasing do not walk in to this store and place an order, unless of course you have hours of time to waste chasing down a solution to your issue

Would be nice to have water dispenser inside this refrigerator and a deeper ice bucket but it is spacious and suitable to those who stated the freezer dividers were NOT removable...try looking closer and have patience if you push in the clips on the dividers they even come right out...imagine

This seems to be a decent fridge. It is larger than the one it replaced except in the freezer area. The freezer is way too small for a fridge of this size. Couldn't fit everything from our previous smaller fridge in the freezer. The fridge part is nice and roomy on a positive note. I would only recommend this conditionally because of the too small freezer compartment.

I got this fridge to replace a 15 year old fridge that was making weird noises. This fridge cools well and has a nice, roomy interior, however it's a bit noisier than I would expect a brand new fridge to be. There is an annoying buzzing when the compressor starts, which according to Google is normal (but it's annoying!) and the compressor itself is a bit noisy. The noise is fine for now, but I imagine it will get even louder with age which will not be OK.

This replaces a 21 year old Amana bottom freezer refrigerator. Do to the fact that I got tired of replacing gaskets which caused rusting. They look exactly the same but this one has a pull out for the freezer. It is also one inch higher which I managed to fit into my old opening by taking off the top hinge cover. As far a energy use the new one uses 584 kwh and the old used 576 kwh. They are the same 22 CU FT. The new one is a inch narrower as well as the shelve . The vegetable bins are smaller due to the narrower frig. The pull out bottom freezer handles less food due to the the fact that you have to watch the hight of what you put in is not to high and interferers with closing the draws or falles in back so you can not close them. I had to call Whirlpool due to problem with the sealing of the bottom freezer Also due to the wire shelves being pulled out ice falls to the floor and can cause a tripping hazard if you do not see it. You have to get used to being new does not mean better.

The refrigerator itself works great, is quiet, and looks good. However, the 6.3 cubic ft freezer seemed a lot smaller than 6.3 cubic ft. We were not able to fit everything from our 7.0 cubic ft Amana into it - and the Amana freezer was not full. We have not hooked up the icemaker yet because, two weeks later, there's still not enough room for the ice cube tray. I'm buying a small chest freezer soon, which should alleviate the problem. So if you often stock up on food when it's on sale, you need to be aware of this limitation.

The Whirlpool refrigerator does an excellent job of keeping the fridge and the freezer extremely cold; I’m even using the middle settings so I’m very pleased with that! However, there are times when it is running and it is outrageously loud; sounds like a gas-powered generator is in the kitchen! That’s very disturbing but what can you do? Inventories are low right now.

The lighting and shelf flexibility are terrific! All the drawers are too small and are smaller than the 18 cubic foot refrigerator it has replaced. A butter tray (door mount) is not included and so must be purchased separately. This refrigerator is annoyingly noisy; ergo the three star rating.

Doors hard to open due to a more vacuum like close. Very noisy at times while defrosting, sometimes very scary during the night. I like that it was made in USA. Not bad overall but my wife hates it.

Refrigerator works but it is very loud and I don't just mean the ice maker. Also, mine came with a cracked liner in the freezer and I didn't notice it till a week later, technician suggested replacing unit but whirlpool won't, even though it was only 10 days old. Would not recommend purchasing Whirlpool products due to customer service.

This fridge has great shelf space on the door. It makes lots of ice quickly. It does show fingerprints on the stainless steel door, and makes relatively load noises off and on

I do not care for the basket bottom in the freezer, and the freezer could be larger. The ice maker works great when the drawer is pulled out, it will drop an ice cube to the bottom of the freezer, under the bottom basket. The drawers in top section do not slide very smooth.
