      Good Dryer but check your outlet

      This is a good dryer. My only complaint was when the Geek Squad came to install they wouldn't complete installation because they wanted me to change my dryer outlet to match the new plug. I thought it would be easier to change the cord/plug to match my outlet than vice versa. I was told I had to use the new style plug or my extended warranty would be voided. So if you plan on having it delivered and installed make sure you check your outlet. I had to purchase a new dryer hose and cord/plug from Best Buy for the geek squad to even install it, but didn't find out until they arrived that it still couldn't be installed. I think there should be something listed on the website stating the type of cord/plug and outlet requirements before purchase. I had to wait for my Dad to come up and change out the outlet for me before I could use my dryer. He was completely confused as to why we couldn't just switch out the cord/plug. Had I known I would have to wait then I would have to picked the dryer up at the store while my Dad was here instead of wasting extra money on buying the things they required for installation. Overall, so far I'm satisfied with the dryer. It works great and I love the auto sensing because that saves energy and money.

      I first purchased this dryer in September 2016. The dryer stopped heating 3 weeks later. I called Best Buy to get a replacement and they scheduled the Pacific Sales delivery crew to come to the house a week later on a Saturday to replace the dryer. Two guys showed up and looked behind the dryer to confirm the vent was installed properly and the unit was plugged in. That was the extent of service provided on that day. They left without replacing the unit and informed us we would need to schedule a replacement delivery. WTF??? Another week without a fully functioning laundry goes by waiting for the replacement delivery crew to show up and replace one new Amana for another new Amana. Fast forward 3 weeks and the second new Amana stops heating. Really??? I call Best Buy yet again and after 45 minutes they agree to exchange my 2nd horrible Amana for a Whirlpool at no additional charge. What bothered me greatly is that the Best Buy rep admitted the Amana dryers are not any good. Really? Why is Best Buy selling these units if they know they are no good?

      Don't Buy, Don't Buy

      I bought this dryer because I am the Cheap Guy. I also bought the Horrible Amana Washing machine. This dryer takes THREE HOURS, yes 3 HOURS to dry a load of bath towels. It's Unbelievable that you have to keep resetting the dial to High Heat, like 5 Times! No the dryer is Not Overloaded I tried different load volumes and 3 Hours later the towels are dry. Clothes only take about 2 HOURS. The washing machine has Little Arms and Does Not move the clothes around very well BUT if you start the wash and walk away the water will DRAIN by itself out of the washing machine and then you have to refill and start over, a waste of Water and Soap. Don't buy these machines from Amana. I Really wish that I would have spent an extra $100 and bought better machines. There's a reason that these machines are SO Cheap. I hope this helps everyone. Thank You

      My dryer died in my vacation home and needed a quick replacement. Saw this one at Home Depot and was going to buy on the spot but they wanted me to come back for it next day. Good thing because it was $100 less at Bestbuy and I was out the door in 5 minutes and they assisted getting into my SUV. It is virtually identical to the 9 year old Kenmore that I replaced; Amana, Whirlpool and Kenmore are the same. My old one just stopped running and I think it was probably a minor problem but at this price it was not worth fixing. Reused the old plug and had it running quickly. Seems to dry in expected time and runs quietly. I easily switched the door hinge to open from right to left based on my room layout. Very happy with the product and Bestbuy was awesome.

      interior finish is flaking off the drum.

      We purchased our dryer several months ago. We had only had the dryer for a few weeks or maybe a month. We noticed the white finish on the drum was flaking off. The finish continues to flake, so obviously there was a design flaw somewhere. We contacted Best Buy and they would not consider helping us since we didn't buy "their protection plan." Since when do you need to pay "extra" insurance when the product is faulty? We contacted Amana also. Because they said it would not affect the performance, they weren't willing to do anything either. How do we know it won't affect the performance down the road? Consequently, I will no longer purchase any Amana product, and I will no longer shop at Best Buy.

      There are no digital elements to operate this dryer, which was a good thing for me. Price was competitive, but the most important factor was that I ordered it on Saturday and it was delivered on Monday afternoon. The Best Buy delivery team called and emailed several times to update the status of the delivery, so I knew exactly when it was coming. Delivery took less than 5 minutes and the team was fast, friendly and effiecient. When the door to the dryer was not closing unless slammed, my husband loosened the latch with a screwdriver, so now it closes without having to slam it. No cycle ending buzzer, which was also a plus for me. Dries my laundry in expected amount of time. Happy with my purchase and would recommend.

      This is a great dryer for the price. I was able to find it via Open Box and have no complaints. There is a small ding on the back, but it otherwise looks brand new. The dryer is extremely quiet - almost to the point where I have to double check that it is running! The dryer lint catch is super easy to clean and it is big enough inside to hold not just a queen comforter, but multiple blankets as well. The cons to this dryer are that there is no interior light in the drum, and there isn't a timer to tell you how much longer there is on the cycle. It also cools down extremely quickly so there isn't a fresh-from-the-dryer feel about your blankets and towels, which is of course, personal preference.

      This is a terrible dryer. It got delivered and didn't work, Delivery Guy stated it was my outlet. I just purchased this property and had an inspection showing that outlet was fine. I called in a Electrician (more money) and let Best Buy know it was the Dryer 5 days later they brought me another Dryer. This was a seasonal rental property and it was going to be rented for the next 3 weeks. exactly 28 days to the date the 2nd Dryer went bad. I had to compensate my renter and had to have another Dryer brought out. Best Buy was able to Deliver another 5 days later and so far its been 3 weeks I don't hold out hope it will last 6 months this is a nightmare product.
