I purchased the Arris - SURFboard AC1600 Dual-Band Router with Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem. Because I didn't want to be hit with charges on my cable company. I don't like being nickel and dime over cost for renting the cable company's modem and router.. I've had the modem/wifi router now for about a good solid month and a half. It was simple to get the modem up and running to hitches at all. You just have to make sure that your cable carrier states the modem is comparable to what they use. My carrier had a list of modems that they suggested would work. The Arris is very fast, no drops, haven't experienced any slowness. It was a good purchase and priced fairly.

very good operation, it is compact, fast, it does not fail me, I have connected cell phones and tablets, the small defect that I see is that it lights up a lot in the dark.
