I purchased the Arris - SURFboard AC1600 Dual-Band Router with Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem. Because I didn't want to be hit with charges on my cable company. I don't like being nickel and dime over cost for renting the cable company's modem and router.. I've had the modem/wifi router now for about a good solid month and a half. It was simple to get the modem up and running to hitches at all. You just have to make sure that your cable carrier states the modem is comparable to what they use. My carrier had a list of modems that they suggested would work. The Arris is very fast, no drops, haven't experienced any slowness. It was a good purchase and priced fairly.

very good operation, it is compact, fast, it does not fail me, I have connected cell phones and tablets, the small defect that I see is that it lights up a lot in the dark.

I'm so glad with it , I can even get the wifi from my yard of my house

This modem is so helpful for connecting my devices wired and wireless.... I was tired paying for leased equipment from internet provider. I am glad bought my own for affordable price.

Haven't had any problems. Works fine. My speed hasn't decreased and I like that it's small and doesn't take up a lot of room

The combination of router and modem is very nicely design to reduce heat to the internal part of the device. Fast response.

I had it up and running in less then 10 minutes and it's been running for a month now with no issues.

Compared to other product, Arris cable modem is really giving us the best or excellent service as yo providing internet and cable wifi access.

Fast dual bands WIFI router. Stronger Signal compare to my older Motorola Arris router. Cover my basement, first floor and second floor on a 3500 sq ft house. Dual bands enable dividing your bandwidth between 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz That way if you have lots of device you can distribute them between the 2,4 or 5 GHz band and not let 1 band clogged with traffic and slow down. The 5 GHz band in my case has less traffic and interference and thus faster. I have a Blu Ray player that is connected via Cat 5 cable to the router. This make the Netflix and internet streaming Blazing fast and not using up the Wifi traffic bandwidth Setting up is incredible fast and easy. Remember to change your Admin password. because the factory admin password is "password" anyone given the wifi access can log to 168.1....... address and take over your router . I recommend buying this router over other cheaper older Modem Wifi Router.

Tried to bring it back and they would not let me as I was outside the 30 day deadline despite the fact that I showed them that I had already brought it back once because it did not work and then I had to go to a funeral out of town during that time also

I purchased the AC1600 to replace my cable company’s modem and my recently failed Cisco router with one device. The flexibility and selectable user options made the AC1600 the perfect replacement solution. My knowledge of current network technology is limited so product support was also a primary purchase consideration. What turned out to be network interference from a nearby elementary school caused some initial performance problems. A frustrating 2 hour long attempt to resolve the issue through my purchased Best Buy Geek Squad coverage failed to resolve the issue so don’t waste your money with that added expense. A call to Arris product support connected me to an extremely helpful and knowledgeable representative who patiently walked me through the process of changing the device settings which resolved the problem in 10 minutes. Speed and range are great with streaming video and uploads easily exceeding what I was experiencing with my cable company provided devices. Well done Arris!!

Pros: It works, it's fast, it can cover a 3000 sqft. home easily if placed centrally. Easy to use, works great, READ THE MANUAL!!! If you want the best use and to use the bells and whistles as intended... Keep the manual in a safe spot. Cons: It gets pretty warm, like hotter than my laptop. This modem/router should have a built in fan.
