How it works
The partner experience
When a customer places an order, the partner taps into Best Buy’s real-time APIs to determine product availability. This offers BOPIS within their own e-commerce experience, collects the sale and then sends the order to Best Buy for fulfillment.
Best Buy steps in
After customer checkout, transaction processing, fraud review and order submission by the vendor, Best Buy locates the product at a store, stages it and notifies the partner when the order is ready for pickup.
The customer experience
The customer picks up their product within a few days, and the partner is charged a fulfillment fee. If necessary, a customer can return their product to the Best Buy store. In that case, Best Buy notifies the partner to return customer funds.
