Customers value the ROG 17.3" Laptop for its exceptional gaming capabilities. They appreciate how quickly it boots up and its ability to run games flawlessly at ultra settings.
Primarily using this laptop for development using Unreal 4.10. Have owned it for about two months at this time and have had no issues. No dead pixels, no sound problems, no application crashes or BSOD. Limited actual gaming time, but it has ran GTA5, Skyrim (with some mods), Rust and DayZ without an issue and with a respectable frame rate. This configuration is a great balance of cost vs performance as the upgrade to the 980M runs a couple hundred dollars. The 970M has worked for all my needs up to this point both in gaming and rendering. It's incredibly easy to add an SSD into the available M2 slot, which would be my main suggestion for an upgrade. The biggest issue I had was finding a bag to carry it in! I ended up getting the Everki Beacon backpack which works really well.

I broke my gaming desktop and needed to buy a new gaming PC so i could play again, I couldn't really afford something big and my boyfriend recommended this laptop for me. For the price, it's pretty f*cking great. Multitasking is great, Customizing it to my needs is simple, and Gaming runs solid at great quality. I can play big games easily and i love it overall. The only issue i've come by is when my laptop starts up, theres red and white streaks when it loads up but it goes away once it's on. Just a lose connection when it was shipped, wasn't really something that i couldn't fix.

So I ordered this computer on April 2, 2016 and received it today, April 6 and had problems right out of the box. The first problem I noticed was quite a bad buzz with the speakers when volume is only halfway up, which is pretty terrible for a $1,299 computer to do this and not my four year old $329 HP Pavilion 17.3". But that's not the main problem. The big problem I am experiencing is this laptop is not holding a charge. The battery level has remained on 77% and says "Plugged in, Charging" but isn't because as soon as I pull the power chord out, the laptop cuts off. I expected this laptop to be a lot better than a inexpensive little computer I bought four years ago. The speakers do not buzz and the battery can hold a charge. however, the speed of the computer is lightning fast and very responsive, which is why I'm giving this review an extra star than what I was going to. This would not be Best Buy's fault, this is the manufacturer's fault. I will be sure to edit this review as soon as I receive a properly working system.
