I bought this for an older desktop computer I gave to my kids to use for school. It was easy to set up and perfect for plugging in additional USB's. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Purchased this to expand USB 3.0 capabilities of my Surface Pro Tablet. I was worried that my tablet would not be able to power up everything I needed for portable MIDI/Audio devices. The fact that I can externally boost the power by plugging it into a wall outlet is perfect for my needs. Additionally, even without my tablet/laptop, I can plug it into the wall and charge a variety of USB devices simultaneously, without the devices auto-connecting to an Operating System. I can now charge my phone, two GoPro cameras, and a remote controller for the cameras simultaneously from one power outlet, using nothing more that the devices respective USB adapters.

I bought this device to use with my Surface Pro, which only has one USB port. The hub is great since it means I don't have to keep unplugging my aux mouse/keyboard in order to use a memory stick or something. The hub was super easy to use; I just plugged it in, Windows downloaded the driver, and it was up and running. My only complaint is that the hub's AC adapter takes up space and the cord adds extra clutter to the desk. What's more, it doesn't seem necessary. If I have the receiver for my wireless mouse and keyboard plugged into the hub, then plug in my power-hungry external hard drive, the response range for my mouse greatly decreases, regardless of whether the hub is plugged into the AC adapter or not.
