I bought this for an older desktop computer I gave to my kids to use for school. It was easy to set up and perfect for plugging in additional USB's. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Purchased this to expand USB 3.0 capabilities of my Surface Pro Tablet. I was worried that my tablet would not be able to power up everything I needed for portable MIDI/Audio devices. The fact that I can externally boost the power by plugging it into a wall outlet is perfect for my needs. Additionally, even without my tablet/laptop, I can plug it into the wall and charge a variety of USB devices simultaneously, without the devices auto-connecting to an Operating System. I can now charge my phone, two GoPro cameras, and a remote controller for the cameras simultaneously from one power outlet, using nothing more that the devices respective USB adapters.

    Nice Hub

I bought this device to use with my Surface Pro, which only has one USB port. The hub is great since it means I don't have to keep unplugging my aux mouse/keyboard in order to use a memory stick or something. The hub was super easy to use; I just plugged it in, Windows downloaded the driver, and it was up and running. My only complaint is that the hub's AC adapter takes up space and the cord adds extra clutter to the desk. What's more, it doesn't seem necessary. If I have the receiver for my wireless mouse and keyboard plugged into the hub, then plug in my power-hungry external hard drive, the response range for my mouse greatly decreases, regardless of whether the hub is plugged into the AC adapter or not.

    Dynex™ - 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub

This is a compact USB hub (sold only at Best Buy) that I needed to run stuff from one of my laptop’s high-speed USB ports. Having only two high-speed ports to run stuff, I was always alternating what I could use. By having the extra hub to expand, I can now run a wireless mouse, laser printer, and large data external backup hard drive without any lag in their operation on just one of the two ports. It is powered by an electrical cord, which gives it the power to run all these power hungry high-speed pieces of equipment. This was well worth the purchase and now I don’t have to juggle USB hookups anymore.

    It works well but...

This is a solid USB 3.0 hub. It provides a speedy connection. It also can charge a device even while the computer is of, as long as you have the power cord plugged in. It doesn't need the power to perform most functions, but I would guess that if you have a power hungry device to attack (like a hard drive) it might not provide enough power without the cord. And the cord, it has a small circular prong to hook into the hub which comes loose easily if the hub moves at all. A little tape fixes it, but doesn't look so good.

With EVERYTHING today being USB my HP Pavalion laptop didn't have enough ports. With one 2.0 and two 3.0 ports I needed more. This unit gave me an additional 3 ports (I used one on my computer for the unit which has 4) which allowed me to add my keyboard and mouse as well as my iPhone charging cable. Being a powered unit it provides power to all my devices without being a drain on the laptop power supply.

Simple, of course, easy to use USB 3 4-port hub. This replaced a Belkin version of similar product that I had nothing but problems with on boot and caused driver errors. This one works great on Win7 desktop. It could use a port or two in the back to those connections that are "permanent". Only other drawback is the light (blue) is somewhat bright and is always on - even when no ports are being used. So all it is essentially is a power indicator. Unnecessary feature. Low cost and reliability make this a great buy.

    Must have for an iMac

One of the really dumb design decisions for the iMac was putting all the ports on the back. If you are in charge of internal security at the CIA, this makes it very obvious if someone is trying to insert a thumb drive. For the rest of us it is . . . excessively painful to use thumb drives, or portable hard drives, etc., that need to be moved around. This hub solves that problem, putting USB 3.0 ports where they can be easily accessed. Since hub is powered, I can use it with my MacBook and any USB powered drives, just buy an extra cable! :) I can't comment on durability, as I have had it for less than a year, but no problems to this point - about a month of use. Bottom line - well worth it.

Good solid USB hub with 4 entrances, USB 3 compatible so pretty much it allows you to plug up to 4 devices at same time, great data transfer speed.

it's nice to have laying around when you need it. it has 4 multiple ports that are 3.0 speed. VERY FAST compare to the 2.0. I would definitely recommend getting a port that has 3.0 speed. The only thing about this multiple port is that it requires that you plug it in.

I got this USB 3.0 hub for my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, that came with 2 USB 3.0 ports. The hub is supporting 3 external drives and a USB keyboard with back light, using the provided power supply. I plugged everything in and it worked without a hitch. The cables were long enough and the power supply is cool to the touch. Price-performance is excellent.

I have three USB 3.0 drives and a USB 3.0 DVD burner and only one USB 3.0 port on my laptop. This perfectly connects them all up. Transfers are blazingly fast. The power LED is very bright. I turned the hub face down so it doesn't annoy me when the lights are off.

This is a great addition if you don't want to put too much on a docking station. When at work, I use it to add a keyboard and mouse plus a display port adapter I got earlier for my surface pro. Makes my system feel like a full desktop plus the occasional touch and mouse convenience possible on the cheap.

I got this to add additional ports to my MacBook Air while in the office. Works great. The only downside I've found is that it doesn't provide enough juice to charge my ipad, so that's what the other port on the computer is used for.

If you need more 3.0 usb ports, the answer is right here. Simple plug and play, no hassles. Just put in place and use. Only drawback would be if you move it around a lot, say, for a laptop, adapter falls out very easily. If that doesn't matter, you are all set.

This hub runs as fast as my usb 3.0 ports. It has a good power rated external power supply. I have 2 external dvd drives connected to it and I use it for external hdd drives. Everything runs just fine.
