This style is pretty much a standard in the tripod arena these days. It is very compact when closed and folded which makes it very convenient to pack or carry. It is light weight and you most likely won't notice it when it's carried on or in a bag. Setup is fairly fast but not quite as quick as a click lock style. But still quick enough. I have a range of cameras from point and shoot to pro DSLR bodies. I can say that this is stable up to a micro 4/3 body and lens. Anything bigger than this and it gets a little wobbly. I have used it with a D200/Battery Grip and a 1D and it definitely moves when you got the shutter. But it's rock solid with my Pani GH bodies on it. The mono pod feature is a pure bonus.

A very good, compact, sturdy, yet light "travel" tripod that can support a medium size DSLR with a medium size zoom, especially if swap out the head (which is what I did). As is, it's very good value per price point.

I delayed posting this review until I had an opportunity to use it on a photo shoot. Just returned from Iceland to shoot the northern lights. The entire setup was done in sub-zero temps in total darkness. Removal from the zippered carrying case and complete assembly including adjusting the legs for the uneven terrain was accomplished by feel in the midnight darkness. In a word, flawless. This is an excellent product for all but the heaviest professional rigs. Perfect for a Canon with all the bells and whistles.
