Good machine/Canister needs more suction
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good product. It was easy to set up and I love how it maps my house and creates a memory of each room. I am able to use the app to have it clean only a certain room, or have it automatically clean the while house. I also set it up on the app to avoid certain areas of the house so that it doesn't get stuck under the recliner if someone is sitting in it with it open like my last vacuum did. I have mine set to come on every morning at 8am, which lets me know when it's time to leave the house and take my son to school. If the battery doesn't last long enough for it to clean the whole house, it returns to the charging dock, and once it is charged again, it starts back where it left off and finishes the job. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because the suction for canister to empty the dust bin isn't strong enough and many times unless I either empty it myself or use the app to repeatedly empty the dust bin 4-5 times, it gets really full and compacted in the dust bin. I paid extra so I wouldn't have to empty it as often myself, but if I don't remember to make it empty the bin after each cleaning (after it automatically tries to), it gets too plugged up and I have no choice but to do it myself by the second cleaning.

Does everything right and great value.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best overall value IMO if you have primarily hardwood floors. This does well on area rugs, great on hardwood (vac/mop combo) It vacuums great--navigation is on par with other similar lidar based bots. I have a roborock as well and its just as good--mapping is fast and it creates rooms pretty easily. The empty station works well and the built in mop is decent. I think this has more value than AIVI cam detection--much cheaper and I threw cords in front of it and it avoided them pretty well. (see pics below) For the savings I bought the pro mop ($99) which performs better than any all in one vac/mop period. In pics below you can see unit rolled up past cord slightly--then detected it and went around.

Deetbot T8+ Outperforms Roborock S7
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well so far I'm not 100% convinced the S7 outperforms the t8+. The S7 may be a slightly better at cleaning, although not perfect. There is pet hair left behind when transitioning between the LVP flooring and a chair mat (see photos). Also, the S7 front spinner brush got tangled in an area rug and more than half of its rubber bristles broke off during the untangling process. I called customer support and (fingers crossed) will receive a no cost replacement part. I'm hopeful the S7 will outperform the t8+ with a little tweaking of the no-go zones and can provide another update soon. UPDATE: The Roborock was returned. Mainly due to thier customer service dragging its feet in sending a replacement part after sending the requested photos. Also, there was not a huge difference in performance to warrant a permanent place in my house. Lastly, they sent an interesting email after receiving the returned vacuum. See below for a screen cap..... Is it just me, why use the word pity. IMHO their response could have expressed more understanding in a less than positive experience with such an expensive item.

Love my papa roach.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So absolutely love this vacuum have had it for a couple weeks has only gotten stuck 1x someone left the blind cords on the floor. Love the invisible blocks and mapping features. I do wish it had a remote like the first ecovacs I owned many years ago or even being able to guide it on your phone would be helpful another downside is it needs little bigger dustbin, and last downside is it occasionally has trouble making it to its doc and wanders the house looking for it. I have owned 4 or more diffrent robot vacuum this is the best one by far. I love the self cleaning function and the mapping features. I haven't tried the mopping features yet but that has to do with my personal preference to not use just how.

How to have a super clean floor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had trouble to create the mapping but the customer service was very good and nice and patient to help me solve it! Thank you very much! Also taught me more skills! I bought it mainly for mopping. I like super clean and I don’t wear shoes inside the house. I realized it didn’t clean very well even I sprayed the cleaner on the floor before started. I tested it witha yellow cloth. But the floor looked very clean. Two days later, I used it back to back for four times. It was still dirty on the pad at the fourth time. (I didn’t mop for over a month before using it). Then I spin mopped very clean two days later. Next day I dry mopped with my swifter before using it. It’s still dirty. Then I used it everyday, every other day, every two days. It can maintain cleanliness within 1-3 days, with my clean bare feet. I haven’t tried more than 3 days yet. I normally used mopping twice, third (more) wetness, today I stopped the robot in the mid process and washed the cloth and then resumed it. I found doing this made the floor cleaner! The pad at the end wasn’t that dirty. Now I understand how to clean the floor better. Start with not too dirty floor. Wash the pad like at least every 30 mins, depends on how dirty the floor is. Spot clean first if too dirty. Hope it helps everyone who wants super clean floor. I can lie on the floor doing exercise everyday now. I believe this machine was designed to mop very often for bare feet at home. The dirt on the pad as the last attached picture is nothing if you put it in a bucket of water. By the way, I was amazed by how precise the mapping skills was! Fantastic! Lastly, I bought it on sale. Then received an email from Best Buy that was out of stock! Then the store called me for available and ready for pick up?! I was disappointed and then excited. Thank you very much for South Torrance store. Sorry, forgot the staff name. He gave me back the discount price. He even helped me to put it in my trunk. It was very very heavy. Thanks a lot! Thank you Best Buy! Great service!

Self emptying bin does not work with carpet fluff
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that I was initially very excited about this purchase. This Ecovac had all the features that I was looking for in an automated vacuum cleaner at a competitive price. In addition, there is an option to purchase a more advanced mopping attachment. BTW, kudos to Best Buy for offering the T8+ at such a competitive price. I own several automated vacuum cleaners from the competition that have less features and are more expensive. Let us start of the with pros: The optical avoidance on this Ecovac is awesome and it really works. It appears light years ahead of my roomba i7 and there is no more banging against furniture. The battery last very long and the carpet detection features is very effective It has a mopping feature with the option to purchase a more advanced mopping attachment, as mentioned above. However, please do not expect too much from the basic mopping attachment. Competitive pricing, at least from Best Buy So after listing several pros of the T8+ you might be wondering why the poor rating and the reason for returning this Ecovac. The main reason I purchased this Ecovac was for the self emptying bin. I love the self emptying bin on my roomba i7 and was expecting my Ecovac T8+ to work in a similar manner. This ended up being a total disappointment. If you are planning on getting Ecovac T8 + for the self emptying bin and have carpets, do not get it or you will be very disappointed. The self emptying bin has two small openings at the base to suck up the dirt from the T8+ bin when it docks. To my disappointment, this feature does not work. The carpet fluff was still in the bin of the T8+ after the self emptying base had turned on to empty the T8+ bin (see attached photos with the T8+ docked to the base and a view of the T8+ bin after the base had attempted to empty the bin. It is still full with carpet fluff. Subsequent photos display how full the bin is after the self emptying base had supposedly sucked up the carpet fluff from the T8+ bin. Again, you can clearly see that the T8+ bin is still full). I am not sure whether there is a design flaw where the two small openings on the base are not big enough to suck up the carpet fluff or the suction power of the self emptying bin base is not strong enough to suck up the carpet fluff. (For comparison, my roomba i7 with self emptying bin base that only has one opening but that opening is a lot larger and has no problem sucking up the carpet fluff when the i7 docks to empty the bin. Even though the battery and optical avoidance on the T8+ is excellent, this Ecovac got stuck for no apparent reason next to a piano where none of my other vacs got stuck. It happened a few times. A minor con was that you can’t custom label rooms but this was just a minor reason. So there you have it. I really wished this would have worked out based on the listed features. I also wish that Ecovac would have tested the T8+ thoroughly to make sure all listed features worked before putting this deceive on the market.

The Auto Empty Bin is Worthless
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mapping of this robot vacuum is truly impressive with the lidar and other features it has. That's it, that's the only good thing. The mopping is subpar at best and can barely clean tiled floors. The bin itself in the robot vacuum is truly garbage. It has a really cheap plastic shroud that does something, no idea what, but it's made out of the cheapest plastic ever. The auto emptying holes on the vacuum are incredibly small and get clogged when it tries to auto empty the bin. Their suggestion for the bin getting clogged is to empty it by hand, which defeats the purpose of the auto empty station... When you contact tech support, you get very poor broken English that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's a shame that the product itself is so bad compared to the mapping ability of the device. The app is slow to respond, slow to load, and overall just a clone of another app from a competitor minus it working properly.

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between T8 AIVI and T8+?
Asked by mira.
- A:Answer I was also looking for this since there isn't much information available anywhere on the T8 (non AIVI). Also the + stands for "Plus Auto-Empty Station" I finally google searched "Deebot T8 release date" and this is what I found on Ecovacs website about the difference between the T8 and T8 AIVI: "The DEEBOT T8 is designed to appeal to users who don’t need the camera monitoring function of the DEEBOT T8 AIVI but demand the best cleaning experience". This statement was taken from this article on Ecovacs website here: https://www.ecovacs.com/us/about-ecovacs/newsroom/official-news/ECOVACS-Expands-T8-Series

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between T8 AIVI and T8+
Asked by mira.
- A:Answer The T8+ is actually the T8 with the Auto Dust bin The T8 uses TrueDetect 3D technology (lasers) for object avoidance. The T8 AIVI uses a camera for object avoidance. You can also view through the camera with your phone and talk to your pets via one way communication. It also builds a database of things to avoid.

Q: Question1) Does the T8+ allow for Google Voice control to send the bot to a SPECIFIC room? 2) Does the T8+ work with the OZMO™ PRO MOPPING SYSTEM? 3) What is the suction power of the T8+? Thank you!
Asked by PBusardo.
- A:Answer In regards to question #1 for voice command of specific rooms... I just tested it and it works, but it is limited. It can only voice command clean pre-determined labels (you cannot custom label a room) that you set through the app for areas of your home. Those labels are currently: kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, study, bathroom, laundry, lounge, storeroom, sun room, kids room. "Hey Google, tell deebot to clean the kitchen" successfully sent the vacuum to clean the kitchen only. What I don't know is what will happen if you have more than one bedroom or bathroom that you want to send it to. Alexa seems to have a more robust command library, but I don't have an Alexa to test it out with.

Q: QuestionI read the T8+ via Ecovacs: Due to the features of the TrueDetect 3D Smart Detection function, we recommend disabling the TrueDetect 3D Smart Detection function in the settings when the DEEBOT is cleaning on carpet. Does it not work on carpet??!!!
Asked by Photopro.
- A:Answer I did a review of the 3D vs the AIVI. I touched on the topic of the 3D on carpet. My experience was the 3D worked great on most carpet. It may have some issues on higher/thicker carpet. Such as shaggy rugs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOSzyaNgHso

Q: QuestionWill this work without internet? (Or, what will or what will not work?) Thank you!
Asked by looking4robovac.
- A:Answer Hi, Pleas kindly note that Deebot T8+ supports the networking function, but if there is no Wi-Fi at home, you can directly press the Auto Mode Button on the machine to start the machine. If you need to use some of the functions after networking, such as setting a scheduled appointment, mapping function or other setting, you can connect to the machine through the mobile hotspot, and you need to modify the online setting function next time, you can connect to the hotspot again. Note: The machine will display offline when the hotspot is turned off. No network will not affect the normal use of the machine. But some functions will be limited. Should you need any assistance please reach out to Ecovacs Customer Service Support Center to help out with any questions you may have. Best, Ecovacs Customer Care

Q: QuestionCan the clean base be used as a charger only? Also, does this come with the optional vacuum only head that lets you remove the roller brush?
Asked by ButtBurp.
- A:Answer Your first question, yes. The self emptying station can be used as purely a charger and will not run IF you leave the top of the bin open. So if you don't want the emptying station to run, leave the top open. Your second question. You can remove the roller brush if you want, but the unit does not come with a vacuum only head. We have delicate wood floors and DO NOT remove the brush and it hasn't caused any problems with the floors. The vacuum will run with the roller brush removed, how effective the cleaning is, I don't know.
Answered by AlGon
Q: QuestionCan the vacuum map both stories of my house and be moved upstairs and downstairs as needed?
Asked by edbrowne31.
- A:Answer Theoretically it can, but it is so unreliable that you will have to remap each floor at each session. It is better to leave it handle just one floor and never ever move the charging station (not even 1/16 of inch). Pick another robot which manages maps better.
