I bought this lock for my household hoping it would make things more convenient for the 6 people going in and out the front door. It did not. The installation was simple and mechanically it works great with my existing lock. I had a lot of trouble getting my initial phone to pair with the lock. I followed instructions and looked for help online. Like an insane person I just kept repeating the same thing over and over when I couldn't find answers. After more than 10 tries, it finally paired and I had done nothing different. The reason I took this smart lock back was because it didn't make getting into the house any easier, half of the time, if not most, it made things harder. I understood this lock wouldn't auto unlock as you walked up to the door. I was ok with opening up an app and hitting a button, my phone is in my hand when I get out of the car anyway. The frustrating part was that the phone wouldn't connect to the door before I got to the door (I have an iPhone 7+). Most of the time I would find myself standing at the door trying to get a connection. On top of that, I'd often have to restart the app after waiting, which would fix the connectivity problem. This was not ok. It was easy to share a key with friends and family and they all thought it was super cool, but had the same problems. I wasn't trying to be cool, I was trying to get into my house faster and more conveniently. I took this thing back after 10+ days and got a digital passcode lock. Tapping a couple buttons when getting to the door has been much faster and easier.

I installed this on my front door which was really easy about 20 minute set up but when I needed to let someone in the house and I sent them a key it was like the front door had no power and I had just put in brand new batteries. So it worked some of the time. I uninstalled it and returned it and am gonna look else where for a better working option

The Kevo Connect is great when you can get it to constantly work.Connection issues are it's only draw back and yet some of the problem has to be with the initiator(phone etc.). Easy to install. Instructions to initially pair your phone with the Kevo Connect should be highlighted as in WiFi on or off and Bluetooth on or off. It would clear up some misconceptions. There is a lot of neighbor WiFi ,Bluetooth, and satellite usage around my home. And so in the mornings or when i don't have a lot of electronics on, is when my Kevo Connect works best. The battery life is better than i expected but no where near as stated. I've replaced them once in approximately 6-7 months.Replaced with the better RAYOVAC battery. Recommend turning confirmation lights off to conserve energy. Oh and if it didn't have Bluetooth the Kevo Connect would be an improvement over regular deadbolt, simply because you can program it to lock automatically. The Kevo Connect is made very sturdy. It is good enough i bought two.
