This fan which I call a Texas tornado, after a reviewer, is very powerful, maybe too much. The lowest setting is strong and loud. I never turned it beyond low. I did cool my living room down (10x20 feet). But you couldn't hear anything else. And now, after a year, it doesn't oscillate, and maybe smells like burning, so we won't be using it any more. Next year, I'll just get one of those cheap 16" stand fans that i consider disposable.

After much research, we went with two of these fans to circulate the air from a window a/c unit into our bedroom and kitchen. The fan is very powerful and it moves air around as needed. We are very satisfied with the purchase and shipping from Best Buy was very fast for us even in Honolulu. The small negatives of the fan are (1) the air moving out of the tower unit actually makes some noise (not too bad though) (2) it has a stupid led nightlight around the power button that lights up a dark room (we have to cover it with a sock at night) (3) the oscillation is only about 30 degrees total (ideally, i was hoping for at least 45 degrees maybe even more). It doesn't have an ionizer which is a plus, because ionizers can actually pollute your home with ozone. I know, ironic right, sorta like diet soda causing weight gain. Anyways, we recommend it over the current alternatives if you want a tower fan that actually pushes air around your house/apartment.

It really is a great fan like the other reviews say it is, bu the only part I disagree with is about it being a loud fan, when i had first bought it and turned it on i was originally in agreement, but that’s because I didn’t know i had it on 3, set it on 1, and it was pretty quiet, but above all else, I really do love it, might have to look into buying another one.
