Long time MH player here since psp days. This is the most beginner friendly MH to date for any new players out there looking to get into the franchise. Currently I'm HR4 and haven't encountered anything too difficult to defeat. With that being said however, I'm still enjoying the gameplay quite a lot. You can create your canine companion to look how you want it and also the cat companion. They do add a lot of random dialogue that can get annoying but I changed the language to japanese so I don't understand what's being said and therefore not getting annoyed by unnecessary commentary.

The game looks good for a Switch game. It’s beyond my expectations! And the addition of new mechanics is cool too

All the new gimmicks they bring in MHR make the fight fun and exciting and all worth the while. It also looks great while playing on switch on or off the dock.
