Hello, Thank you for your question. To accommodate the compressor and some of the electronics there is a section in the bottom of the refrigerator that is 7 inches deep and 9 inches high. This section runs for the entire width of the interior and you would have approximately 3 inches of space from the section to the interior of the door. Regards Ann H Consumer Service
