It should connect fine if the tv has Bluetooth and it also has hdmi and a cord that connected to my tv.

Hi DD, Yes, the Samsung HW-C400 soundbar will work with your UN40D6000SFXZA TV. To control the soundbar volume with your TV remote, do this:

1. Connect the Soundbar
Best option: Use an optical cable
Plug it from the TV’s Optical Out to the soundbar’s Digital Audio In (Optical).
Set the soundbar to D.IN mode.

Or use Bluetooth
If your TV supports it (this older model might not), pair it with the soundbar.

2. Enable TV Remote Control
On the soundbar remote, hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds until you see “ON - TV REMOTE”.
