The Echo Dot: Works very wel and super easy to use once setup. Connecting it and setting it up, was a little tricky and time consuming but not really hard. Also manually make sure the volume button is on. It will not turn the the volume up and down. It understands almost anything. It responsored clearly and can here you in other rooms. You can it to turn off, if you dont want her talking in your other conversations. *Very nice to have around and answer questions. We love the Echo Dot!

This is my fourth Echo for our house. I work from home and Alexa keeps me entertain by playing the music I love. We also use it to check weather, set alarm/timer and control the lights through the smart switch. My daughter listen to music before bed and sometimes she asks Alexa tell her bedtime stories. Amazon keeps adding new functionalities and more and more devices become compatible with Alexa everyday. I can't wait to see what new things they will come up with.

The echo Dot is perfect and is very responsive the speaker is that great but the overall clarity of echo's voice is unbeatable and the use of Bluetooth speakers and other smart devices make life simple and easy.

I already had the Echo, which I thought the voice commands were going to be just a fad. Over time, I've become pretty accustomed to "talk" to my device and I've grown to get very much used to it. One day, I wanted to ask Alexa to turn off the lights in my bedroom and set the alarm, but then realized that the Echo is in the kitchen. So looking at buying a second one I came across the Echo Dot which I had not payed much attention before. I was a bit skeptical because of the price, but said "what the heck" and got it. Glad I did. Now I have it linked to the other one and can even turn on/off lights from pretty much anywhere and play music at will. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is on the fence of getting a smart device.

I have three Dots and two Echos in my house. The Dots are used in bedrooms. The kids use them mainly to set alarms, play music, check the weather, and drop in on each other (great feature; like an intercom) and me. We all just started using them as phones too; amazing that they can now make and receive calls.

Got the echo dot because it looked like a fun electronic toy. Use it for verbally setting alarms and timers, checking weather, news to name a few. We use it to maintain shopping lists and todo lists around the house which transfer to a smart phone app. Discovered it integrates well with many smart home mechanization tools. We use Insteon for lighting, ecobee3 for HVAC and as time goes forward I expect to see integration with other smart home tools we have in or home. Alexa has become a member of our family.

This is awesome and at an affordable price. I have it in my bedroom and tell it to play sounds of the ocean or thunderstorms to fall alseep to. I can tell it to set an alarm or put something in my calender. I can ask it to pay any kind of music either through amazon music, pandora or iheart radio. I wake up and ask for the news and the weather. I am going to get one for my dining room to play smooth jazz when I have dinner guests. The dot is amazing and is growing fast with enhancements. Highly recommend..

This is the Little sister to the Alexa Echo that has a much better and bigger speaker. However, if your setup includes a Bluetooth Speaker such as mine does, this is the perfect size for an unobtrusive delight. It is small yet powerful having all of the tributes of the big sister Echo. The microphone system functions the same and the only difference is that you would not want to play continuous music through this as it reminds me of the old AM radio sound . Well worth the poultry $50 price.

Amazon's Echo system has been out for over two years now. I am amazed how few tech blogs, articles and press there is on how very versatile this device is. As an original owner of the Echo, I now own five Echo Dots and utilize them throughout my four level home. The home automation features of the Alexa system affords me voice control of my Hue lights, WeMo devices, Simple Control, Sonos speakers, SmartThings and irrigation system! Combining resources of Simple Control, SmartThings and Alexa, I have full voice control of my audio/video equipment. "Alexa, tell Simple Control to watch Sony" On comes my tv, Sonos surround system and my lights turn on for tv viewing. This product is now so very economical that you can truly get into a basic home automation setup at a much improved price point. I highly recommend the Echo Dot and encourage all to try it out.

Easy to set up. So far I’ve used it to listen to iheart radio and to turn a WiFi smart plug on/off via voice command. Planning to set up hue lights & have no doubt that echo will allow for easy voice control.

Wasn't sure how I would use this, but now I wouldn't be without it. Love I can turn lights on before I go upstairs at night. Love that I can play music. Update my shopping list and make calls. Just wonderful.

We have only had it a couple of weeks, but so far I like it. We use it mainly as an intercom to our downstairs bedrooms. Sound is decent, but better when connected to external speaker. Super easy set-up!

I was looking around for something to get my brother and sister for the holidays and this was the perfect fit. Their kids love asking Alexa questions and now we can drop in and send fast & easy messages. In addition to great games like Star Trek trivia you can finally compete on jeaopardy. Also, If paired with Spotify premium, Pandora or Prime music .. practically any song is available. Excellent for playing music while cleaning, cooking, bathing, etc. Completely hands free.

Echo Dot is the perfect size for any bedroom. The speakers aren't particularly loud but it's perfect for inside a bedroom. If you use it for living room or kitchen I suggest syncing it to an external speaker. Alexa is very useful, sometimes she mishears what is spoken but 90% of the time it's fine.

I actually received one of those at work as a gift. Loved it! Super easy to set up and install skills via the Alexa app. Fun and affordable. Actually went and bought some for my own family for Christmas.

Love my Dot. Paired with a fire stick and you gave an effort less option for video streaming. Connected with the Amazon prime account for music and video. For such a small unit it does a lot of big tasks!

This is simply a smaller version of the Echo. So, it responds to voice commands. We added this to a send room. We had an echo in the living room already that we occasionally use for music, and we didn't care about sound quality for music on the dot. . I recommend this over the Dash wand, as the wand never stays connected to the WiFi, runs though batteries quickly, and you must hit the button to activate it. We like our echo dot and it currently has a new lower price. I recommend for anyone who doesn't care about sound quality inside the compact unit. BUT if you do, you can plug in a speaker to or connect via bluetooth, and maybe save money over the standard echo (if you don't spend too much on speakers).

The Amazon Echo Dot is a must have for your home. Its technology and sound quality are amazing for the price. It is very easy to operate and have had no issue thus far. Highly recommend this little gem!

I am an Amazon prime member and use Amazon all the time. The Echo is a great gadget to use to access Amazon and all of its benefits. It plays music, creates grocery lists, is an alarm and so much more!

First foray into making my home a "smart home" and Alexa is a simple easy to set up way to get going. connecting it to lights and able to play music and the speaker that is built in sounds pretty good!
