Summary:
The AWOL Vision ALR-F220C 120" Motorized Floor Rising ALR Ultra Short Throw Projector Screen is a game-changer for home theaters. The 4K/8K picture quality is breathtaking, delivering vivid colors and sharp details that elevate your viewing experience. The motorized floor rising mechanism is not only smooth and quiet but also incredibly convenient, allowing the screen to disappear when not in use.
Designed specifically for ultra short throw projectors, this screen maximizes the performance of your projector, ensuring you get the best possible picture. The black ALR screen is a fantastic feature, enhancing contrast and reducing the impact of ambient light, making it perfect for rooms with less control over lighting conditions.
While the price is on the higher side, and the weight requires a sturdy setup, the benefits far outweigh these minor drawbacks. If you're serious about your home theater setup and want a screen that delivers on every front, the AWOL Vision ALR-F220C is an excellent investment.

There are many projector screens out there, so why go with an ALR screen? Well if you're using a long throw projector, you shouldn't. However, if you got a nice little ultra short throw projector (ust), an ALR screen is required for a great picture.
Are these screens a little pricey? Sure, but have you looked at what a 98' or above LED tv costs?
It's ridiculous and may or may not have dolby vision (which the AWOL projectors have).
Now why would I recommend a floor rising ALR screen? Mostly because it is super cool! Unlike a fixed screen, you can have whatever on your wall (as long as it doesn't hang out several feet) and still be able to watch your projector.
I highly recommend the AWOL floor rising ALR screen if it is within your buget. It has a gain of 0.8 while others have a gain of 0.6 or less. What this means is that more of the picture is displayed and the colors pop more on the higher gain screens. I saw the 3500 pro on a vividstorm screen and my AWOL screen and the difference is there.
While the difference appears minimal at first, added light to the room shows a noticible difference of more vivid colors on the AWOL screen.
While you can get a fixed screen with the same effect, I feel the floor rising screen is a wiser purchase for those wanting to utilize space as well as impress. The screen comes with a dongle that opeerates the screen as soon as the projector is turned on.
If you are able to put this together with a cabinet, it is one of the most awesome, futuristic things you can currently own in your home. I highly recommend the AWOL 120" floor rising screen!

I own this version and I absolutely love the fact that it is a floor rising model, when paired with the AWOL 3500 pro, seeing it rise up as the projector splash/startup screen is playing makes me feel like I am at the theater. The screen, when paired with the awol projector, operates in unison with the press of the power button, and while you have your own remote for the projector, once paired you only need one remote. I also appreciate that the screen recalls the previous height you selected and always opens to the perfect level.
The screen is solid construction, and reasonably quiet as the screen lifts or retracts! The screen does an excellent job of preventing ambient light from causing glare. I can actually watch tv on a projection screen in broad daylight comfortably.
I highly recommend this product, it makes my 55” TV look like a kid’s toy.

You think you'd get "accustomed" to most anything you use on a daily basis, but even after year of owning this amazing screen, we still comment to one another how incredible it is having our own home theater that disappears into the furniture when not using it!
As a kid, I remember my parents had one of those pull-down projector screens where they'd show old 8mm films of older family members and trips from the 1960s and 1970s. It popped out of the ceiling and pulled down, so I had naturally envisioned a motorized screen for our home theater, but when I started looking at options and traditional long-throw projectors, I discovered AWOL and the UST (ultra-short-throw) idea. The more I read about how far the technology had come, the more I was drawn, but I was still nervous as none of the local stores (even BB) had any I could "test-view" ... but the reviews were compelling. So I pulled the trigger.
Bought this, as a package from AWOL along with a console (the Station, they call it), that neatly holds this 120" screen and my 3500 Pro UST projector. We placed it all on a low-height ultra-wide piece of furniture, so the height is just PERFECT in our 10-foot ceiling home-theater.
Other reviews have basically covered how simple it is -- the remote adjusts it up and down with one button touch, but we connected the "Dongle" which powers the screen to the perfect pre-set position each time the projector/source is powered on, and then tucks it back away when you turn off the projectors -- it basically functions just like a TV ... and we added the 4500 watt Nakamichi Dragon for sound. But back to the screen -- the ALR design prevents image wash out quite well, as seen in pictures, and the bottom of the screen allows for acoustic/center channel transparency, which is nice if you put your sound source behind it -- but we used the shelf on the AWOL station. And AWOL even includes a little brush for cleaning, which has come in handy more than a few times during flu & cold season when the kids sit too close to the screen and cough or sneeze! Oh, and I should add like they do on Amazon -- I was NOT paid to write this review. I truly like AWOL that much, even their customer service has been awesome!!!
In sum, it's the best home-theater (basically a giant TV) experience we've ever seen, and now we have it in our home! Still in awe, every time we sit down and turn it on!

I bought AWOL VISION 120" Motorized ALR Floor Rising Projector Screen along with
AWOL Vision - LTV-3500 Pro 4K Smart UHD 3D Triple Laser Ultra Short Throw Projector. This screen is amazing. The picture quality is amazing.Easy to setup and use.USB dongle syncs with projector.
Even in bright room the image looks good.It is easy to lower and up with provided remote control and also it shuts down whenever we switch off projector with USB dongle.I'm pleased with overall quality, just we have to adjust keystone which will take little time
to adjust correct position.Even though it is pricy it works great.

This is my first projector screen and I love that it’s safely hidden in the base unit when I’m not using it. I truly considered the larger wall mounted version, but the piece of mind having it roll away and be safe from my kids’ toys is well worth the “sacrifice” in size.
It worked great right out of the box. No wrinkles, smooth action up and down. The power trigger from the projector works without really any setup; pulling it in and you’re done. The screen seems to do a nice job rejecting overhead light. We’ll see about longevity but so far, so good!

The ALR Motorized Floor Rising Projector Screen is a game-changer when it comes to creating a truly immersive viewing experience. One of the standout features of this screen is its ability to effectively block ambient light. With its high-quality materials and special coating, the screen excellently rejects unwanted light, ensuring that the projected image remains crisp and vibrant even in well-lit environments.
What sets this projector screen apart is its convenience and ease of use. The "quick floor rising" mechanism allows the screen to be set up or packed away in a matter of seconds, providing ultimate portability and versatility. It also comes with a sturdy tripod base that provides stability and support, eliminating the need for additional installation or mounting hardware. The screen itself is flawlessly designed, with a flat and smooth surface that prevents any distortion or wrinkles from affecting the projected image. Overall, the Floor Rising Projector Screen is a must-have for anyone seeking a portable and efficient solution to block ambient light and enjoy a truly immersive viewing experience.

Purchased 120" AWOL Floor Rising screen and have been using it for the last 2 months with AWOL-3500 Pro. It has been a wonderful overall experience. I have not done a comparison between no-screen vs White Matte vs ALR screen, but following are pros and cons in my opinion:
Pros:
- ALR/CLR effectiveness: The screen effectively reduces the ceiling light reflection. I have 4 strong ceiling lights in the living room, and I am able to effectively watch Netflix or other content without any issue. Switching off the lights will greatly increase the quality, but it is still very good for casual watching in living room when lights are required. My living room has big windows that get a lot of ambient light during the day, including some small side windows. Honestly, with open shades, the image gets washed out even on this screen, and its not watchable for movies with dark screen. However, with shades closed, the image gets better and is definitely watchable (just with lower contrast) for most movie scenes. I assume that without such an ALR screen, the image would be not watchable even with shades closed. For daylight viewing, I think AWOL recomment the Daylight ALR screen with higher screne gain. But this one is much better for evening/night viewing, even with some ceiling lights on.
- Looks like a high quality material. Couldn't observe any spots as such when it arrived.
- The screen has nice adjustable height setting, which is really useful and gives you flexibility for placing the project and screen base at different heights. And it keeps the height memory later as well.
- The motor seems quite reliable, I can open and close multiple times without any issues. One time it started getting stuck (wouldn't open or close) when I was trying to adjust the height and operating motors for long. However, that seemed like a thermal protection for the motors, so I left it switched off for ~30 min, and then it started working fine.
- It seamlessly integrates with Projector switch on button to open and close automatically.
Cons:
- There is no option to switch off projector without the screen also closing down, when the USB synchronizer is in place. I would really like this option to be present, where there are two switch off options with the USB synchronizer.
- The screen is not specified anywhere clearly. I found multiple sources with confusing statements, so I am not sure if it is 0.6 or 0.8 screen gain. This is an issue because, the Projector Dolby Vision settings require us to specify the screen gain to optimize the image. And AWOL customer service suggested to set this setting to screen gain of 1, which was more confusing. I couldn't observe any image quality difference as such, but was a minor confusing part for the setup.
- I would really like some wire passthrough groves, or the paddings to be little taller to pass the wires under the screen base. This would be an useful feature, since we tend to keep soundbar/project in front of the screen, and it gets very complicated to send their wires with the large screen setup right behind.

This screen is awesome. I have it paired with the AWOL LTV 3000 pro and it looks great. The screen rises up when I turn on the projector and goes down automatically when I turn it off for the ultimate cool factor. I love that the screen is safely tucked away when not in use so I don't have to worry about my kid messing it up. The body of the screen is very sturdy and heavy. The setup is a breeze. Basically, just plug it in and connect the USB dongle to the projector. Then turning the projector on and off takes care of the rest. The screen came with a remote, but I never need to use it. With the floor rising screen you don't need to put anything together like with a wall mounted screen. That saves lots of time and frustration. The best part about it is that the screen is only visible when I'm watching something. The rest of the time I see my movie posters hanging on the wall.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Game-Changer for Home Theaters!
I recently purchased the 120” Cinematic+ Floor Rising Screen to pair with my AWOL UST 3500 Pro Projector, and I couldn’t be happier with my setup. This combination has completely transformed my home theater experience!
Incredible Picture Quality & Light Rejection
The screen does a phenomenal job of rejecting ambient light, ensuring a bright, vivid, and crystal-clear picture even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Whether watching movies, sports, or gaming, the visuals are absolutely stunning.
Sleek, Space-Saving Design
One of my favorite features is how neatly the screen tucks away when not in use. It stays fully protected and blends seamlessly into my living space. The motorized rising mechanism is smooth and efficient, adding a premium touch to the experience.
Effortless Automation
The included USB trigger is a fantastic feature. As soon as I power on the projector, the screen automatically rises—no extra steps needed! It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in convenience.
Final Verdict: A Must-Have!
If you’re looking for a high-quality screen to complement an ultra-short throw projector, look no further. This screen exceeds expectations in every way, and I would highly recommend it to anyone serious about their home entertainment setup.

Very nice screen little bulky but it is big. Nice way to have a big TV and still have the wall for pictures. I like how it connects with the AWOL projector and opens with power up. Easy to connect. Awesome buy
