Your able to turn off bands that often are false radar alerts suck as K Band radar which typically happens near electronic doors. The app is also helpful as you approach tartar targets. The only downside is needing a paid subscription to do certain things within the app as you only get a 30 day trial.

Its Decent

One down side Im not a fan of is having to use the app to get the full experience so I cant use apple maps if I want to use everything, plus you have to pay monthly to use the apps navigation system

The Drive Smarter app and its features are free to use with a compatible detector like the RAD 480i. Please make sure your detector is paired to the app via Bluetooth. Very much an in between price point and it’s very observant to various frequencies. Easy to use, easy to see and hear. The app is friendly and helpful with or without the device in vehicle. Come with a car battery strength meter as well which seemed delicate and I turned it off for the reason. Does well in cold and hot weather

At first I thought it wasn't working correctly since it only detected 3 out of 10 cop cars I came across, but after searching how laser radars work I found out it was normal. It does pick up some false alarms, but it doesn't bother me, because it means the radar is working. Hopefully it will save me from getting a ticket.

It was time for an upgrade. I was going back and forth between the 350 and this 480i model. I spent the extra money and couldn’t be happier. Well worth the money and works as intended. Doesnt give off many false alerts.

May have to turn off device and turn it back on. Other than that still a great buy overall.
