To say i am not happy is an understatement. A $600 appliance that only makes ice for 1 person (1 to 2 glasses a day) does not last more than 2 years is beyond frustrating. I should have done more research, as everyone is stating they the unit stops working after 2 years. I love the ice, the reliability is a different story. Definately would not purchase again.

This ice maker can produce up to 38 lbs. of ice in 24 hours. If your ice maker is not performing properly, please get in touch with Opal at 1-866-907-6718. They will best be able to assist you in this matter.

So happy with this purchase. Super easy to use and produces a great product. I love the app feature. If I had a complaint it would be that there isn’t a scoop holder. But I really love this item.

We recently purchased this ice machine for our break room. Daily I need ot restart the ice machine, unplug it, then plug it back in and drain the reservoir at least 2 time before it will start making ice. Once it works it works, but be prepared to spend at least 20-30 minutes of your day babysitting it to make sure it starts working.

I bought this for my second house that I only go to on the weekends so I really like the Wi-Fi programmable feature. I only program it to run just before I get there so I have ice when I arrive.

I’ve only had this nightmare for 6 months and it’s already gone to waste. It leaks everywhere because of a faulty seal inside the machine but if I want it fixed i have to pay a couple hundred dollars. This ice machine already isn’t cheap I’m not going to pay more to have it fixed when it’s only been 6 months. Before the leak it makes a very loud squealing noise just not worth the money

I love the machine overall but two months in and it’s already having issues. Once the ice tray is full and ice is removed it no longer senses and continues to make by itself. I have to turn the unit off then back on again, this is rather annoying.

We are glad to hear you are loving your Opal Icemaker but are sorry for the issues you are having. We recommend that you try cleaning and descaling the unit to see if that helps. We loved it. Then it started going into Defrost Mode. I tried all the suggestions. No help. We called GE and got someone that could only help with the WIFI end. Still trying to get it fixed. My advice. Go to sonic and buy ice from them

Great ice maker. I really like the ice better than "sonic" ice. Easy to use and set up. A little pricey compared to other countertop ice machines, but; well worth it if you want "Sonic" ice.

The ice maker was a little bigger than I first expected when I ordered it online. But it fits well in my home and has come in handy by not having an extra drink stop in the morning.

Definitely worth the money!! If you love the "Chick-Fil-A" ice as I call it, you should definitely invest in this icemaker. I have gotten my entire family on this ice!

This is a great ice maker till the ice maker decides it no longer wants to make ice. I have owned 3 in 2 years and they do not last.

This review is strictly on the ice maker. The first one worked as it should until it started making a very loud noise. Obviously not right. Packed it up and returned to Best Buy for an exchange. Machine two showed signs of refurbishment and then leaked water from within the housing. Repack and back to BB. Exchanged for machine three. Seems to be working now now there weeks. The part? Having a Best Buy warranty on purchases saved me from blowing a head gasket. The BB staff solved my problem each time and left me genuinely glad to have purchased from Best Buy. So, I'm saying I think this ice maker is top notch BUT we had to go through two of them in a month and number three is still in the honeymoon stage. But the whole family just loves this ice.

if i could ask for anything, it is for the tray to hold the ice a bit cooler. it is sort of flimsy and ice melts a bit quick.
