Sturdy and Stable TV Mount

I recommend using the actual mount frame as the paper guide was just a hair off which actually made a big difference due to the stud spacing irregularity in my wall. I cannot stress enough the importance of drilling pilot holes which serve as a guide for the lag screws.

Inadequate Tilting Mechanism

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these Insignia Tilting TV Wall Mounts, one for an older 57" TV which weighs 80 lbs. The other for a new 85" TV weighing in at 96 lbs. This product is easy to install (make sure you find the center of your wall's studs) and I'm confident it will support the weight of these TVs. So why the 2-star rating? Quite simply, the feature meant to set the angle of the tilt does not work. Large and heavy TVs weigh too much. The bottom of the TV ends up resting against the wall. If you don't want that you will have to cobble together some means to hold the lower edge of the TV away from the wall.

I felt like I was going to have to hold the tv up after we connected it, but that was just my own fear. The mount was easy to install and does well.
