This thing is garbage and unreliable. It has a problem where it will lock itself saying there is pressure inside when there very clearly is not. When this happens you can not open it. This malfunction has caused multiple meals completely wasted as I and many other people have not been able to open it sometimes for a day or two after it happens. You can find on other people discussing this same issue on Reddit.

Lid locking mechanism design flaw

If you put a pint-size mason jar in the pot and close the lid on it, it'll push the locking pin in. By locking it, you essentially brick the unit - there's no way to get the locking pin to fall down again. Contacted Instant Brands support and they told me I'd have to return it. After I'd already put my yogurt cultures in the pot. :'(
What an incredible design flaw. You don't even have access to the pin, so there's no escape! The pin locked itself in there so good, I flipped the whole pot every whichway and shook it violently and it still stayed locked.
