This camera works good and does the job, but it would be nice if it was motion sensored.

Hi Namorr09.
At Ring, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are glad to read that you are enjoying your new Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.)! Furthermore, we believe in keeping people close to what’s important. That is why we are driven to create products that help you protect what matters most at home and empower you to connect with your visitors from wherever you are. Together, we’ll make neighborhoods safer!
The Ring Indoor Cam was designed with customizable motion detection giving it the ability to be adjusted to your needs. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

This is my honest review for the 2 Ring Indoor Plug-In 1080p Security Camera (2nd - Generation), which I purchased at Best Buy on Oct. 5, 2023 at the then Sale price of $29.99 (regularly $59.99). Not even 30 days yet, and one of the Ring totally stopped working on October 23. I was unable to return it, I was told that the return period ended on Oct 20, 2023 (not even 30 days yet). There's not too many things you can possibly do to troubleshoot why the Ring Indoor Plug-in cam just suddenly died. The only thing you can do is to press the button on the top center, and that was not responding at all. So I did the process of elimination on the power cable -- I replaced the cable from the good camera, still not working; I then replace the usb adapter from working camera, still not working. I tried holding the center button several times at varied intervals and many countless attempts but nothing happened. It's totally unresponsive. I bought this Ring indoor camera after I read the Forbes review on this product but later found out there are so many important things the writer didn't mention or more likely intentionally omitted on that biased review. One of them notably is that Ring Indoor Plug-in camera does not have the capability to store recordings locally on a memory card, it does not have a memory card slot. And the other specially important thing -- you are totally dependent on the cloud subscription of $3.99/month/device for Basic (so for 2 cameras it costs 7.98/month) or you can opt for Plus Subscription which is $10/month for all your Ring devices at one location, or Pro Home Security subscription at $20/month for all your devices. Even for the sale price of $29.99 it's way too expensive for that price and totally not worth that price. There are so many other better products. I thought I did my due diligence before purchasing Ring Indoor camera but I relied on a biased review instead of comparing the features with other possible camera alternatives. I didn't want to buy another Ring Indoor camera to replace the dead one. So I opted for a competitor camera which costs only $16 at the time (even at it's current price of $19 is a much better if not best buy than Ring) and have way more better features than this Ring indoor camera. Competing product has a microSD slot which allows you to record locally and provides a Free Basic plan subscription, or you can subscribed to their Cam Plus, Cam Protect, and Home Monitoring. The other competing cam obviously is a better choice than Ring Indoor camera. I just trashed away the 2 Ring Indoor cameras. Disclaimer: I do not work for neither Ring nor competing products and I received no compensation from either one. I was invited by BestBuy to participate in a raffle if I do a review on this item which I purchased. What I share here is my honest review irregardless of whether I win the raffle or not.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. Indoor Cam is a small, lightweight security camera with flexible mounting options specifically designed to be used indoors. If the device remains unresponsive, press and hold the setup button on top of the camera for 10 seconds.

Ring cameras are the best on the market to me. I have 5 indoor cameras and a front doorbell camera. I have had them for over 7 years now and they have never failed me yet. They have a wide range and can pick up and record everything.. the ring company has been sending out a lot of updates which brings new features. I will be purchasing a outdoor camera for my front porch to go along with my doorbell camera to point in a completely different direction. I would recommend ring products to everyone, they are very good .

A Reliable Home Security Solution. I've been using a Ring camera for a few days now and I'm thoroughly impressed. The ease of installation was a major selling point for me, and I was able to get it up and running in no time. The video quality is excellent, both during the day and at night. The night vision feature is particularly impressive, providing clear footage even in low-light conditions. One of my favorite features is the two-way talk function. Overall, I highly recommend the Ring camera as a reliable and affordable home security solution. It's a great way to keep an eye on your property and deter potential intruders.

I like having continuity when it comes to my smart home devices. Being able to have my inside camera and doorbell on the same app and all connected to Alexa is key. Easy to set up and provides great pictures.

Love the camera, but hate the RING system. I also bought 2 RING doorbells. If you don't pay a yearly subscription, it doesn't record at all, only notifies you of movement. The subscription is $50/yr for 1 or $100/yr for more than 1 device. There is a monthly plan too that is more expensive. For the price, it would be nice if their products recorded and deleted after 24 or 48hrs without paying extra. There is another product that does this. I will be switching mine out to those instead of buying more RING products. The camera itself works well. The picture is clear and it reacts to motion effectively.

It sounds like you are concerned with the need for the Ring Home Plan subscription. The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. We are always looking for ways to better our neighbors' experiences, and your feedback is an invaluable part of that process. Rest assured, we do take our customers’ feedback seriously and implement good ideas where we can.

I like this camera. Recording video through a clear window at night is very good. Recording through a window with a screen is ok. Recording video over wide angle and depth is very good. I like the motion setting for persons or cars. I like the default zones. I dont like that changing the default zones beyond a certain point is very difficult. The are 8 dots on the sides , which are difficult to move. I called Ring, rep suggested using the motion wizard. It is less challenging when using the wizard, still hard. Overall, this camera is a very good product. The $50price is reasonable

Plug in and for a low cost one connected to ring subscription is a win win situation. I am satisfied with the clear video quality. I am not using the privacy cover except for the first time. So cannot comment about that feature. Has night vision in infrared and motion detection for arming the ring devices. Lot of features packed in a small device. Would be 100% if a tilting/panning feature is also provided
