Hi Naveed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have a smooth installation process for your Ring Wired Doorbell 2K. What you describe is not the experience we want you to have, and rest assured we are here to help.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to installation.
The Ring Wired Doorbell 2K was designed to provide you with crisp 2K HD video and reliable home security, and a proper installation is the first step to enjoying all of its features. Here are some steps that can help you get your Ring Wired Doorbell 2K installed properly:
Before mounting your doorbell, make sure to set it up in the Ring app first. Open the Ring app, tap "Set Up a Device," select "Doorbells," and follow the in-app instructions to connect your device to your Wi-Fi network.
For a wired installation, please follow these steps:
Turn off the power to your existing doorbell at the breaker box before beginning installation.
Remove your old doorbell and disconnect the wires.
Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws. If installing on brick, stucco, or concrete, use the included wall anchors by drilling holes with a 1/4" masonry drill bit (not included) and inserting the anchors before driving the screws.
Connect your existing doorbell wires to the two screws on the back of the Ring Wired Doorbell 2K. It does not matter which wire goes to which screw.
Attach the doorbell to the mounting bracket by hooking the top of the doorbell onto the bracket tab and pressing it flush.
Secure the doorbell using the included security screws and the star-shaped screwdriver provided.
Turn the power back on at the breaker box.
Your doorbell should power up and the light on the front will begin spinning. Complete the setup in the Ring app.
For your Ring Chime, plug it into a standard wall outlet, then open the Ring app, tap "Set Up a Device," select "Chimes," and follow the in-app instructions to pair it with your new doorbell.
If you are having trouble with the installation menu in the Ring app, try the following:
Ensure your Ring app is updated to the latest version.
Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and that Bluetooth is enabled.
Restart the Ring app and try the setup process again.
If the issue persists, restart your phone and attempt setup once more.
