This vacuum is so powerful and the quality is excellent. I’ve never owned a vacuum that was this good. I’m genuinely impressed every time I use this.

The suction is way better than the other vacuum we had, this vacuum is light years ahead of the old one.

I have owned a lot of vacuums over the years, but the Shark Vertex Pet Upright vacuum is the first one that genuinely feels like it beats all my other purchases. When I look for a new vacuum, I always try to narrow it down to the following features that are important to me as a user: 1. comfort of using it 2. suction power 3. how easy it is to clean after you are done vacuuming. I'll try to elaborate on these three items and hope it will help you determine whether this Shark vacuum is for you. My vacuuming schedule is pretty much every other day. We have rugs and hardwood floors. I find that cleaning in tight spaces, upholstery, and stairs is made much easier thanks to the Lift‑Away feature. A particularly useful aspect is the ability to detach the pod while maintaining power to the brushroll, which helps immensely when reaching under furniture. However, at over 16 pounds, this vacuum is noticeably heavy to push around. On the plus side, the inclusion of LED headlights (love it!) is a detail that stands out by uncovering hidden dust you might otherwise miss. My kids started to enjoy vacuuming just because they can see the end result: as you run it and it sheds light on the floor, you see all kinds of dust and once you go over it once, it is gone. One thing I know is the Shark Vertex Pet vacuum is a true powerhouse, particularly if your home seems to "hoard" a lot of dust, has mixed flooring or has hairy pets. When using this vacuum, I immediately noticed the incredibly strong suction. On our Persian rugs, the PowerFins dig deep to pull up embedded hair and hidden debris better than any vacuum I've used before. When I vacuum hard floors, the soft roller glides seamlessly, picking up everything from fine dust to larger crumbs without scattering them. I think where this vacuum truly shines is dealing with pet hair, we have a dog that sheds a lot. If you have pets, the self‑cleaning brushroll is an absolute game‑changer, ensuring you never have to stop mid‑clean to cut tangled hair out of the roller. One thing I must mention about it, it is louder than I expected not unbearable, but definitely noticeable. Being so powerful at 1300 Watts, it does make some "vacuum noise". The build quality feels solid and durable, and the 30‑foot cord gives you plenty of reach. Cleaning and emptying the dust container is easy: detach the dust cup, press the release latch and debris drops straight out. For deeper cleaning, you can fully remove the cup and wash it with water. I am one of those users who like to keep my vacuums clean as well, so I take time and make sure the dust bin stays clean by rinsing the cup and mesh screen under warm water. Just make sure you air dry it well before putting it back together. Overall, I am pretty happy with this Shark Vertex. It isn’t the lightest or quietest vacuum, but its cleaning performance is outstanding in my opinion. If you prioritize suction power, pet‑hair removal and versatility, it’s one of the best upright vacuums you can buy. It’s the kind of machine that makes you realize how much your old vacuum was leaving behind.

We needed to replace our trusty but aging Shark vacuum which has been a rock star and so I chose the new Vertex Lift-Away upright as its worthy successor. My wife has a hair salon attached to our main residence and we also have cats so any vacuum has its work cut out for it! The Vertex is a solid product. It has a satisfying heft but is effortless to roll around. It is also the Swiss Army knife of vacuums that you can easily reconfigure for any cleaning task. Everything snaps together and you can convert it from a standard stand up push vacuum to a carry-around unit with an extended wand, to a handheld upholstery cleaner in just seconds. The unit has a generous dust bin with multiple filters (which you can wash out and reuse!) and couldn't be easier to disconnect and empty. No bags to buy, just unsnap and drop the trap door over your garbage can. The included HEPA filter provides what Shark calls "Anti-Allergen Complete Seal" which basically means that any significant dust particles get trapped rather than just recirculating into the air. This is extremely important if your are prone to allergies. The power cleaning head has a very cleverly engineered height adjustable, dual beater brush design that allows you to switch from thick carpet and area rugs to low pile to hard floor surfaces at the touch of a button. Also, the unit is designed to avoid clogging. It is self clearing and works very well. A couple of other features include LED headlights (useful) to an "Odor Neutralizer Technology" replaceable pod that freshens the air as you vacuum (a little gimmicky). I was impressed from the moment I first used this thing. I re-vacuumed my living room which had been totally cleaned two days before and was embarrassed by the amount of additional dirt that the Vertex picked up. I also have a low-pile area rug where the cats sleep and a couple passes with this unit had it looking like new! The unit has a number of optional attachments that you can buy separately but mine came with the pet crevice tool, the pet multi-tool, and the pet power brush. All have proven to be useful additions for our needs. Shark has once again hit it out of the park with this vacuum and I highly recommend it!

Shark - Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum The Shark Vertex vacuum was very easy to assemble. It moves effortlessly around objects and picks up even the smallest particles. Dog hair lifted right off the carpet and hardwood easily and the odor neutralizer worked well at masking the smell. The canister lifts off the vacuum and empties with a quick touch of a button. It is very easy to clean and has a large tank for debris. The handle and container are detachable and makes it easier to handle for wand cleaning up high, down low or on steps. It came with three attachments that make cleaning much easier. The small, motorized head worked well on stairs. The flat end cleaned the upholstery and mattress tops. The wand made it nice to reach down in between the cushions on sofas and chairs. I really like the suction power it has to pick up and make cleaning a breeze. The whole unit was slightly large and heavy making it difficult for carrying to different floors of the house and storage can be a problem if you don’t have much closet space. I give the Shark Vertex vacuum 5 stars and would recommend it as a main vacuum for all types of floors.

As an owner of not one but two Golden retrievers, my carpets and floor can get full of pet hair. The vacuum I have been using never can quite seem to pick up all of the hair. On light tan carpet, the layer of English crème golden retriever hair is noticeable. I was hoping to find a vacuum that could handle the job. With the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum, I think I have found the tool for the job. Out of the box, you will have some assembly required. It is mostly just joining hoses and hardware. There are no real tools required. With minimal mechanical experience, you should be able to put it together in just a few minutes. It comes with the basic upholstery and corner attachments that you would expect with this type of vacuum. After it is together, it is time to get to work. There are three levels on the vacuum. One for shag carpet, one for lower carpet, and one for wood floors. My carpet had a thin layer of dog hair on my carpet. The carpet is a standard low house carpet. So, I put it on the middle layer and got to work. I was amazed. The pet hair came up quickly. I only had to make a few passes. I saw the improvement immediately. The suction power was obvious. The receptacle can fill up pretty quickly with dog hair. The vacuum is a bagless system, so you need to unload it. The process of removing the canister and dumping it is straight forward and easy. Unlike other vacuums I have had though, the canister empties completely. I didn’t have hair getting stuck in it. Even the rollers on the vacuum don’t get bogged down with pet hair. It is very efficient. There is an odor neutralizer on the vacuum. It is basically a replaceable cartridge on the vacuum. I was a little skeptical about this, but it really seems to work. My carpet did not have a dog smell after vacuuming. Working with the vacuum, it has a light to help you see while vacuuming. This helps you see objects you may not want to vacuum up. I also really liked the swivel on the head of the vacuum. I was able to easily get around objects and even underneath tables. In conclusion, I was completely impressed by the Shark Vertex Pet Lift-Away Vacuum. It really made my carpets and floors look new. I have never been able to pick up all the pet hair as I did with this. The suction power is amazing and it is light and easy to use. Cleaning is easy. Pet hair doesn’t wrap up around the brushes. If this vacuum can stand up to my golden retrievers, I am confident it can handle your pet vacuuming needs. I recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets.

As I stated in the title, I have been a huge fan of the products coming out of Shark and Ninja, so this product review will reflect on my past history of purchases My wife wanted a new vacuum since our current one has seen it's better days When we started looking, we naturally gravitated to the new Shark Vertex line, and since we have a pet in our house constantly and grand pets visiting frequently, the pet version took our attention immediately. So we brought one home and have used it a few times before I wrote this Besides the quality brand - Shark, we liked that it will operate like any other upright vacuum and can be pushed around Adding to that, the ability to carry or pull this around as a canister vacuum had a lot of plusses for us When it comes to attachments, they have one included for every possible job (at least what I can think of) and they attach simply So how did it work? Like a champ Our dog is a giant breed (Mastiff) and sheds like any other dog, just in amounts proportional to her size. This vacuum tackeld right through the bob and got most hair on the first pass It cleaned out quickly, and so far did not see any of the hair tangles that can cause you much time with scissors cutting away The vacuums exhaust also seemed cleaner and the air didn't take on that "just vacuumed" smell. Maybe it was because of a new vacuum, but I believe that they just have better exhaust air purification Overall we are very pleased with our purchase, and confident that it will last like the rest of our Shark products in our house

We’ve had various brands of vacuums over the years that have given us experience with a variety of features and price points. This Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away upright vacuum offers some great features and is an especially good deal when one catches it on sale. Setup is a simple process of assembling the respective parts together and no tools needed which is nice and efficient. The vacuum cord length is sufficient and should provide decent access to one’s cleaning space without unplugging too often. I like the Hawaiian Grey accent color as it’s a nicer shade than plain old grey. This particular vacuum has some nice design features that really improve the functionality of this model. Foremost is the location of the power button and the switch for floor surface mode as they are both conveniently located on the curve at the top of the handle. No more bending over to power on the vacuum or to switch between bare floors and carpet. The remaining buttons on the vacuum are also clearly labeled and located for ease of removing the dust collector bin or detaching the powered lift-away for portable cleaning. The biggest criteria met is what one ends up with in the dust cup after vacuuming. It is still amazing to see the dust and debris collected after one vacuums what appears to be a clean floor. The end result is clear, visual proof that the suction this vacuum provides is more than sufficient to clean bare floors to carpet. I also tried the accessory tools which one can use at the handle or wand release points of the handle portion of the vacuum. Most all of the accessory tools store onboard the vacuum cleaner, and I had no issues with them coming unattached during vacuuming. I’ll be interested to see over time how the DuoClean PowerFins HairPro design works as it is typically inevitable that hair and thread get wrapped around vacuum rollers. Shark notes that if one sees hair on the brush roll to continue vacuuming on carpet/low pile mode on a bare or low carpet surface to enable the self-cleaning brush roll to remove hair and send it to the dust bin. The LED headlights actually come in handy when cleaning near furniture edges or in darker corners. I’m undecided on the Odor Neutralizer Technology as I’m not really sure it’s necessary but perhaps my opinion will change over time. The odor cartridge can be removed from the dial if one does not want this feature enabled. Routine maintenance means monthly cleaning of the pre-motor filters and yearly cleaning of the HEPA filter. Lastly, Shark provides a five-year warranty on parts and labor which is nice and gives some assurance of them standing behind their product. I’d recommend this Shark upright vacuum as an effective cleaner with lots of useful, well-designed features. It’s a great option for providing an upright vacuum that also allows for portable use by simply using the powered lift-away portion of this vacuum.

When you need to clean up after a beast, you need a beast of your own. And let me tell you, this Shark Vertex Lift-Away vacuum is the beast that you need. Right out of the box this vacuum has made me happy. It is very easy to assemble with maybe six total parts to snap together. No tools required. And the setup guide is printed right on the box! Essentially its just attaching the handle to the base, adding the dust receptable, attaching the hose, inserting the air purifier into the base, and away you go! From box open to first vacuum was no more than 15 minutes. Once put into use, this vacuum showed that it is an apex dirt predator. Dirt does not stand a chance and I honestly cannot see any other vacuum that could even try and prey on this vacuum. The first vacuum with this hefty machine was a heavy traffic area that had been vacuumed and carpet cleaned in the last week. The amount of dirt that this vacuum pulled up even having been recently cleaned was impressive! The carpet looked cleaner, newer, and even felt newer! On top of all that, and possibly even more impressively, the room even smelled cleaner thanks to the air purified attached. Normally I need to crank any scent up to 11 for me to smell a difference, but I decided to leave this adjustable filter on the lowest setting and even at this setting it was a noticeable difference! The lift-away function has also been a godsend. The pictures for this vacuum show someone using this function to vacuum under furniture, which I suppose could be helpful. However I love it for stairs and cars. As I mentioned previously, this vacuum is hefty is both stature and weight. Its not heavy enough that it is overly cumbersome for the average user, however if you have ailments that effect your mobility, you may find this vacuum a little bit difficult to use. That being said, it does pivot nicely and is not annoying to work around corners or objects. If I had to pick a downfall for this vacuum, it would be tool storage. This vacuum comes with three useful tools, however it only has storage for two. And that storage is not secure at all. Every time I have vacuumed at least one of the tools has fallen off the vacuum. I just started putting the tools in a basket in the closet that I store the vacuum and grabbing them as needed. However this is just a small inconvenience that is completely offset by the performance of this monster. Do you need a new vacuum to take over the heavy lifting for your home? This Shark Vertex is what you are looking for. It is a corded heavyweight that will knock out filth in the first round and leave your home feeling rejuvenated. If its in your budget, don't hesitate. Just buy!

I have four cats and two dogs so I really put this through the test. First right out of the box it takes no time to get it up and running. It has three individual settings depending on the type of floor you are going to vacuum. First setting is for Hard Floors. This is a great unit for entry ways and kitchens on this setting. It really gets all the crumbs and pet hair and doesn’t leave anything behind. It is very smooth and easy to move. It’s not real heavy and easy to use. The next setting is for low to mid texture carpet. It works really well and picked up all the pet hair. The canister was almost full after one use over my family and living room. It glided very easy and did not have to exert much force. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this did. It also comes with a thick or shaggy carpet setting. This setting was great for my entry and bathroom rugs. It comes with some attachments but I was particularly fond of the attachment for steps and furniture. It was really easy to use and works great for these. All in all a great vacuum and tremendous value.

As a person living with a dog and cat and three long-haired humans, the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum has answered some prayers for me. Our 1200-square-foot home has hard floors along with many area rugs, meaning we need a versatile vacuum that can grab hair and debris from many places and different surfaces. For the past couple years, we’ve used a battery-powered stick vacuum that does a pretty decent job, but struggles with some of the difficult jobs on area rugs. It also requires frequent changes of the brush head to switch between hard and soft surface brushes. With the Shark, I get the best of both worlds: extra suction power to deep clean rugs and a dual brushroll head that can do hard floors and rugs without head changes. The powerful suction and specialized brush heads combine to do a really great job lifting up the pet hair and dander that my cordless stick vacuum leaves behind, and the “Powered Lift-Away” feature allows the vacuum to slide under furniture and into places a stick vac could go. I will say I wish the cord was a bit longer. 25 feet is fine for most places in my house, but with an open floorplan kitchen and living room combo and a lot of obstacles to get around, 40 feet would have been better. The pet power brush does a great job on things like the couch, where my black kitty likes to leave piles of her ultra-fine fur. The brush isn’t electrically-driven, but is instead suction powered, which I guess might lead it to be less effective in some applications, but everything I’ve used it for has been great. I will say the extra-complicated dual brushroll head adds some bulk, which means cleaning with the Shark vac isn’t as effortless as using a lightweight vac, but the effectiveness and time savings more than makes up for the extra weight, and I’ve also been very surprised to see none of my family’s long hairs have gotten stuck in the brushroll. Speaking of effectiveness, the Shark’s 1300 watts provide a lot of suction power — so much that the head sometimes sucks in smaller rugs while I’m vacuuming over them. I can still get what I need if I hold the rugs down with my feet, and the head doesn’t jam when the surface is held in place, unlike the weaker stick vac. The LED headlights on the front of the brush head do a nice job of showing debris and dirt, but maybe not as good of a job as the green laser our stick vac uses. It’s still a nice feature that gives you some extra confidence that your cleaning routine is going well. Overall, I’m quite pleased, and I recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets!

I maybe a little biased when it comes to the Shark line. I used to buy a cheap vacuum every year or so, as the cheap brands just end up falling apart, either the belts would break or the motors would just lose any power, it was always a battle with those things. While 80 - 100 bucks wasn't that big of a deal to just throw one away and buy another... I decided I had enough and ended up just biting the bullet and bought a 250 dollar vacuum from Best Buy, it was the Shark NV360, I still have this vacuum, and it until now has been the best vacuum I have ever owned, it was so good a few years later I ended up buying the Shark CarpetXpert EX301 Deep Cleaner (carpet shampooer as it were). I sincerely get excited to vacuum, when the suction of these things make it so worth while that you know you're getting your house clean, it just makes you want to use them. So with all of that said, now I get this Shark Vertex Upright Model AZ2502. Putting it together out of the box is a breeze, there is even places for the attachments at the bottom, and a pretty cool odor pucket that you insert into the base of the unit to help with smells. Then you plug it in, and turn it on, and you realize how much this vacuum sucks, and of course i'm playing on words here because this vacuum has to be the absolute most powerful upright vacuum I have ever used. I pulled the detached nozzle and put on the Pet Crevice tool and as I went towards the wall; I'm not kidding but I could see my pictures on my wall start to pull out and off, the motor on this thing is amazing, just amazing. The Shark line of vacuums are just amazing to me, after years of wasting my money on cheap crappy vacuums and here sat the Cadillac of vacuums just for a little more money. Now if you've read this far you may ask, what does this guy know about vacuums outside of wasting money on crappy ones and getting super lucky finding the Shark line, ...well my mother when I was growing up ran a cleaning business, and her mother before her, I literally grew up with my grandmother and mom using vacuums to provide money for the family, back then (I hate to think how far back, but) back then, the vacuum of choice was the Kirby line (70's 80's) my grandma would send her vacuum to the Kirby dealer to be worked on, she had that thing for 20 some years, as did my mom. They swore by those things, "best vacuum in the world they would proclaim". Well my grandma god rest her soul is gone, but my mom is still alive and has seen these Shark vacuums I own, and she is reminded of her business years ago and how good vacuums used to be, she is just as amazed at how good these are. Normally I write pros and cons about the items I review, but I'm just going to say this, if you are wanting a vacuum that picks up super well, and runs great, and does everything a vacuum should do, and also does everything it 'states it will do'... I would suggest the Shark line of vacuums, be it this one or hoestly any other one they offer. Of the 2 I owned before this one, all are still running, and working as well as the day I bought them; and if the time comes I need a new vacuum, as long as they are still a company I guarantee it will be a Shark.

Our Golden Retriever helped put the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away vacuum through some good testing scenarios. In case you don’t already know, Goldens have a long, fine top coat, as well as a thick undercoat. Together, this creates an array of golden tumbleweeds in your home. Some glide over the surface of hard flooring, while the rest gets stomped into the the carpet fibers. In our home, we have hardwood flooring, very low pile rugs and standard carpet. I must say that we already have a Shark stick-vac that is the best stick-vac (or vacuum) that we’ve ever had. I was very curious how this upright vacuum would compare. Like the stick-vac, this vacuum also has an anti-hair wrap brush roll that actually works. With all past vacuums, I’ve had to pull out the scissors to cut the hair off the roller. Not necessary with this vacuum. The suction power on this unit is very aggressive. My ultimate test is always with our very low-pile area rugs. The pile on one rug is in our living/TV room and gets walked on every day. The fibers get matted down and the dog hair really gets stuck in it. The suction power of this vacuum was able to visibly bring up the fibers of the rug and grab the dog hair out. I was truly impressed. This suction power also served well when using the pet power brush, which I used on the dog beds. Speaking of the included tools. The vacuum came with three tools: multi-pet tool, the crevice tool and the pet power brush. I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but the vacuum only comes with two tool holders, not three. It would be nice if all the tools were able to be stored on the vacuum. Just a mild bummer. Another great feature of this vacuum, which I’m finding to be pretty much standard with new vacuums, is HEPA filtration. Sharks “Anti-Allergen Complete Seal” system has the HEPA filter located inside the vacuum, under the canister. This keeps all the dust and pet dander trapped inside the vacuum so it’s not blown back into the air. When I was emptying the canister, which was very easy to do, I was able to visibly see how much debris was caught in the filter. Overall, I’m very happy with this vacuum. As I mentioned, I really love my Shark stick-vac, but with this new vacuum I can now tackle the whole house without worrying about running out of power.

Our family's household has put many vacuums to the test over the years, of all different brands, types, shapes and sizes. We have easily become partial to the Shark brand in recent years because of their always impressive suction power, their reliability, overall performance, and ease of use. The new Vertex Pet vacuum of course hits all the marks we have come to love and expect of Shark! Our home is a pretty even mix of hardwood, tile, and carpet so this has led us to being pretty picky when it comes to our vacuums. Consistency across all floor types is important and we unanimously agreed this suction power on all surfaces exceeded our standards. We have a part time visiting grand dog that we regularly have to clean hair up for, as well as several females in the home so we have been loving the no hair wrap guard that protects the brush roll from becoming a hairy mess which is huge. We never realized how much we were lacking in the attachments department until we started using this Vertex Pet vacuum, it comes with more than the average amount of attachments. They are also all very useful, it seems like many vacuums come with attachments you never truly use, but of course Shark did it right once again. We love the pet power brush for stairs, and the pet crevice tool for couches and even car seats. It seems like the suction power of this vacuum is one of the strongest on the market currently, we use our old vacuum and then go over it with this vacuum and it just keeps finding more debris. This is always great news as it means a cleaner house overall. All in all, I cannot recommend this vacuum enough, if you are on the fence about the Shark brand, just give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Regardless of if you have pets or not, the vacuum will still be a great addition to your cleaning arsenal.

When my daughter moved back home with us she brought her Shiba Inu dog with her. I never knew a dog could shed so much! When he walks his fine haired undercoat constantly falls onto the floor, walls, furniture, or anything that he passes. This means that I'm constantly vacuuming and dusting. Then came the Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum to help me tackle all of this hair! This vacuum came equipped with a pet crevice tool, a pet power brush, and a pet multi-tool. The pet multi-tool has a removable stiff bristle brush to help remove stuck-on debris. I use the pet multi-tool with the bristle brush attached to remove the fine hair from my throw pillows. I must mention that this vacuum has odor neutralizer technology. Not only does it keep the dog hair under control, it also helps neutralize odors. Instructions for set-up are included, it took about 10 minutes total to click everything into place. Because this vacuum has the odor neutralizer technology, the Odor Dial must be installed for the vacuum to function properly. You can remove the odor cartridge however, the dial must be installed. Includes 3 surface selectors-Thick carpet & area rug cleaning Carpet & low pile rug cleaning Hard wood floor cleaning Cleaning modes- Upright Above-floor-Handle Above-floor-Wand Powered Lift-Away Lift-Away The Shark Vertex Pet Powered Lift-Away vacuum has 2 dust filters that can be cleaned with only water. Overall this vacuum meets my needs. Highly recommend.
